I highly recommend Cedar Works for your next deck project. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. The installation and results of the deck and cable rail surpassed our expectations. Pat and Mike, the father and son duo, showcased meticulous attention to every detail. Their exceptional craftsmanship, coupled with their genuine kindness throughout the entire process, solidified our confidence in choosing Cedar Deck for our project.

Jamie, the owner, came to our home for an estimate, accompanied by an attitude patronizing and arrogant to the point of rudeness. Little to no interest in or respect for our preferences. We never heard anything that vaguely resembled, "It's your deck, we'd like you to be happy, and we would appreciate your business."

My 20+ year old wood deck needed replacement. I decided to go with a Trex deck but I also needed replacement of cedar stairway railings from my sun porch down to ground level. I'm an experienced homeowner and know the importance of picking the right contractor. I researched deck companies thoroughly starting with lists from Trex, Angi, and Mann's Lumber. I checked the overall ratings, and read a lot of the posted comments. From that I developed a list of six that I actually contacted. I settled on four that I invited to review the project and estimate the job. From there I chose Cedar Works and I couldn't be more impressed with the job they did in every way from start to finish. Robert, who met initially with me and developed the estimate was prompt, professional, and answered all of my questions. Once they began the work, I was amazed at how smoothly the different aspects of the job were perfectly orchestrated. Material drop off, refuse quickly picked up from the tear down of the old deck, including a separate pick up for the old glass inserts just happened without any reminders from me. Patrick and Michael, the two carpenters assigned to the job, were very efficient and their work on the deck and railings most importantly was first rate. I looked over the Trex deck and the custom cedar railings carefully and all are as close to perfect as I could have imagined. Jamie, the owner, checked in with me a couple of times as well. If you are doing a deck project I strongly suggest you give these guys a call. You won't be disappointed.

The salesperson was quick to respond to my request for an estimate, completed a detailed sketch of our current large deck, and emailed a quote quickly. However, our meeting was brief because he said he'd scheduled another estimate. In addition, I emailed him thanking him, but with more questions about the job and received NO response, hence no further action was taken on my part. I'm guessing (and I really am guessing here), he probably thought the initial quote would give me "sticker shock" (which it did...almost $58,000!) so he didn't need to pursue my business any further. On the other hand, I suppose I'm now convinced that for the next 20 years, I could replace any necessary cedar boards and have the deck power-washed/stained yearly for the cost of a new Trex deck.

It was incredible. They were really good. The guy was so smart, they knew what they were doing and they were very professional. They were very knowledgeable.

The crew did a good job from beginning to end. My frame is sagging, and sometimes the water is leaking into the house under heavy rain. They took care of both. They know what they are doing and exceeded my expectation.

Jamie and his crew were wonderful to work with. He gave us a clear estimate of the work to be done. Since we live in a condo, we had association guidelines to comply with and Jamie was great in making suggestions to both meet those guidelines and give us the beautiful deck we envisioned. The professionalism of both Jamie and his workers was outstanding.

I'm super happy with our deck! I'm not sure if we got just lucky to have Chad (one of the crew staff who actually built decks) work on our deck, but the quality and craftsmanship he and his team put in is so precise, beyond our expectation - we are really impressed. I think his standards and "common sense" are so high that we did not have to tell him anything while the deck was being built. He did not waste even a second when he was working on our deck, no chat with his coworker, no chat on the phone, nothing - just work, work, work - focused on the deck all day. It was a pleasant surprise since we are very picky about quality, especially after we have gone through a terrible home builder of our home's for bunch of quality issues. Also truly appreciate Robert, who provided us great design proposals and were very very patient with our questions and modification requests. Jamie (owner) is an easy-going nice guy and did everything we asked for. He's pretty responsive whenever I needed to contact him. One more thing - I love the way their quotes are. They break down all items in the quote so it was so easy to know what was included and what was not and super clear about a price for each item. I have received quotes from other deck builders too but they did not show us break-down prices. Most of them even hesitated to answer to my questions about the price when I asked them. I think Cedar Works is very honest with customers. They did not hide anything from us in the quotes.I will recommend Cedar Works to anyone. All my neighbors said our deck was looking sooo nice:-)

Had an appointment for them to come out today. They call 40 minutes before appointment to cancel. Apparently my project was too small.

The representative never showed up during the appointment time, and did not call to cancel, reschedule, or let me know they couldn’t make it. When I called to inquire, my calls went to voicemail. I left messages, but nobody responded even though I called during the posted business hours.

