OPTIONS SEALCOATING & ASPHALT PAVING

Had our driveway replaced in May 2021 we were told the driveway would be 3” thick and tapered at 45 degrees on the side. It’s now August 2021 and we called the company with our concerns that we had some areas sinking, grass is growing through it, we have major dents in it and it appears some areas are not even 1” and tapered as per our contract. At the end of the driveway there is a 6’ dip that puddles after rain and takes days to dry up. Brion our contact proceeded to yell at my husband told him they were having a shi**y year and he would not lose sleep over marks in our driveway and hung up on him. Very unprofessional. So much for warranty and all we were promised.

I do NOT recommend this company AT ALL. Horrible service and horrible results. I am embarrassed to have been mislead so badly by this company. DO NOT USE.

We thought they were really good. We checked around and they had the best price.

Short Version: Option's Representative is very professional, courteous, articulate and responsive. Early September: Set 9-28-2015 as earliest date for seal coating. 9-28 and 9-29, Options cancelled. I reviewed Angieslist Comments: The cancellations for weather has happened before. In my opinion the Angieslist comments has a pattern, some customers are satisfied, some are not, almost like the comments are for different suppliers. One of the most favorable comments rates a supplier different than Options. When advised that the Option's procedure required the customer, whose schedule was cancelled by Options, to lose his place in the queue, I cancelled the sealcoating request. In my opinion this "cancel and start over" procedure could continue indefinitely at the complete control od Options. If you can't rely on the schedule, can you rely on the service ?? This is unfortunate and I am disappointed, but I believe the "cancel and start over", procedure should be exposed.

All kinds of promises were made by the sales person regarding the quality of work and what was going to be done. Job was completed while I was at work so it is partially my fault for not being there to babysit the crew. I had waited to proceed on the project because of a water main install on our street that would require both driveway approaches to be ripped up. Once that was complete, I was assured that whoever had did the patch did a horrible job and that they would be pulled up and replaced during my project. Upon returning home, I found that they were not replaced, "see pictures". Exactly what you would want to see when spending that much money. Once I had complained, I was told that once the drive was sealed, you would not be able to tell. I was given a whopping $200 dollar credit and 50% off of their inflated seal coating process which was to be completed the next spring. The next spring, we find the edges of the install breaking apart and several cracks, "see pictures". Bringing this to their attention, I was given excuse after excuse how it is not their fault and they will not repair. If the coating price had not been so low due to the credit and discount, I definitely would not have used them... and I wish I hadn't. After staying off of the drive for 5 days, "they only recommended 2 days", we found that the application was so thin that my lawn mower tires peel it off when crossing the drive. By no stretch of the imagination am I an expert in asphalt or seal coating, but having looked at dozens of driveways in our subdivision, "many much older than mine", I have concluded that Options Paving are hacks. Of course, I am sure that they will have an excuse as a response but you can review the pictures and come to your own conclusion.

They did very good work, but they were pricey.

They were efficient and showed up on time. They gave me a quote over the phone on what they expected it would cost based on the satellite imagery of the yard. They booked a time based on their availability and when they didn't think it was going to rain and they were right. They didn't have to reschedule or anything. The work was done about a month later. Overall it was a pretty good job. The driveway looked nice when they were done. They cleaned it off before they did the sealcoating so we didn't have to do any kind of maintenance or cleanup before they came.

I had a couple of questions I wanted to speak with the owner about, and the lady I spoke with gave me a quote and refused to let me talk to the owner.

We have lived in our home for 20 years and have the driveway sealcoated every year or every other year. This year we decided to check online for reviews before deciding which one to use. We received a flyer in the mail with an estimate for Sealcoating and Crack Repair of the driveway from Options Sealcoating. I called Options and spoke with Kathleen. She was very professional and answered all my questions. I did look on Angies List at the company reviews before we decided to go with Options. The guys came out early as scheduled, they asked if they could trim the grass along the edge of the driveway, and completed the work very quickly! They did a great job. The company is very responsive to any concerns/problems, they obviously want satisfied customers. Our driveway has never looked better!

