Description of Work: We needed a new one car garage door. We contacted four companies including both local Overhead Door companies (Lansing & Mid-Michigan - it is very confusing to have two Overhead Door companies in the area). Precision Garage Door was the only one with a door in stock. It is December in Michigan and we didn't want to wait 3-6 weeks to order one before it could be installed. This company is out of Redford MI with a Lansing office, has great Angie's List reviews as well as other online reviews, the estimator (Casey) was able to come the next day (all the others were 2-4 days before they could give me a quote) and was extremely knowledgeable and professional, the telephone rep was so customer oriented (no pushy sales pitch). I gave the deposit over the phone, the installer (Frank) came the next day and the door was installed in less than 2 hours. We chose the upgraded door (better hardware) which made it significantly more expensive than the over-the-phone quotes I got from the other companies but we were willing to pay to have it done immediately. If I ever need to replace the other door I will call them.

Description of Work: Called Scott on June 11th around 9am. Informed Scott that my garage door springs had broken and that I needed them to get replaced asap, Scott arrived 2 hours later on the same day and within 30 minutes got the job done. The charge was a very fair rate of 145.00 which included labor and parts. Friendly and professional- would highly recommend using this company

Description of Work: In two visits, they tightened an important mechanism for raising and lowering the garage door. In a second visit, they replaced the garage door opening mechanism and added a keypad opener. I am pleased to have a garage door that opens easily and works every time. Professional Tim and Nick were both great. I trust them!

Randy quickly and easily found the problem, gave me some options, and also some good advise. I would not hesitate to recommend Precision Door Service.

 + -1 more- Installed new rollers & cables and inspected door (Angie's List Big Deal promo). All work completed professionally by Bill S., (the technician) He inspected the door and pointed out that the spring was over ten years old and may not last much longer. (I called him back just under a month later when my spring broke.) - The only sore point in the original appointment date was that the show time was set for between 9 & 11 am. After he didn't show up and had not called, I called the company at 11:45 am to inquire. Derrick told me he had been double booked. I received a call from the technician at 12:30pm and he was here 20 minutes later. The work took 40 minutes to complete. Being a night shift worker, I had stayed up that morning for this service. I told of this problem on a survey offered by the company, but they never contacted me about it. I did use this company again, because I believe in their quality of service.

He said I needed a new spring which would be an extra $350 in addition to the Big Deal cost. I paid for it and they replaced the spring. However, it sounds louder than it did before and makes a clicking noise, so I need to follow up with them about that.

 + -1 moreThe tune up went great. I only had a small window of time for them to come out and they managed to meet that time frame and did an outstanding job. They also gave me a discount on my second door and got that working just as well. My doors went from sounding like two pieces of metal grinding against each other to a well oiled machine.
Description of Work: The provider replaced and updated my garage rollers and tracks and tuned everything up. One of my tracks was completely broken and they managed to fix it without having to completely replace the door, which saved me about $700.00.

 + -1 moreI felt our door was on its last few times of working: bad noises, not moving well and just sounding like I squished a cat when it moved. Not good. I thought why not give $129 a shot to prolong the thing till next year. I called to make sure Precision Door covered my area and they did for the Big Deal. They did and scheduled me out 2 days. Perfect timing. The guy called and said the Big Deal would take care of most of my problem but the "end bearings" were going out making it not operate smoothly. He asked if i was going to replace my door soon, if so, don't put the money into it. I said I wanted this door as long as possible. He replaced the parts and left the others for me to look at. I looked and felt the bearings like he said, one was smooth, the other could hardly move. Good choice on his part Randy Olson was the service tech and I would call him first if i ever needed service or a new door. A++++ experience!

 + -1 moreHe arrived on time and proceeded to evaluate the componentes of my garage door. He explained the condition of my doors hardware and what he could do about it. Their hardware is far better than the standard. He replaced the hardware, cleaned up, explained what he did, and left. A much better experience than I had with Overhead Door when my garage door wouldn't open a year earlier.