Jamie came out to take measurements and he then emailed to me the quote a few days later. A lot of the other companies didn't even come out to see the deck, but based their estimates on my measurements. The workers did an excellent job and cleaned up very well afterward.

Great experience. Jamie is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Came out within 48 hours of my first call and was right on time. Advised me on my project and turned around a quote in a few days. Pricing was very clear, itemized and very fair. Unfortunately, we'll not be doing the project this spring as we have a kitchen remodel taking place, but will no doubt call Cedar Works when it's time to get started on the project.

The company did not reply to my online request. I was specific in what I wanted and I think contractors are too busy this year and do not take small projects.

Great. Responsive and prompt. Finished as promised. After dealing with my builder, this was a refreshing change.

Right from the time we met Robert, we felt we are in good hands. He was knowledgeable, professional and very patient in answering all our questions. He provided multiple options and let us choose form those. He did not seem pushy, arrogant or someone who was in a rush. The quote was detailed and the deck design was to our liking. The deck was built in the timeline that Cedarworks said it would take them to build. The builders were professional, friendly and very patient. They also took time to explain their work and followed through on their words. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we are happy that we have a new deck to use in summer!

Awesome. Shopped around because i talked with Cedar Works first and i had sticker shock. Would have ben a mistake to go elsewhere and that became clear as i vetted other contractors and the quality and extent of servce that i would have received for less cost.

After review of several other companies, we chose Cedar Works for the job. Jamie and their entire crew were very professional and extremely detailed with their work. Our deck turned out just as we had envisioned.

Reviewed 5 companies, Cedar Works had it all...quality, cost and speed. Jamie and the crew were very professional, courteous, and very detailed in their work. They cleaned up, even raking the grass before leaving. We could not be more pleased and the deck is beautiful...exactly what we had hoped.

Can you believe that? Why would you ever want anyone else other than Cedar Works to design and build your deck?

It went great! The entire process... from design, quote and installation went very well. I had contacted three deck builders - all rated very well on Angies. Cedar Works came across as very professional, and seemed to know the most about the issues a low to the ground deck would create. The price was in the middle of the three but it was the most complete.... it even included the liners for the planters (4 planters on the deck) We contracted in winter and wanted it built in May. They followed up and had all the ducks in a row. As we got closer the owner Jamie made another recommendation that turned out to be great. They were on time and I can't say enough about the craftsmanship of the lead deck builder. Down to all the edges being sanded etc. They finished within the week as promised and cleaned up wonderfully. Would use them again in a heart beat.

From the tear out of our old deck, to the ahead of schedule building and finishing of our new deck we couldn't be more pleased. Jamie's team is professional, clean, pleasant and polite. Our deck is beautiful and very well made, the time and effort that they put into their product shows a true professionalism and pride in their workmanship. I can't say enough good things about them! The crew showed up promptly at 9:00 am, tore out the old decking, installed the new deck (including rails and skirting), all in one day! They managed to do all this while putting up with our lawn service, and the AT&T guy relocating our satellite dish. Once the job was completed, the crew cleaned up the area very well. My husband and I were extremely satisfied with their work. Our new deck looks great, and we've had several comments from our neighbors how nice it is. We would definitely recommend Cedar Works to our friends and family.

I had visited one of my friend house who had used this company for his deck project and recommended me this company for my project. After little bit research I called Jamie in December for quote , he responded me promptly came to look the area I was planning to built deck , gave me design and size of deck and emailed me quote. I compared quote and was reasonable ,went ahead and gave deposit $500 to start project in march. Early march got call from him to send survey and HOA approval for permit from city and scheduled work rite away. Called me few days before and told when crew will start work and when material will arrive. Pat and Michael came and started work without wasting any single minutes , waited for city inspector to approve the holes. After approval material arrived next day and they came back in morning and started on project , one thing I can say these two guys are really hard working , very courteous , professional and importantly love what they do (building deck )and cleaned work site after project completed. Deck got ready in five days as expected. Jamie the owner is really nice guy to work with. If you looking for deck project contractor ( go for trex material- which I got ) who is professional and courteous in job and really fair in price , look no further and call Jamie without any doubt . Everyone compares everything when comes to spend money but I can assure this much that you will not regret if you go with this guy Jamie for your next deck project (very knowledgeable in what he does everyday - building deck ). Last thing cedar work is really great company to go for your Trex deck project, you will not be disappointed in my personal and experienced opinion .