Excellent price - beat out three other competitors. Catherine was very professional and answered all questions and concerns. Options did a very thorough job filling in cracks and seal coating drive. Complany seems to operate very efficiently. Great company to do business with. I would diffinently hire them again.

The apointment was arranged over the phone and was to happen while I was away at work. The method of payment was leave a check in an envelope in the front door (which I did). They were to Sealcoat the dirveway and do the crack filling. They Sealcoated the driveway but didn't do the crack filling. I called to complain and got nothing, no we'll come out and fix it, no we'll refund the cost of the crack filling (there was additional charge) and not even much of an apology. It's been a couple of years since this happened and I havenot used them since. Several of my neighbors still use them and as far as the seal coatig goes, they do OK work, I would suggest inspecting the work before giving them payent.

The workmanship was excellent. It was done in the month of June, but there was a problem afterward, and I tried to get a hold of the company to fix it. Here I am a month later, and we got a hold of the owner last night. He assumed that everything was taken care of but he's going to come out and patch the driveway. We're not going to pay $5000 to have the driveway patched. He said he was going to get a hold of his sub contractor to come out and fix it. My only problem was it's been over a month and our problem hasn't been addressed.

They were very good. I have a very long driveway and they manged to do in a very timely fashion. They gave me a senior citizen discount. I asked them to pave it a certain way and they followed through with that request. I would highly recommend them. They cleaned up after themselves.

Options was one of the only companies I emailed on Angie's list that actually bothered to contact me. Very professional scheduler and the team that came out to do the work was pleasant and efficient. I will definitely use them again.

There were two men that came out. They prepped the drive way first by cutting back the grass and blowing the dirt off. The used hot rubber sealer for the cracks and brushed on the sealer. The sealed off the driveway before leaving so no o e would drive on it.

I meet with Brian and he sold me, he said he would treat it as if it was his driveway, that sounded to me like he cared. When they started my demo the company doing the job was Bowen paving, they did the whole job without anyone from Options even checking on the job at any point. They did a very nice job. I was not aware that it was to be subbed out. I would not use Options again or recommend them. I'm happy with the final outcome but not with the miscommunication. Maybe if I was aware that they were not doing the job this review would be different.

Quick and reasonable response for price quote, easy to schedule work and punctual execution. Quality looking finished job, durability of seal coat is average.

Because of rain or a forecast of rain, a date or time could not be pre determined. The job was performed while we were not at home. The cost was per the estimate given.

Nicely done, good prep and clean-up. Will use them again

Their prices seemed very low and because I that I did not use because it was too low and I did not trust them based on everything. They did not even tell me about the product that they were going to use. They sub-contract the asphal to someone else. The woman was nasty when I decided not to go with them and she had the audacity to tell me that I spent an awful lot of her time on the phone answering questions. I did not like what I heard and I even told her that her price was too cheap and I felt that something was not right and I was concerned about them watering down on the products they used. They were great at first and the woman answered a lot of questions, until I started question more thoroughly. They seemed very professional on the phone. I would not use them if I don’t know what I am getting.

We had a very good experience with this company - from initial contact to estimate, to work performed.

Chose this company based on ratings in Angie's List, they seemed very reasonably priced, but apparently are having problems with scheduling. I planned to be there when they did the work, but because of their not being there when they said they would I ended up just leaving them a check for the quoted amount ($120). The invoice they left me had $20 knocked off to apparently make up for the scheduling problems, which was at least an attempt to satisfy me (they cashed the $120 check anyway). Quality of the work was quite good, they did more than I was expecting for the price.

They arrived when they said they would and worked in a professional manner. They knew what to do and I think they did a good job, so far I am pleased with their work.

If I hadn't posted a report on Angie's list I don't think I would have gotten the same service, but I'll never know. If Options had not re-done the driveway I would not do any future business with them, I will now. Thanks to Options and Angie's List

I called on Sunday when we returned and left a message trying to get them to call me back on Monday to let me know what happened and why the work wasn't done. They didn't call me so Monday afternoon I called and they made some excuses. I told them not to come back at all.
