BDD CONSTRUCTION

BDD estimate was 30K more than our other estimate, for a scaled back project. Had to stay within our budget so did not use them. Biggest area of over-pricing was the roof project which was 11K more than our estimate from another contractor. Great people to work with, just too much money.

Had the company come and give me a bid on a basement project. Was told I would have the quote by January 21. Called the morning of the 26 to see what had happened because I had seen no quote. Was told they would get right back with me. It is now the evening of the 27 and I have heard nothing. Very disappointed. Was excited to get something going.

They did fine and we didn't have any problems with them.

I was very please with the quality of work provided. We had a very challenging project and home and they were punctual and tried to give us the best deal possible without sacrificing quality. I would use them again.

Finished on time....about three to four weeks. Fixed all punch list issues promptly. Great team. I worked out in writing what exactly I would be responsible vs. contractor. Came in on budget. Nice work....house looks great. Very honest. Would use them again!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with BDD and felt that they were the best option in every way. They were willing to work with changes we made along the way with design, their bid was more than reasonable, and every step of the way they were flexible and a joy to work with. They are a family owned business and we truly felt that care for our wishes at every step. I am eager to work with them again on several other projects. They always had our best interests in mind and looked for opportunities to save costs without sacrificing quality.

It didn't.

A window in the basement was leaking at the top of the frame. We thought that window was at fault, but the contractor eventually determined that the window on the first floor (directly above the basement window) was leaking at the bottom and the water was running down the front of the house and in the top of the basement window. They also found that the home builder did a poor job of sealing the front of the house, so a "simple" job turned into a major one. However, Bruce and his crew at BDD did an excellent job, stuck with it, and resolved the issue to our complete satisfaction.

I was making a lot of improvements to the home at that time. I thought that they really good job and I didn’t think they were really expensive. The salesman was Bruce and I think he is the owner also, but I don’t recall his last name. They did a great job and we were really happy and pleased with the work that they did. Everything looked really good and they did it in a pretty timely fashion too. They do pretty good work and it feels like they know what they were doing.

I'll begin by saying we are high maintenance people, and Dave (BDD) met our needs in every way. Their company is a family business run by three brothers and their father. We began process by requested detailed quotes from 5 remodelers that our friends have had experience with. Dave provided the most detailed quote (line item), and was willing to work with us for almost a month to revise the plan and cost until we were happy. In the end the price quoted was cheaper than anyone else. Dave started the job on time, and was ahead of schedule for most of the project (until we started making changes to the original plan). He is a strong communicator, and very responsive to our changing opinions and concerns. Quality of his work - which was our highest priority - exceeded our expectations ... and when work was not to our liking, Dave corrected immediately with no griping whatsoever. I highly appreciate that. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the timeliness of project completion, the quality of work, and Dave's total focus on customer service. We've worked with a dozen+ contractors before Dave, and can say BDD is our best experience. Having recently moved to Grand Rapids, we were very pleased and lucky to have stumbled into him. We will do all our work moving forward with BDD, and we highly recommend their service. Paul

THE PRICE WAS OUTSTANDING FOR THE WORK DONE. THE SPEED AT WHICH THE WORK WAS FINISHED WAS NICE TOO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE NEEDING WORK DONE.
