The old fireplace was rusted and had to be replaced together with the flue and the covers at the top of the chimney. The project was done on time and at the cost within the limits quoted initially. There were no cost surprises at the end of the project. They also work with a credit company that can finance the project for a good deal (no interest for 18 months at that time). The team was professional and they finished the work on time (the actual work took about two days). The cost was maybe a bit more pricey than the average, but the job was well done and without extra costs or surprises at the end.

Excellent service at a reasonable price. We have used Clean Sweeps since 2001 for several years for Chimney Repair and cleaning. They have always done good work for us. When they did an expensive repair job for us in 2007 (over $2200), I worried that we were being sold more than needed. But that work solved our problems and has held up very well for many years now. They said the entire chase cap on the roof needed replaced at a cost of over 800$ for stainless steel because of the rust and being 35 years old. They implied that it should not wait until spring but my inspection proved them wrong. I don't like strong armed tactics and their two hours of labor for two people to clean two chimneys is excessive when no replacement parts were involved. Cleaning the second chimney that will never be used should have a discounted price when we are considering removing the fireplace completely.

He said that he could not clean the chimney, because our old wood-burning fireplace insert did not meet current code. He said code now requires a chimney liner when using an insert, and we just have the insert. He said he would send an estimate for lining the chimney to code with the existing insert, and an alternative estimate for installing a new gas insert and liner. He noted that the chimney was fairly clean. He said the chimney cap was starting to deteriorate, and it would be a good idea to have the cap worked on sometime in the next couple of years, but there was nothing urgent about it. [It is my understanding that the law does not require updating existing facilities to current code, but I appreciate his professionalism in the matter, and he may have licensing reasons for not working on something that does not meet current code.] Since he was not cleaning the chimney, he did not charge anything for the visit.

They were accommodating of my work schedule and really made an effort to complete the work as my schedule dictated. Andy and the crew were clean, courteous, professional, hard-working and did an excellent job! I noted their materials were superior to what other companies had used in the past. When weather prevented final completion of the job, Cliff was quick to return and complete the work as soon as the weather allowed. I now have a fire-safe, odor-free, relined chimney, new crown cap and exterior damper, and the all the brickwork has been waterproofed. Their price for work was lower than competitors. Staff were courteous, polite and professional. They were also very thorough and did a great job with clean up. Due to a miscommunication at the office they came out a couple hours early, but apologized for the inconvenience.

Three years ago, this company sent a team to clean the chimney of our newly purchased home: they found serious problems, and suggested that we needed to fix them before using the fireplace. They gave us three options, and we decided to go with a new wood burning stove/fireplace, which, they promised, was powerful and efficient enough to heat the whole house. It was very pricey, but, in the end, well worth it. We adore our fireplace, and it really does an amazing job heating (though we don't use it to heat the whole house). All of the workers they've sent have been extremely courteous and knowledgeable. I find the reception staff a bit brusque on the phone, but the owner and his wife are a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them -- and should note their honesty: they reduced the original bill when their worker realized that the outside problem with our chimney was less serious than originally thought. This saved us a couple of hundred dollars. Just be sure to print out the online coupons when they come to clean your chimney each year!

The experience from initial contact, quotation, and through installation was professional and friendly. The installers were on time on the day scheduled. The hardware was as described, pricing reasonable. There were no surprises in the installation or in the final price. We paid exactly as it was quoted. The installation was done in a day. All was cleaned up after they finished. The unit looks great. It has been used almost every day since installation and performs as advertised. We wish we had done this sooner as it is much more efficient than the old fireplace.
