BEAR'S BOARDS

Randy's expert refinish of our beautiful, contemporary dining room table is absolutely stunning. A mistake during a small dinner party resulted in damage to the large wood center insert that required refinishing. A major reason why we chose Bear's Boards over several other competitors was the consistent 5 Star reviews for Randy's work. Now my wife and I are adding to that list of 5 Star reviews. Wonderful. Randy did an amazing job refurbishing my chair.

I had some water damaged furniture and my insurance company sent me to a place that left my furniture with cross sanding marks, a rough finish, incorrect coloring, and terrible sinking foam on my chairs. After getting my furniture back I decided it was time to take it to the place I had herd such good things about, BEAR'S BOARDS IN CLINTON TOWNSHIP. I explained to Randy (the owner) that this was my grandmothers set and it meant a lot to me. I didn't even know if the set would be able to be refinished after the damage that was done to it. They went above and beyond with the job they did!!!!! I was informed what was going on every step of the way, asked if I wanted to come in and see the coloring of the set while they started to stain it, and they offered a lot of help in picking out a nice fabric for my chairs. This is a danish modern set and has a lot of detail. They hand sanded everything down to the finest detail, managed to fix all of the deep scratches the prior company had put in it, and got it exactly back to how I remember it when I was a kid. Furniture refinishing can be an expensive process no matter where you go from what I've noticed. Bear's Boards is pretty reasonable (especially for the quality of work) and they take pride in their work. I will never go anywhere else to have furniture worked on!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!!! The craftsmanship was fabulous. The rocking chair is so incredibly well restored that I can't stop looking at it. I couldn't be happier with the result. They are very nice people to work with who really know what they are doing. I almost wish I had something else to restore right now.

Randy is not just a furniture refinisher--he is a craftsman. He took a family heirloom and made it look better than it ever has in my lifetime! The chairs now sit very solidly on the floor and are sturdier than I can remember, and the original quirky inlay pattern with the starburst design looks accurate and handsome. The job took a while--more than two months--but for such detailed work on 75+-year-old chairs, that seemed reasonable, and the wood finish is smooth, natural, and durable--an impressive combination of qualities. I would definitely use Bear's Boards again, especially for antiques, heirlooms, or any kind of quality furniture that I would want to preserve.
