 + -1 moreOverall, had an excellent experience. Mr Platschorre was easy to contact and professional.
Description of Work: Refinished two dressers, two night stands, one bed frame and headboard, and one mirror frame. Stripped old lacquer, stained to original color, and finished with lacquer. Did an excellent job restoring to original condition and color (Heywood-Wakefield). Picked-up furniture and delivered. Tim is a skilled refinisher and cabinet maker who takes pride in his work. He had a several week backlog of work but completed my job in the 5-6 week time frame as communicated when he bid the job.

 + -1 moreThe end result in both cases is wonderful. We have had several other furniture refinishers and restorers work on pieces for us and Tim is clearly the best that we've ever found. On the other hand you have to be prepared to wait. He is not punctual with getting work done in the time estimated. In the case of the dry sink it was several months longer than we were initially told. While I have put a February 2011 date on this, that is when it was brough back. Work on the dry sink started 10 or 11 months prior to that date. I understand, after talking to him when it was delivered why - there were several emergent complexities that made it a difficult process, but there was no communication during the several months unless we would initiate it, and even then it was at most a new estimate and no details about the issues. While I am estatic about the outcome, I didn't like the long gaps in communication and the lack of information. He is very personable and no one does a better job, but do go with your eyes open.
Description of Work: He refinished a china cabinet (grandmothers originally) and rebuilt/refinished a dry sink liquor cabinet
