Bos Moving & Service

They arrived a bit late but worked fast and dealt with obstacles (driveway repaving) at the new location. They worked fast but not so fast that they caused damage. They made sure that the loose legs on my dining room chairs were tightened before they left. They also informed me of other services they offered such as coming out to move boxex, furniture, etc. once you are moved in. I was quite interested in that.

They were running a little behind but called me and made me aware. I only had the elevators for a 3 hour timeframe and we lost about an hour since they were behind. They still made sure everything was out before my scheduled time was up. They were fast and careful with everything. I would definitely recommend them to any and everyone.

Showed up promptly, and got right to work. Moved several large and small items and helped me move them into a storage unit. Everyone was very professional and helpful. Very pleased with this moving company and would use them again.

They showed up on time and were very personable. They did exactly what we expected them to do and were very careful when moving our furniture.

every thing went smooth without a hitch. We needed to get out within 7 days and they were able to accommodate us.

Service and care of furniture was great

The Bos guys were very professional. They showed up on time and got to work. They were very accommodating with special requests, and were careful with fragile items (though we didn't have too many of those). They even moved a heavy playset for us. It was impressive to see them do it too. I at first thought I should help, but after they got started I saw they really knew what they were doing, and I truly would have been in the way. An excellent experience overall.

They showed up on time, dismantled the furniture and delivered and reset up. They also had to carry everything up a flight of stairs in Farmington. No problem. The workers had can-do attitudes and were a pleasure to work with.

We could not be happier with these movers. I recommended them to the mother of a friend who also moved from my former area to SC. Apparently they specialize in movers from Michigan to the Atlantic States. I know they were in Virginia just before coming to our location. We got some referrals from the internet but the larger companies did they not want to bother to come out and really see our stuff. They just sent us an estimate based on an on-line form I filled the form out but did not really understand it. Another company had me verbally list what I had but again I did not feel comfortable with that. None of these companies, including Allied and some others, bothered to take the time to really see what I had. We got bids sight unseen ! They were all higher than Personal Touch. Personal Touch came out to actually see the stuff and ask questions about what would go. They gave us a not to exceed bid and the final cost was a bit lower than quoted. Also one referral person wanted a two week window. We could not do that because we really did not want to be in a empty apartment or in hotels longer than we needed. These movers gave us the exact move out date we wanted and arrived exactly on time in the morning of our move in date. They were also to get us in on the date we took possession of the apartment. I was expecting to have to wait a day or two to have our things, so we were thrilled to get delivery right away. They were at our new place 1/2 hour after we got the keys. The guys are very careful and lay down carpet cover to help with the dirt. They were very careful and nothing was broken. They are friendly and professional. We saved some money and time by packing everything ourselves. We followed a lot of advice about getting rid of things and cutting down. Our friends who are also using them are having them pack their books. Again, I have absolutely no hesitation about recommending them. A special notes: The man we worked with told us that they get very busy in the summer, after school lets out. They are constantly busy moving in-state as well as out-of-state. If you want a move with them during the summer call early to book your dates.

I know that the majority or the reviews are good for Bos Moving. That is why we used them. Unfortunately we may have caught them on a bad day. The service was performed very poorly. Multiple items were broken or at least damaged in some way. The packaging was sloppy and wasteful (example. They used a huge box to pack 1 pillow but all of our artwork was thrown in the truck without even being wrapped in paper). The items being packed in the truck were jammed in. The crew working was slow and seemed to not enjoy what they were doing. The hours on the bill that we received were inaccurate. The original quote did not come close to reflecting the actual cost they tried to give us. After seeing multiple broken items and having an inaccurate bill, I contacted the owner Mark. He did come to the house and refund some money for the inaccurate time charge and initial broken items. I told him that I would call him again after we unpacked and he assured me that they would correct any further problems. Unfortunately we ran into multiple items that were broken or damaged and after two separate phone calls, Mark never returned my calls. We have taken multiple pictures to show Mark but unfortunately he never replied... We are the type of people that never complain about anything but thought we should share our experience with the rest of the Angies List members.

Decent company. They were responsive and professional and provided a decent quality for the price. I will use them again in the future.

Excellent service - hard workers - flexibility in pick-up/delivery. Very reasonable cost given the work involved.

