They were in and out in a day. Had I not been told by my neighbor, I may not have noticed the job was done. He is a retired City worker and had nothing better to do than watch them. He said they were fast and efficient. Their cleanup was amazing. I found one partial shingle on my lawn and nothing else. I would use them again in a heartbeat. The price they charged was excellent also. It was several thousand less than my next closest estimate and half of what Erie Construction wanted to charge me.

Went great very impressed overall. My only hiccup was they called last minute to reschedule from a Saturday out to a Wednesday. Very polite and apologetic though so not a huge deal really.

Representative was very professional. After the inspection, he went over the findings with me and answered all my many, many questions. Of course this was also a sales call of sorts, so he did write up an estimate, but there was no pressure to buy or make a commitment, they just did what I paid them to do (inspect my roof), gave me the results, discussed options with me and that was it. I was very pleased.

Friendly and professional estimator who arrived when promised. Work was also completed when promised. Would use them again.

My experience, so far, has been positive. Phone calls were returned promptly by Andrew. The roof and attic were inspected at the time of the estimate. I decided to have them add more insulation in the attic, while they were doing the roof. The condition of the decking could only be guessed at at that time because it was not visible. Instead of four new sheets, they needed twenty, which did not surprise me due to the former ice buildup in the back of the home. Work crew of eight or nine arrived as scheduled, placed plywood in front of my windows to protect them, laid tarps over my landscaping and around the entire home. All men were responsive to any questions I had. Andrew stopped by the two days they were working to check on the progress of the job. I have no complaints about the clean up after the crew left. Have not found any nails or debri. Work was completed in two days. Andrew came by with the bill and to do a final inspection. He found that they had forgotten to put in the two pot vents over the garage. The work crew was back within two hours!!! We also found a crack in my driveway from the company that delivered the shingles and placed them on the roof. It was quite obvious where they had driven and cracked it. Andrew has assured me that the cement will be replaced by that company or his. He will also bring some extra shingles in case they are needed in the future. My only "complaint", if you want to call it that, was the cost of the plywood and installation of it. I thought it was on the high side considering the cost of plywood. I did agree to that price at the time of the estimate, however. All in all, I am glad I did my research on Angie's list, reading all reviews of many, many roofing companies.This company was not the cheapest or the most expensive but I feel, for what they did, it was a fair price and am confident they will respond to any problems I may have in the future. There are so many roofing companies out there, and I am glad I went with this company. Highly recommend them.

Andrew arrived at exactly 10am and did a complete examination of our roof. He found 3 areas that required some caulking and completed the job in about 30 minutes. He gave me a completed checklist of all of the things that he inspected and he included the areas that he caulked as well.

I had 3 estimates from Angie List recommended providers. Melvin Belk did honest complete inspection, made recommendations and explained fully the work to be done. They were very low pressure in sales presentation incorporated the best of all three estimates into their final sales proposal. The work was done on time, when they said it would be done and the crew was professional throughout. The clean up was outstanding (almost no dropped nails or old shingle parts). 9 months later, have not had any issues at all (wanted to wait to post to make sure the work held up through the winter months). I would highly recommend this company for any roof repair/replacement.

Very professional. Didn't take long to do and was concerned at first how long he was sitting in his truck until he came back with a very detailed report including pictures. He explained what he did and the condition of the roof. He explained how long he thought the roof would still be good for and how to make it last longer. He gave a detailed estimate on having the roof done and did not give any sales pressure to get it done which I appreciated.

Very responsive to our request for an estimate. Arrived on time and Jeremiah was detailed in his explanation of the work that he was proposing. Showed us samples of the product and explained their use on the roof. Since our initial problem was the performance of our gutters, he recommended that we see how they performed after the old two layers of roof was removed and the new roof installed. With the Angie's List coupon, their work was within other proposals we had received. The day of the work the large crew arrived early. They covered everything so no damage could occur. The crew was professional and efficient. The roof was completed by 3:00 pm. They cleaned up everything and picked up their dumpster the next morning. Jeremiah followed up the next week with a visit to give us the final bill (which was adjusted due to wood not used for repair) and to discuss their warranty and any problems we had with their installation. A minor problem occurred with a neighbor's sprinkler head, but this will be resolved by Jeremiah. Very satisfied with their responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism, and workmanship. Would recommend Melvin Belk roofing contractor to anyone considering a new roof.

