J P Lawn Sprinklers

JP installed the sprinkler about 15 years ago and has replaced heads & repaired leaks over the years plus winterized the system every fall. Their service hasn?t been particularly bad but we never felt it was anything to rave about either. However, this spring we called to have a leak repaired that they had fixed previously. The earliest they would send someone out was in 3 weeks. The leak was so bad we had to turn off our water outside. We told them we were 1) without water in the garden, 2) this was a repair that they had "fixed" before, and 3) that we had been loyal customers for 15 years, but it didn?t matter. The day before we had written down for the apt. we called to find out when they would come?only to be told that they had us scheduled for 5 days later. We do not believe we got the apt. wrong?but in any case, we felt it irrelevant because at that point the delay between call and repair (again, for work they had previously done) was 26 days. Seriously?! After 15 years I scheduled an apt. with another company. Positive, you can generally get a person when you call and they return your calls.

installation- did a very good job. It was complicated. However, the prices for upkeep (opening and closing) were pretty high. So- would have them install it but use someone less expensive for up keep. The actual charge for opening and closing was reasonable, but any problems cost a lot to repair in labor charges.

They had to come out twice to do the work. They opened up the sprinklers, and I told them that at least 2 of the sprinklers didn’t work and there was a big problem without the main valve. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize though they did understand what I was saying about the big leak. They completely missed that. When I had them run in the next day, I noticed a great big stream of water and they came back the next day and fixed that. They didn’t charge me for coming out. They just charged me for parts and labor, so it was good.

I have dealt with JP for years, which is great because I don't have to look for a new company each year. They are easily the most hassle-free company I have ever used. They are reasonably priced, always show up as scheduled, and are very knowledgable. In the spring, they take the initiative to look over my yard to see if I have made any changes and they recommend adjustments. If only all service providers were this easy.