Move went well; friendly crew. Expectations needed to be set up front that the crew's lunch break was on paid time. Usually, lunch time isn't paid. Movers were about 20 minutes late, the time was rounded up to the nearest 1/2 hour.

Talked to several moving companies and decided to go with BOS. They seemed like a competitive price and were able to accommodate moving on a Sunday, even though they normally only move Mon - Sat. and Saturday did not fit my schedule. When they called to confirm they were on the way, they asked if I wanted an extra mover to speed up the process (increase in hourly rate, but net neutral or cheaper). I agreed and it worked out very well. They were very efficient with moving, yet careful not to damage anything. The only issue I had was they were supposed to be there between 9:00 - 10:00 am and didn't arrive until a little after 10:00. Obviosly, I would have preferred closer to 9:00. Otherwise, I was very happy with the move and would use them again in the future.

They were EXCELLENT! I used Bos back in October to load the PODS and was so happy with them, I called them to do the unloading. They worked with me through 3 schedule changes and a delivery snafu with PODS. The office even contacted and worked with PODS directly when there were issues. The movers themselves were great!!!---punctual, efficient and careful. They were careful with my floors (even with the cold and snow outside at the time), my newly painted walls and put everything where I wanted. They worked non-stop and were very friendly and fun to be around in what was a very stressful time. Don't want to move again anytime soon but would hire them again if needed, for sure!!!

overall, OK. One employee apparently slipped and fell on ice at the commercial storage facility and called us ( not the Bos management but the employee himself) to tell us about it. He never told us about this incident on that day. We feel he was looking for some type of compensation. As of this date, we're not aware of any litigation. But our overall satisfaction with Bos in the spring of 2013 was not as positive as our first use of them in December 2012 ( a different crew) I'd still use them but ask that they filter out some of their employees.

The two movers were great. They were efficient in wrapping and packing. They were very accommodating in getting boxes in the right rooms, furniture set up, etc. It was a hot day and there were 2 1/2 flights of stairs to go up but they were friendly the whole time.

For the most part, it went very well. Nice bunch of guys. Only found one item damaged - a castor broken off a deck box. I would have liked them to tell me about it but you can't have everything. Looking at the big picture, not the one broken item, they did a good job. My son moved his company furniture and his mover demolished a valuable desk so I think I am lucky.

Very well. Would definitely recommend them.

The moving process was the least of our concerns. They were that good.

Move was quick and easy. Minor damage to a file cabinet that may not have been the fault of mover.

Two guys came (Tom & Steve) they handled all my furniture with great care. They were also very fast. I would definitely recommend this company

They were exactly as advertised and met my needs. They did a great job and handled my items with care. I would recommend them and use them for future needs.

The movers arrived generally on time (appointment was for 9:00 AM, they showed at 9:30). They were able to fit more in the truck than originally estimated, which was good news. The weather was very poor (very rainy) that day and they did not wear any sort of foot protection in the new house. I just had the carpets cleaned in the new house, so I was extremely disappointed when grease marks were left in the front entrance of my house, down the hallway to the bedrooms and in the basement where new carpet had just been installed. I called the company to try to resolve the issue. Someone came out three weeks later (first weekend appointment they had) and only brought carpet spot remover. When that did not complete the job, the man who came said he would have to call and reschedule another appointment to bring more equipment - he did not have his schedule with him at the time. I still have not received a phone call, and the damage remains on my carpets. Another negative point is regarding one of the three movers who acted marginally inappropriate more than once. He made several comments about my exercise activity, made a comment about the quality of my mattress (making reference to my husband), and was borderline flirting with me the entire day, including some physical contact which made me uncomfortable. Outside of those two issues, nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They were very careful with special items that I pointed out. They were very efficient both in time and packing the van.

I previously owned and operated a local moving company. Therefore, I know what to look for in movers, Not only do I want quality work, I want integrity. I had BOS move my household in two separate moves. I wanted to avoid overly tired movers and I didn't know how hot it might be on move day. Dehydration and exhaustion both lead to damage. The first crew moved most of the boxes. They were experienced men and did a great job. The second crew did a good job, too. They were polite and handled themselves professionally. There were a couple of large pieces that they didn't know how to handle. I little more training in the use of straps would help. There was only one piece of glass that broke and Mark (the owner) replaced it. I had a lot of fun both days. The guys let me move what I wanted to and laughed at my crazy enthusiasm. I would recommend BOS and have.
