Terry at Remax in Cheboygan showed us a home. She met us at the home with her husband with her. I figured hey it's up north we're pretty casual up here. We gave her a list of questions that we had about the property. She never got back with us. This was a serious sale that was lost because we never were contacted again.

Talked to Michael Sherwood extensively about home lost to reverse mortgage. Told him we had to get this house back wanted to see interior to check for damages not obvious i pictures because of known recent history and made appt to meet in less than 3weeks. Were told no problem house won't sell before spring, price will probably drop again. Said would call if received "any" other offers. Called week before appt date says can't meet driveway not plowed can't get in. When arrived next week neibors all say lies even the guys partner says driveway was always plowed. House was sold Friday" to bad" but I can show you others!!! This man lied to our faces & snuck around to sell behind our backs. It may have been legal but he is morally devoid! Had to have had personal interest in sale somehow. Wasn't even given the chance to up the offer, gone without warning in only a couple of weeks. Do not trust this man!!! Lost money spent on loan approval travel expenses (was 200 mls away) actual out of pocket $400.00

We put in an offer on a home with the contingency that the inspection went well. The inspection did not go well and we just want our good faith deposit of $1000.00 back. The realtor and Associate Broker at Remax Carol Steiger is holding onto it and wont give it back because she said it was an as is sale.......really who in their right mind would by a house as is???????? She sat right in her office and told us if we so much as find an electoral socket that does not work, we could cancel the deal and get our deposit back. DO NOT TRUST THIS PERSON. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and now here....If I have to take her to court to get our $1000.00 back I will. I will update this as soon as I get more information.

Earnest money deposits are strictly regulated by State real estate regulations. In order to release a deposit we are required to have a signed release by both the buyer and the seller. Our office represented the seller in this transaction and the complainant was the prospective purchaser. When the buyer requested a refund of her deposit because of several issues in the inspection report and the buyer would not renegotiate the already reduced price, the seller requested a copy of the inspection report to verify the claims of the buyer. The inspection report was received after several requests to the buyer, the seller signed the release and the deposit was refunded to the buyer immediately thereafter. The issue was resolved quickly (within the week) and in compliance with proper protocol. Complainant should be cautioned against slanderous remarks and making accusations without knowing the requirements of regulated accounts. The sales agreement specifically state that the home was being sold in "as is" condition. This was a 35 year old home and every home, new or old will have imperfections. As a Realtor, I have a code of ethics that I comply to and this transaction was handled professionally, in compliance with the code and in accordance with State laws. We strive to have happy, satisfied clients on both sides of the transactions and unfortunately that does not always happen, as is the case in this incidence. I've been in the real estate business 33 years and have never been involved in a dissatisfied client related law suit or had a negative finding by the BBB. No legal action was filed, the complaint filed with the BBB was unsubstantiated and our file is closed.
