They promised to reduce my energy bill in my attic insulation, there was no reduced happened. they never took care of my rebate that told me they gonna do it. The sales representative told me to email if I have anything to ask, but always not available and forward me to somebody else. So I feel that their a liar. They arrived on time and inspected 30mins a day of the projects and then left for about 3hrs before they came back, they set up for 30mins installed to started and took lunch for about an hour and they came back and took another hour to start again then left the job and didn't finish, so they are only working about 3 hours a day afterwards they left and did not cleaned up after they work along my driveways and porches that is the first day. The second day they are consistently kept calling the company asking for help cause they don't know how to do the job, the owner told that he was gonna come by to verify the job but he did not. They said their going to replace a vent but they don't do it. After the job my energy bill didn't change and trying to reach for them for my energy bill and rebate but their office said they loss my information and ask me several times for the same information. The owner kept rescheduling at times to do inspection for him personally to come out and for home inspection, so the inspection will include taking heat mattings of the house check in vents checking the furnace checking the air-conditioned and anywhere else loosing heat crash holder but the company didn't do that until begin the project and wait until it has a problem. So the company wants to do all of listed things but they want to do it until it has a problem which I'm not happy with that. The owner kept scheduling at times but no show and called me until not picking up any phone calls and messages. Very unprofessional.

I bought a house in Fraser and came to find out I had very high energy bills and 2 inches of insulation. Tom from Dana Insulation came out and guaranteed a minimum of a 20% energy and gas bill reduction. He said realistically it will be 25-35% by getting their attic insulation. The day of the job the crew showed up on time and took a look around. They came unprepared and had to go back to their shop "15min away". A few hours later they came back and got set up. They kept calling their office asking questions unsure what and where they were putting the insulation. Shortly after starting they went and sat in their truck or paced up and down the sidewalk on the phone. I assume it was their lunch but I was unsure since they were constantly on their phones. After their break they got 2-3 hours of work in before deciding to call it for the day. At some point during that time the owner arrived sat in his truck and left. He didn't come into the house or greet me. They vacuumed and left. There was a lot of insulation left in the house and rusty staples throughout the house, porch, and driveway (ballpark of 50+). My 1yr old handed me one so I called the company and complained. At the start of day 2 the contractors were stumped on how to add insulation to the attic above our extra bedroom. So they sat in their truck or on the phone for the first 2 hours trying to figure it out. The owner called me and said they were going to pop a vent off the roof and replace it with a new one and he would stop by when they finished and check everything. So they popped off the vent and just filled in insulation hoping for the best. It was very unprofessional. I found out at the end because I asked that they didn't replace it and were not told to do so. One of the contractors got stuck in the small attic door entrance. They were screaming, swearing and panicking. We rushed over to help them while the other contractor was outside on their phone. Shortly after their blower broke down and they had to wait for repairs. There was only a few hours of work done and they said the job was finished. The owner DID NOT come and inspect their work. The contractors asking for help from the office all day. They also left more insulation and staples all over my driveway. The owner scheduled a time to come take a look but no call no showed. I reached out to Tom multiple times over my rebate but he would brush me off to someone else. I was asked 2 times over email and one time on phone for simple information for it that they somehow kept loosing it? I reached out to Tom months later with my bills showing him nothing has changed like he guaranteed would by spending all of this money on attic insulation. I also mentioned I had not received my rebate which was well past the window. The owner called me and said that he reviewed the bills and checked online where I was last year. He agreed they were way to high and that the insulation didn't do what it should of. He scheduled a time to come out and look at what was going on. Again he was a no call no show. I got a hold of him again and he apologized. He said he was going to bring out a heat gun along with more measurement equipment. He was going to test all of the walls, ceilings, attic, furnace, AC, and vents. I asked why they didn't do this from the start and he said they only do it when there is a problem. This seems backwards to me. We scheduled another time and he no call no showed yet again.

I bought a home in Madison Heights in 2012. It was built in 1959. I didn’t know until recently why it was cold in certain area of my house. I was referred by a friend/contractor to Tom with Dana Insulation. Tom came out on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He said there are a few places where heat is lost. The attic, basement (where the top wall meets the house called the shoulder. Tom went up in my attic and said there was decent insulation but it should have more. While he was there he recommended a few roof vents due to air circulation problems. (I had no soffit vents). He then noticed my bathroom exhaust fan only vented into the attic but not out of the house. He said moisture will be an issue. He also told me what I already knew which was these older homes have “Zero” absolutely “No” insulation inside any of my (4)outside walls. I was emailed my quote in a very timely manner and the price was reasonable. They also told me I could get special financing via “Michigan Saves.” I got my financing approved and it was very easy. Long story (sorry) is the crew came out as well as Steve. Steve who was in charge is a very humble, knowledgeable, personable and amazingly honest human. The crew did a job on my house that turned not only amazed my girlfriend and I but exceeded my expectations. My cold back bedroom rooms are no longer cold after filling the gaps with blown in insulation. The temperature is steady and even. It’s amazing how much of a difference insulation literally (on every level) of my house made. It’s a smaller home but I love it and plan on staying here forever. When the job was done, Steve came out so I could sign off. He said “Now you can have your home back.” That stuck with me because he really cared and treated this home like it was his own. As soon as Steve left I contacted Sam who is the owner. I let him know how happy I was. Sam was so personable that we talked for awhile as well. I will absolutely recommend Dana Insulation to anyone and everyone. I knew it would help but had no clue I would notice this much of a difference. Cary

