I purchased this promotion as I've been trying to revialize a slightly out of shape yard. Tuff Turf Molebusters appears to have good reviews and the price was a draw. After buying the promotion I received a message from the company within the next few days asking to give them a call back so a time could be selected for the service. The cost of the aeration did end up about $20 more (around $60 total), as they mentioned that my yard at 1/5 an acre was larger than the promotion covered. I didn't feel this was a big issue. I ended up selecting a date that was about a week away. The individual on the phone seemed courteous enough. I took a risk, and was not around during the hours that the service was completed. I made sure they were aware of this when scheduling. Came home later and was relatively satisfied with the work. There weren't any missed spots in my weirdly shaped yard and most the aeration holes were fairly clean. The grass was torn up in a few spots but I'm going to attribute that more to the state of my lawn. The plugs that come up are unsightly but mulch back in the yard within a few weeks. Overall, worth it.

They were very good about contacting me when they were scheduled to come out both with a phone call and an email. That gave me the opportunity to make sure all my sprinkler heads were flagged. They came on the day they said and everything looked fine.

It was fine, except the service was performed later than I had expected. I called in July, they said they probably couldn't do it 'til August, but promised to try. I didn't hear from them, so I called at the end of August, and they finally showed up in the first week of September.

excellent communications (multiple emails plus a phone call) leading up to the actual work date as well as "in case of bad weather" plans... they drove up, unloaded their core aeration machine, poked a million holes in my lawn, packed up and went on their way with no disruption to my schedule. got exactly what I wanted at a great price.

I had a communication problem in the past. However, they are very responsive to my calls and emails. They will get back to me right away. They have an automated system that will call to remind you of your up coming appointments. In the message it says to call with any questions or concerns. It can be difficult to re schedule. They do a very good job. They are also very prompt and the lawn looks better than it has ever looked. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Their service is wonderful. They call ahead and they are here on time for the appointments. My yard never looked so good. I really like their work. The price is well worth it because I don't have to worry about the moles and problems they cause.
Description of Work: They come once every two weeks. I pay for the full season but they don't start until the snow is melted. I have a five acre yard and the moles are terrible. They come to spray the perimeter of the home and remove any moles in my yard. The spray prevents the other moles from getting in.

Very poor I had to pester the contractor to get an appointment. The products dispensed had absolutely no effect on the lawn, even though I followed their instructions as directed. I think if I would have ground up the cash and spread it on my lawn, the grass would be greener and more weeds would have died.

Upon arrival to the customers lawn, it became evident that the lawn was not in good shape. Our technician noted that the customer had a lot of wild violets growing throughout the yard. Wild Violets are a ground cover, not a broad leaf weed, thus not affected by our weed control. They need an aggressive program to control, not one application. The lawn also contained several bare spots and was in dense shade. We noted that in order for a lawn to flourish, it needs more sun. We also informed the customer that he was mowing his grass too short. He has several major problems with his lawn. One application of fertilizer and weed control will not resolve any of those problems. However, if he follows our advice about allowing more sun, mowing higher, seeding bare spots, and getting on an aggressive program to control the violets, his lawn will improve.

It went pretty good but usually when I get stuff like that I like to be home when they do the services but they keep coming when I'm not home and I don't like that. They came and I wasn't home and I didn't even know when they were coming to do that. I didn't notice a difference in the treatment because I wasn't experiencing any problems before they came.

They killed several strips of grass, but not the weeds. I have strips of dead grass from their heavy equipment. I have never had lawn care before and thought I would try it because it looked like a good deal. His responsiveness was timely and professional, but when my problem persisted and I asked for my money back, his attitude turned defensive. The "provider response" says that I did not co-operate but I did! I did everything they said to do to get my lawn to respond--for the grass to recover. I watered twice daily for an increased amount of time as they said I should, even though I had been watering once daily before they came out. I have underground sprinkling so it is very easy for me water appropriately. They were very accommodating to fit my time schedule. I did cancel the first time because they told me they would not be able to come out for a few weeks and then left me a message on my voice mail that they would be right out and I was not ready for that. Then they came out on the hottest, driest week day. I asked if it was too hot and dry but they said no and I asked if we should mow before or after they came out and they said it did not matter. I tried to follow their instructions--as they are the professionals--but the outcome was just a failure. I will say though, that they did offer to give me my money back in the end. That was generous of them--even though I have a lot of repair work to do.

