Mike G. did a crackerjack job on my roof. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate him a 12. He was very personal and professional. He answered all of my stupid questions and went about his work is a most methodical and deliberate fashion. A very pleasant and friendly individual. Mr. Kanga, your employee is worth hanging on to. At my scheduled appointment time it was a no show. that should have been my first clue. There was a message on my phone. that they wanted to make sure i would be home so then they would send someone out. i scheduled this appointment days ago. it was planned. they also called me 12 minutes before the scheduled time, which is not really enough time to be on time. I was doing things in my schedule i had to get done and was ready for the appt at 8:50 am. I was not monitoring my phone to get the call. What would be the point of making an appointment then. The entire point of making the appointment is for someone to show up at the scheduled time. when i made the appt it should have been explained that they will call on the day before they will even send anyone out and to monitor my phone. this is due to all the no shows they deal with i was told, but not all people do that. and their processes was not explained needless to say they showed up 40 or 45 minutes later when I had other things planned in my schedule. i was getting ready to cancel then saw them drive by. they were very friendly and courteous. but they literally had no clue what they were doing for a repair. they wandered around the entire roof not even anywhere near the skylights not even on the same peak. this was only an isolated 3 sky light issue. then after looking inside they wanted to go back up there and look for nails sticking up. and there were none when we were up there i said i dont see any after they pointed out on nail sticking up on the pick at least 15 feet to the side of the skylight (yes i went up on the roof too) there were none i said you can see there arent any in the one skylight area. the other 3 companies I had come out already could see where the water was coming in from 2 of the skylights there was water damage just under the glass on the skylight molding wood frame which kanga did not even see or point out. the other companies never pointed out the nail sticking up. the other 3 companies also pointed out debris getting in under the shingles themselves around the skylights which needed to be resealed/replaced. kanga went to write their estimate well since they did not know what was going on they gave me a estimate for a water test $99, yes, lol. and it goes toward your repairs. Like i would even use them for anything. and i warned my neighbor to avoid them. I knew right away when they were wondering around the roof aimlessly that it was a complete waste of my time. the other 3 roofing companies had the all the same but completely different troubleshooting approaches than kanga. it actually came to the point were i said to the kanga guys, "okay were done now lets get off the roof". from what kanga did and did not do on the roof i would say they are complete and utter novices at roofing/skylight leaks/repairs in my opinion. the roof shingles had already been looked at last year not even related to the skylights and the 30 year shingles are in well enough shape and the roof does not need to be replaced and when i called kanga I told them that.

I was told the job would cost approximately 500 dollars for a person to come out for half a day and repair my roof leak. The contract said the flashing was to be replaced and the owner's son, Matt showed me pictures of the entry point of the water into my house. Denis showed up at 9am to repair my roof. I went out to check on things at 10:30 and he had already packed his stuff and gone. I called Matt and asked if I should mail the check--he sent Denis back to collect it. I was surprised at how quickly the job was done and asked Denis if he had indeed replaced the flashing and he said no, I was not understanding the terminology correctly. I called Matt and expressed my concern that their end of the contract had not been fulfilled--I believed the flashing had been repaired, not replaced, and only 75% of the roof line had been taken care of. He said he would check and call me back. He never called back. A few days later I recieved a gift card for more work at their company. I sent it back to the owner explaining my dissatisfaction and then left for vacation. The owner sent me a follow-up note, saying his company had a 100% guarentee and asked what could be done to make things right. I have e-mailed the owner twice since returning from vacation, asking if my flashing had been replaced or not and telling him I expected the entire roof line to be taken care of, not just part of it. I have never recieved a response.