Jeremiah V. was so knowledgable and patient with my many questions. He knows how to do an excellent job and gave us all the details we needed. The crew worked together like clockwork and got along very, very well! The teamwork was a pleasure to watch and the roof was done in a through, detailed, and professional way. Andrew Belk was the only contractor that was on time for each appointment as we decided which roofer we wanted to go with. Belk came in below all other estimates received. We had an ongoing issue with ice back up on 2 separate cathedral ceiling areas we have - they recommended a very good ice/water product & would go up 9' vs. the typical 6' during their re-do. I used to roof many years ago & have to say the quality of work I reviewed as they went along gives us every confidence our issues have been resolved. Belk's crew of many (must have been 8-9 total) came in & finished the tear off & re-do in 2 days. Very impressive. I'd recommend Belk to anyone!

I was very happy with Andrew and the team and Melvin Belk Roofing. They did a great job, worked fast, cleaned every day, and were less expensive then the two companies that scored higher on at Angie's list. The other really nice notable was that they did not attempt to up sell like the other two companies. I don't mind a small amount of up selling to a more profitable product line or to other services but wow the #1 company on this list tried to run my job up to $14k... Melvin Belk came in and quoted what needed to be done and completed the job in a satisfactory timeline and other than my new looking roof you'd never know they were there. I appreciated working with them and will only be recommending them to my friends and family moving forward.

Andrew came out and diagnosed the problem which was a couple of missing shingles and then explained that we needed a new roof. we then called and got quotes from other roofing companies which also confirmed we needed a new roof. we gave the job to andrew because he was the only one that fixed the initial leak at no charge and they also had the best price. this in addition to all of the A ratings on Angie's list. Andrew helped us with picking out the appropriate shingles and his mother came out and helped us with picking out the right color. they came ouj, worked hard all day, were friendly and professional and did a great job putting on the roof. . I would afterwords they cleaned every thing up to my satisfaction I highly recommend Belk Roofing company for all your roofing needs...from diagnosis to solving your problem they will do a great job for you.

Andrew responded quickly with a quote on site. They were very busy so we waited approx 2 months for the work to be done. It wasn't an emergency so we were okay with that. Materials started arriving the end of September so we knew we were getting close. A roofing team arrived and completed 90% of the work in one day. They came back the next day to finish up. From the start of the job to the end I had asked about the problem area and had concerns the roofing team didn't understand what was needed. Andrew was not on site for the job and we had a hard time communicating with the roofing team. They were from Texas and didn't speak English very well, at least to us. We weren't surprised that the problem area did not get the special attention we requested. Andrew came out to the house and looked at the work and had the roofing team back out to do the job right. I believe it has been done right at this point. I am hoping we don't have any issues this winter and spring. I had expected more based on the reviews I saw on Angies list. I am not sure we would use the provider again.