When the customer had purchased the “Big Deal” we placed her on the schedule immediately. From time of purchase to the time of service it was only 6 days. I had also contacted the customer within 24 hours of purchase in order to setup the service. Our first service date was unsatisfactory for her, as she called and told us that she was only available on Mondays or Fridays. We made this happen and that same week we were able to come out to her home. After we told her we could make it on Monday, she replied that she was only available in the morning. At this point we had rescheduled the entire work day to fit her needs 3 times. After the front yard was completed, our technician applied fertilizer and weed control to the backyard by hand. During this time frame the customer walked the lawn with our technician. They discussed some things that the customer can do to improve the status of her lawn. At no point did the customer make it evident that she had not been watering her lawn. The customer called a couple of days later to let us know that her lawn was burnt and to get some help. We immediately told her that we were very sorry for the problem and that we would take a look at it. That same day our General Manager drove out to look at the customer’s lawn. Our equipment left heat tracks in her lawn. Heat tracks do not kill the grass, they only cut off water supply to the stem. We recommended watering twice a day and that would allow the grass to grow out of the damage created by heat tracks. There is no way for anyone to tell that a GREEN lawn is under drought stress. If a lawn experiences heat tracking, only the blade has died because the blade cracked at the crown. With proper watering it will recover in a couple of weeks. Instead it is recommended that the application or service not be performed during the hottest time of the day, which we did not. Here, Kevin Frank of Michigan State provides a short paragraph that describes this instance: http://msue.anr.msu.edu/news/heat_tracking_damage_on_lawns. It should be noted that their 21” push lawn mower also left heat tracks in the same area of the lawn. With an increase in watering, heat tracks dissipate in just a couple of weeks. The customer refused to believe that this was the problem and insisted that we left chemical burn all over her lawn. She did not want to take any advice that we offered her, nor did she want to believe the science that we provided from Michigan State University. The customer also gave us an F for responsiveness. From the above paragraphs, you can see that we contacted her within 24 hours of purchase; rescheduled to fit her every need 3 times in 6 days; gave her instruction on how to remedy the tracks at the time of the concern; travelled to her home on the same day of the concern; followed up the next day with the problem and the remedy.

came to do my yard and I did not know they had started. When the front yard was completed the service person went to do the back yard and could not get in the yard because their maching was too big for my gate. I offered to take the gate post out so the machine would fit through and the service person just said he would let the boss know and left.

All of our customers receive both a one-week notice and a day-prior email and phone call before service. This is to ensure that customers have plenty of time to mark anything underground or to reschedule service if need be. Since this customer did not return either of our calls or emails, we assumed he was ready for the service. Our big deal does note that it is required we have at least a 36" gate in order for us to service an area. While the customer knew that he had a small gate, he failed to include this in his decision as to whether or not he would purchase the contract. He did purchase the contract and upon arrival it was determined that we would not be able to do the backyard due to the size of the gate. The customer then asked that we do a "FREE" fertilizer application in place of the aeration. We told him we would not do an application of fertilizer because this is not what he purchased. After we had declined his offer of a “free application of fertilizer” he became frustrated and wrote us a bad review. We notice that the customer noted in the review that he offered to remove a fence post so we could get in. This was never brought to our attention until we read his review. The customer also noted that the core aeration was $60.00, the price was in fact $42.00. After reading the review, we offered to come back out and do the core aeration again if he removed the fence post. He declined our offer.

Tuff Turf Mole Busters was very organized and did a great job with the Fertilization. To date I am still using them for this. However, I was not as satisfied with the Mole removal. They started out very good but as the time for the expiration of the service came closer they ignored the main mole tunnel that was in front of my house that I originally called about. Then after the service expired I got a email stating that they saw activity and wanted me to re-up for another 1 time payment. The one time charge is expensive and I felt like they bait and switched me. Very professional and punctual and let you know when they will be there.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I really liked it. There were no extra charges and they did a great job. They came right away, they did a nice job, they did exactly what I wanted them to do, and they were in and out in about 20 minutes. I was really pleased, I'm going to have it done again this year. The pricing was good too.

First agent was very takeable explained all the traps he used which ones not to use and what poison pellets they used. . He walked around house with hand spreader took maybe five to six minutes and left. I could have purchased volt and mole control from Home Depot or Meijer and saved my self $35 and did it my self myself.

[member name removed], You purchased vole repellent for the beds. Yes you could have purchased the product at Home Depot and done it yourself. You chose to hire us instead. It does not take long to spread 5 pounds of vole repellent in your bark beds. That only takes the time to walk around your house. You were given instructions on how we control moles, despite hiring us for vole control. Why is the grade so harsh? We did everything we said we would, then threw in our expertise and suggestions at no extra charge so that you are able to handle your own mole and vole problems. We notified you when we were coming via email and a phone call. We were not aware that you wanted us to knock on the door when we arrived.

Everything went well, except that I did get weed patches in the back yard from areas that seem to be missed by the sprayer. They scheduled the time to come and an automated message was left on my voice mail, so it wasnt like I scheduled anything. Later after the services were done I received an email stating that my yard was much bigger then what the offer was for so, I got the bill and was told that even though it shouldve been for essentially anther 79.95, they would only charge me 30.00. So I paid the 30.00 extra.

They performed the work as schedule, were very courteous, professional and competitively priced. Our home is "key holed" in a wooded area . The mosquito population this year is especially dense, to the extent that our yard was unavailable for any enjoyable activities. Going out at dusk for even a few minutes meant getting several mosquito bites. The spraying by Tuff Turf Molebusters significantly reduced the number of mosquitoes. The use of our patio and yard area is now much more pleasant. We also contract with them for catching and reducing the number of moles and for treating our lawn with fertilizer and weed prevention. There customer service and performance is superb in all aspects of their business. I highly recommend Tuff Turf Molebusters.