If you are prefer to take time out of your day to constantly have to call and ask for updates then be my guest. I’m a very understanding individual but one thing I refuse to accept is leaving the client hanging and not know. Long story short, I received a quote on October 30th. Within 2 days I confirmed we’d like to move forward. Go figure they answer/respond quickly before you agree to hire for their services. I was supposed to get insulation installed on October 5th. I get a call on October 5th advising that they had a mishap and a machine broke down. Bummer but I get it. No ones fault. I was told then that they unfortunately couldn’t give me another date until they have an ETA on new equipment. Understandable. I called the office 3 times since then. The last time I spoke to them was over a week ago and told me they would have an answer for me by the next day and asked me to call them back if I don’t hear from them by noon. Never got a call nor did I call them. I decided to speak with the GM who came out and gave me the estimate. . I call him, he asks if he can call me later. That doesn’t happen. I text him, get a response the next. I have to keep reaching out for answers. I texted him now twice and I’m just ignored. Why would I want to spend my money on a business that makes the client do all the leg work for answers? Not to mention per their guidance all of my stuff in the pole barn was moved to the center so they can have easy access. I get to waste more time by moving it all back so that we can use it and end up having to do it all again when we find a contractor to do the work. I was supposed to have a birthday party in my pole barn for a birthday this weekend. Unfortunately that changed because of Covid. I would have been pretty upset if we were still on and couldn’t get the insulation installed that we were expecting to be done 2 weeks ago.

They did not show up the day they were scheduled and when I called they told me their truck broke down. Lost a days pay waiting for them. They came out 2 days later and did the job but when I got home I noticed that the mortar did not match old mortar and a couple of weeks later noticed there are holes that were not filled in. I have called and someone came out to look at it and that was the last time I heard from them issues still not resolved. Would not recommend doing business with them.

Tom Mackey came to our house knowing we did not have a lot of money and needed insulation. He helped us do a home energy analysis and get a loan through a bank to pay for it. He was pushy and his contractor did a terrible job. They completely ripped us off and would not provide a breakdown of the costs. When we finally got a break down it said we were charged 300 dollars to patch two drywall areas the size of a small vent. He originally told me it would be super cheap if we didn't want to do it ourselves. Had I of know he would rip me off royally obviously we would have done it ourselves. 300 dollars to put a bead of caulk around some windows which took maybe a half hour. I could go on. They put in wall insulation and did terrible mortor patchwork on our entire brick house so we have to fix that. These people are scammers. When I wanted to talk about the prices he had already got his money and refused to speak with me. He is rude and I would never recommend these people. My family used to pass out their name but not anymore. Hope they lose all their business. Do not let him refer shepwrack and sons either.

I had several businesses that gave me estimates, and DANA Insulation not only had the best prices, but they were the most thorough, most professional, and was completely night and day from other companies. Even as they went through with what we agreed on, they went above and beyond and did extra things, they treated my home as if it were their own. The job was perfect. I'm really happy with it.

Had a bid done by Tom, and he seemed very well informed, but when it came down to company communication, it lacked! Vents were not delivered on the truck, and verbal agreements were not passed down to the crew working on the job. Communication and recalling of estimate conversations were very poor. The people who installed the insulation were very hard working and seemed informed, but due to the communication gap, I had to call Tom again for him to send someone to come back and replace the attic covering (which he had told me he would do because the one I had was not adequate, but then completely forgot). He also had said he would stop by the site during installation for a time period, but never did. Once the job was done, I never heard from him to see if anything was still incorrect. I wanted to like this company more, its just they need to work on their communication with their customers and their staff

the didn't clean up after themselves much at all and i had to cll them back to finish the job.
Description of Work: added more in sulation to my attic. i had insulation but not enough, company came in added more insulation on floor of attic . they were supposed to split insulation on attic ceiling because prior insulation had been installed with paper side out instead of in. the crew they send didn't really want to do that and i had to ask them to do it. their hose broke while installing the blown in insulation and bothe floors of my home were covered with insulation, which they did not clean up. i had to cll them back to install a door on my kneewall because they didn't have one to fit, but the pretended not to know that it was suppossed to be done, until i called the sales rep and asked why it wasn't done . the first appointment to have the work done was a no show on their part. i finally called the office when they were 2-3 hours late to be informed they couldn't make it and had to scedule a second appointment

They gauged me on the price ($2600). I checked with other companies and said the price is way overpriced. They said it should of not cost more then $1100. They required a deposit and also wanted a bigger deposit then I wanted to give, and some companies don't require that because they have confidence in their work and know they are giving you an honest price. They told me in early October that they could not perform the work until after Thanksgiving (over 6 or 7 weeks). Which I felt was not correct. Some companies give you an extended wait to make you feel the over-inflated price is justified. I felt like they took advantage of me. They had a part time sales person come out and give me the estimate and not the owner. The workers that did the job were excellent at what they did and they were professional. If the company would take responsibility and rectify the situation then I would use them in the future and recommend to others, but if not then I would not use them in the future.
Description of Work: They put in some insulation in the attic. They were supposed to insulate attic flats, drill floor boards and plug as needed. 8 inch R30 All NU-Wall insulation was used. The Salesman was on time polite, and examined the attic carefully asked questions before begining to write the estimate. He even discouraged additional insulation as unnecessary-how refreshing!! The insulation crew called stating they may be late because of road construction, yet they arrived on the promised time. they were polite, professional, left our home as clean as they had entered. I would reccomenend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Three ''caps'' were placed to insulate three uninsulated recessed light fixtures. Two flexable alumminum fixtures were attached to redirect bathroom vapor out of the attic. Because there was insulation previously installed but not properly, continous soffits were added to insure optimum ventelation. When all their ''prep'' work was complete they added six inches of blown celulose insulation giving our attic a R-49.
