Great Dane Heating & Air Conditioning

Our appointment window was from 2-5pm. Brian, our technician, arrived from another job around 6:15. In fairness, however, we were experiencing a series of unusually hot Fall days, and we were pleased to get service the same day. Brian diagnosed the problem carefully, explained the problem to us and how he intended to complete the work, answering any questions, then made the necessary repairs. He was knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. This was our 3rd call to Great Dane over the past approximately 5 years and have been pleased each time. We won't hesitate to use their services in the future. I think Great Dane's costs have been reasonable for any of the work we have had done.

They were competitive in pricing with 4 quotes I had gotten. Both visits they were excellent to work with. They were professional, courteous, very thorough, informative. I would hire them over and over again for any and all HVAC work I could need!!!

Everything went very well! The company's technician understood that I needed the a/c to work, but that I also needed a cost effective solution.

Gave me a few options and fixed only what was broken. Did not pressure me or replace furnace or make me spend money I didn't have. Made my home a priority over others that day because we were without heat.

They correctly diagnosed the circuit board problem, but then also told us the heat exchanger had cracks in it. We got a second opinion from a very reliable source who said the heat exchanger was not cracked. The money we paid them was just to look at it. They quoted us $1,400 to fix both (about $900 for the heat exchanger and $500 for the circuit board). We got the circuit board fixed for $325, including labor. I noticed afterwards in a review that someone else had said they were told they had a bad heat exchanger, but didn't.

They did a good job I think I had them come out for another house and I wasn't pleased with what they did but for my house they did a good job. It seem like they really here to replace things, I didn't have this impression when I had my furnace done but when I had them come out on another house the guys was like oh I can't fix the air conditioner and oh if I inspect your furnace I'll just turn it off on you and I was trying to sell the house so I wasn't really please with that call. It was like I had one impression of them when they fixed my furnace at my house and then it was like I call them out to replace the hot water tank at another house and this is just cause I had work with them before and then I got into the bid with oh your air conditioner can't be fixed and I might have to just shut your furnace off on you permanently and the repair man hadn't even been told about the hot water tank I had call to come out. It was an expensive repair and I have a very small house and when they put it in it was like oh you need to have your air ducts cleaned and they referred me to some other company that wanted a really high price to do it, I started thinking it wasn't as good as I thought it could be.

They were very professional and punctual. Before the installation, they loaned us heaters, so that we would be warm until they could install the new boiler. The work was neat and they cleaned up after themselves. After the installation, there were a few issues with the boiler and they came out right away, at no cost, to get it working properly. They are a great company!

The sales man, installers, & office staff were very punctual, professional, & courteous! They put rugs throughout my home to protect the floors and left my basement cleaner than it was when they arrived! Excellent Company! I would highly recommend them! Great financing too! A+++!

Excellent. This is about the third time we have used this company. Each time is a repeat of high quality work delivered by exceptional representatives.

We had a problem with our A/C and called Great Dane on a Saturday to fix it. Issue was diagnosed to be a bad capacitor which needs to be replaced. I was charged $135 (including 50% weekend surcharge) for labor & $245 for parts, a total of $380. Later i came to know through a friend that it should cost around $150-$200. So I looked up for cost of this capacitor based on Part# P291-4054RS listed on the invoice and most of them costed around $20-$60, which i was charged $245. i understand its a common practice to mark up replacement parts, so i called 2 other heating & cooling guys and they quoted me $150-$200. I called Great Dane for an explanation, and the service manager was trying to justify the cost by saying they offer 1 year warranty (which is not listed anywhere in invoice) and also all their technicians are highly skilled ( which should be covered under labor cost). When i questioned him more and mentioned about the other quotes i received, he said then i should have called other company instead. Great attitude towards customer service. One other reviewer had been ripped of for the same service. Stay away from these guys...

Very well. Both Steve and the installation crew were on time, courteous, and neat. They helped me determine what type of system I needed as well as explaining how it worked and how to maintain it. Their pricing was in line with other service providers. I did not have a long wait for the quote or the installation. I will definitely use them again.

Great Dane is, hands down, the best. There are too many service providers in many industries that have a sense of entitlement. They believe they are doing you a favor my coming to work at your house. The lack of professionalism and punctuality you get from many of these providers in unacceptable. Brian and Great Dane are at the top of their game. Brian was on time, very courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. Never once did I get the impression we were being an inconvenience to him, no matter how many questions we asked. I will definitely be using Great Dane in the future for all my HVAC needs.

The gentleman that came out was very informative and helpful. Took his time explaining everything he was doing and even talked me into getting an appliance maintenance contract thru consumers energy for my furnace and a/c unit for future protection. Very happy with the service and suggestions.

Both visits by Great Dane service providers (Brian and Brett) went very well. They were friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and clean. They did a great job to answer any questions I had, and were very respectful. I also was impressed by the customer service every time I called the company. They seem to run a very reliable, professional business, and I will be contacting them again when I need my A/C tune-up.

I was very impressed with consultant Steve who, on the initial visit, explained in detail with illustrations, a video, and pictures what the job would entail. His written proposal was clear and comprehensive. Two days later Ron, Cross, and Brandon arrived early and worked until evening. The installation of the air conditioner outside was in very bad weather- no complaints from them! They worked very well together, were polite, patient with my questions and cleaned up their work area. I definitely would recommend Great Dane to family and friends.

First, the people on the phone booking the appointment and later confirming the appointment were very pleasant. Next, Brett was my service technician. He was on time and very curtious. He was able to find the part that was faulty quickly and had the parts and tools available to fix the problem. During the full inspection, he walked me through the process. Also, Brett pointed out some things I can do to make my unit more efficient. I would recommend Great Dane to friends and family. By going through Angie's List, I was able to get 10% off service discount and a special low price for the inspection. On my first time using Angie's List I saved $50.00.

They were very prompt and professional, listening to my husband's diagnosis of the problem and what he had done to remedy the situation before we called. They had it up and running within an hour or so and came out on a Saturday. Our service technician, Joel was terrific and we will definitely be calling this company again if we need service on either our furnace or air conditioner.

Replaced furnace, air conditioner, and water heater all in one day. This is a very professional, customer-focused company. I had contact with a number of their staff over a period of months, while I obtained 3 estimates, and researched the products proposed by the different companies. This included making a visit to the Great Dane showroom, which was a worthwhile trip. Installation day went very well, as did the final inspections.