We had a great experience. Jeremiah answered my many questions and was willing to work with our special situation with mold (other roofers either overcharged or didn't even respond to me, or get back to me with quote). Will to order different ridge vents than the standard (because of the amount of leaves and pine trees around our house and my concern over needles getting into vents). I would have to say I was very happy with the work they did and flexibility as it took longer than expected and had to work around the mold remediation folks and myself (I was painting with special fungicidal paint after mold remediation). They were reasonable in cost. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I was extremely impressed with Melvin Belk Roofing. I had called three roofing companies, two returned my calls and came out. The first did not even go up on our roof to check out wind damage and missing shingles from a recent storm. It was sprinkling. Andrew came out from Melvin Belk Roofing that same day (it was still sprinkling) got on the roof, took pictures of multiple areas that were damaged, re-positioned our attempt at tarp coverage and added it to another area. He documented water damage inside in more places and sent all documentation to our insurance agent. Without this, I feel our insurance company would not have paid what they did for the roof. Never having filed a claim before, Andrew walked us through the process and explained what to expect. Once approved for payment, Andrew came back with color samples, recommended a color we ended up choosing, and love. Roofing was scheduled, his team came out early in the morning about a month later, all of us left for work and Melving Belk Roofing went to work. I came home at 5:30 and all was finished, all was clean and the roof was beautiful. The whole process was less painful and better done than I had expected. We are very satisfied with this company and would recommend to anyone.

It was great!! They brought in an entire crew and had everything done and complete by 7:00PM. They cleaned up everything and we could not be more pleased. All of the crew was very pleasant and professional. They all had an assignment and completed everything that was needed to be done. Great experience and we would recommend them to anyone wishing to have roof repair/replace done. Excellent.

It went very well from the first phone call through the finish of the repair. We got the estimate scheduled fairly quickly (I think it was two or three days after I called, not bad considering it's roofing season) and received a written estimate the day he came. During the estimate visit, Andrew was professional, knowledgeable, and patiently answered the long list of questions that I had. Once we decided to go with this company, the repair was completed in just over 2 weeks, which was within the 2-3 week time frame that Andrew had expected. The repair itself went smoothly -- the repairman worked diligently to get it done in one afternoon and he cleaned up well. Based on our experience, I definitely recommend Melvin Belk roofing. They are professional, there weren't any surprises, and they did well what they said they would.

Jeremiah came out and evaluated the issue from both inside and outside the house. He was very honest in telling us that it likely wasn't a roof leak, but rather an issue with water getting in the window seal from the second story window above the bay window. He recommended we get that resealed and of it didn't solve the issue, they would come back out.

I needed an estimate for a roof. He said his dad didn't want to give an estimate because my home has a rounded edge roof.

They had to tear down , repair wood underlayment quite extensively, reshingle and change to new ridge vent. They came in and did the whole job in ONE DAY!! We were flabbergasted. They had a huge crew- I think 9 guys- and they all worked non-stop tip the sun went down and they were finished. The entire neighborhood was in awe. Mr. Belk is a character but came in the morning to get them started and then came about 3/4 of the way through the job and supervised until the end. He is loud and shouts orders to his crew, but let me tell you-there is no fooling around!! Their salesman-Jeramiah- is absolutely wonderful, tells you the whole story, takes his time to answer any questions, and also comes after the job is finished to wrap it all up. They were amazing-and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Totally professional job and the way work should be done but rarely is these days. My partner has done a lot of roofing but we whose to hire it this time so we knew what to look for, both in product and in workmanship. Fine job all the way around!

It went very well. Jeremiah was very patient with my MANY questions and second guessings. We'd had an ice dam leak over the winter and were very concerned about many factors pertaining to our roof and ventilation. We interviewed 5 different roofers, and while we were impressed by 2 of them, Belk's pricing beat the other by $2500, eventhough the exact same work and materials were to be done. About 2 weeks after signing the agreement for work, Belk's crew came to do the roof. They did complete tear-off, replaced 10 roof-boards (we paid for 5, as 5 were where pot vents once were), re-roofed, tore off shed roof and re-roofed all in one day. They began at 8am and were finished by 8pm. Melvin Belk oversaw the process and answered many questions along the way as well. They were a nice and considerate crew and did a good job on clean up. I have found very few nails or shingles. They did a good job of protecting plants and covered our kid's sandbox. They also put all the patio furniture back exactly how we had it beforehand. They had one of their subcontractors do our continous soffits. He was a nice man, but we did have a few instances where he had to leave for personal reasons. It seemed to take longer than necessary, but he did a good job once complete. Overall they did a great job.
