My driveway was rutted out and needed repair. I talked with R J at Livingston Ashhalt and Concrete. He recommended crushed Asphalt and gave me a fair price for about 250 feet of driveway with a turn around. R J and his crew showed up on time and did a very professional job. When the job was complete it beat my expectations. I would highly recommend Livingston Asphalt and Concrete.

I would not recommend this company for concrete work. My concrete patio under my deck turned out horrible. They did not have enough concrete to finish the patio and had to wait 1 1/2 hours for more concrete to be delivered, as RJ did not order from a local concrete supplier. The concrete had already started to dry and they had to attempt to blend the two batches, which left a permanent dark area and an extremely rough and uneven surface. RJ, the owner, took no accountability for the concrete shortage and blamed everyone but himself, despite the fact that he did all of the prep work himself and took all of the project measurements without a crew to assist. I also stressed multiple times to RJ that I wanted a very light brushed finish, which they did not do. The brushed finish is rough looking, rough to walk on and is inconsistent throughout the patio. They did not take the time to cut a smooth edge along the expansion paper running along the house or around the deck poles leaving many rough and raised areas of splattered concrete, which looks horrible. There was also concrete splattered all over my door wall and vinyl siding that I had to clean. They did not take the time or pride in paying attention to the finishing details. RJ was not professional and became very argumentative and was yelling at my husband when he was told that we were not satisfied with the final outcome of the project. RJ never apologized for the mistake of the concrete shortage only stating, "it happens." RJ guaranteed that the dark area of concrete would fade to white and said that he would return in two weeks to follow up on how the concrete looked after drying longer. RJ never returned and was never heard from again nor did the dark area fade to white. RJ did arrive on time for the job and was friendly when giving the estimate, but did not communicate well after starting the project and had an attitude toward me when questions were asked. A BIG RED FLAG! RJ not only did not like being asked questions, he did not like being checked on throughout the project. When I called him with my concerns on how the concrete was drying and about the dark area that looked horrible, he told me, "you have been riding me throughout this project and you need to have patience." Not a very professional way to speak to the homeowner, especially since I was nothing but accommodating to him, as I said nothing when he brought his dog without permission, as his dog defecated in my yard and dug holes around the tree she was tied to. I also provided RJ with multiple bottles of water and allowed him to cool off in my home during the extreme heat. I do not recommend this company due to poor quality workmanship and lack of professionalism and accountability.

They gave a detailed written estimate. They were on time, worked hard and did a great job. I plan on using them again in the future.
