Lakeside Service Company

I got quotes from a two heating and cooling companies around the Ann Arbor area and Lakeside one was one of them. The gentleman who came over to gave me the quote took the appropriate measurements for the roof vent which the other company neglected to do. He also actually opened the units front panel off to check the specs while the other company did no such thing. Their quote was also less than the other company but not by much. I decided to go with Lakeside because I felt like they were more professional. The person who came out to give the quote has actually done this work before in the past while the other company just sent out what appeared to be a receptionist. The other company also made me feel like I needed to act fast before they were all booked up for the winter. Lakeside made no such claims and were very flexible with my installation time. I got a quote on Friday and at 8:30 the following Monday they were already here ready to perform the installation. They put down a drop cloth to keep my floors clean while the installation was done and answered all questions I had during the installation. The install only took them just over 3 hours. I was very impressed with the speed and completeness of the job. I have not had a chance to run the furnace very often since I've gotten it but I've had 0 issues so far. I would use them again when the time comes.

The technician looked at our furnace and found a diagnostic code for a pressure sensor. Rather than immediately replacing that part he took the time to actually diagnose the issue. He looked for obstructions in the intake and vent line. Eventually he found we had placed garbage cans too close to the vent pipes outside which was causing the issue. The charge was minimal as a result. This entire company from the scheduler to the technician was highly professional. I simply dont run across this level of service often, so I am happy to recommend them. I will not use anybody else for heating, air conditioning or plumbing.

Lakeside technicians are always prompt and conscientious. They explain what needs to be done and what parts may be needed immediately or in the future, so you can plan ahead for non crisis repairs. Tyler suggested a new part that could be replaced today or could wait for a future repair. His explanation of how replacement now could also improve performance & electricity usage helped me decide to go ahead with the part rather than wait. It was nice to be given a choice and not be pressured to repair/spend more money immediately. He also was able to solve a mysterious issue causing our 3D floor mini split heating/cooling unit not to work properly. Although this wasn't planned repair, and Tyler was more of a maintenance tech rather than repair tech for the company, he generously worked on and solved the problem in spite of costing him a lot of extra time before he even began the furnace maintenance. This saved us having to schedule an additional service call. Everything was done very neatly and efficiently. I've always had great service and installation experience with Lakeside for many years. I highly recommend them for new a/c or furnace or hot water heater as well as plumbing repairs.

Lakeside is amazing. They are all so knowledgeable and fix problems quickly. I have had them service my furnace and do ALL sorts of plumbing and one of the reasons I would never call anyone else is because they are all so very kind and very professional. I know the job has been done correctly which has not been the case with other companies. If you are reading reviews trying to decide who to have out to your home, do yourself a favor. It went very well. I was super impressed with making my appointment and with their responsiveness. They remembered I said I had to leave for my daughter's soccer and new it would be tight so called and checked if it would still work. It wouldn't and they quickly got me in for another appointment. I was so happy that they did not try to jam me, instead they were proactive and called ahead. The actual appointment was quick efficient and friendly. I would certainly recommend them.

His service was excellent. He explained problem to me and reviewed possible corrective actions. He was very professional and promptly finished the repair. He also arranged a maintainence contract for my furnance and a visit to provide an estimate for the air conditioner replacement.

Scott was my technician. He is very professional, thorough, and he provided us a portable ac unit to get us through the unbearable hot days until he could get the parts to fix my AC. I highly recommend both scoot and Lakeside.

My annual bill (which is debited monthly) is less than what one of these services would cost. Tyler called and confirmed the appointment and arrived when he said he would. He explained very thoroughly everything he was going to do and asked pertinent questions about my impressons of the AC performance. He also reviewed previous maintenances and compared that with his inspection of the AC unit. After he was finished, Tyler explained his findings and the work that he performed, taking the time to show me the data and making sure I understood the information that he presented. The AC had increased output after he completed the mantenance and he was able to complete everything in under 90 minutes. One thing that always impresses me about Lakeside Service is the customer service skills each technician has and the professionalism that is clearly instilled in each employee of this dependable and reputable organization. If you need HVAC work done or need to update your system, I recommend Lakeside Service without hesitation or reservation.

I contacted them and they promptly called me and set up service. I wanted three things done. One, check my water heater to make sure both elements were working because it seems to take a long time to recover . I wanted a new check valve installed in the basement septic pump and the pipe sealed with silicone. They send someone out, but, they send out two different techs without warning so we were charged for two service calls for these simple tasks. The heating elements were working and the tech, without checking with us, turned up the temp on the water heater. There is no doubt that will probably help with hot water recovery, but, we have small children so I think we should have been asked whether we wanted this changed or not. The second tech came out an hour or so later and replaced the check valve in the septic line. I also wanted the septic pipe sealed with silicone but this was never completed. I had bought some silicone to do it myself but I figured while the tech was there, I would just have him do it. He just told my wife to have me do it. I was emailed an invoice for the check valve service, but, not the water heater service as we were invoiced by both techs. I responded back to the email asking for an invoice for the water heater service too and I got no response. I emailed them again two days later and they still didn't respond. That day I got a copy in the mail. I have no doubt things were probably done right and they were prompt but I just feel like I was overcharged and I wish they would've responded to my email about the invoice. UPDATE: I spoke with a customer service rep and they are taking the extra service charge off the bill. I'm not changing the previous grades from the review but it should be noted that they were working with me on my biggest complaint above.

Technician was professional and knowledgeable, and quickly identified the problem. Was in and out in about an hour.

They were AMAZING and they worked so fast. It was super cold out and sprinkling but still went on the roof. Mike also told me about my basement cast iron pipes that were rusting that I needed to replace in the future and took the time to show me why. They were friendly and knew what they were doing. I am so glad I called them.

They are a great company. I have purchased two furnaces from them and a water heater. The men are always very nice and even the people I talk to in the office are very nice. ?

We were having problems with out furnace cutting out. I called Lakeside around noon and they were at our house by 6pm that same day! It was one of those super cold weeks and Lakeside were there to help. They cleaned our furnace ignition switch and recommended a supplier to get a new one if in the future or quoted us to replace it if we did not feel comfortable doing it ourselves. The technician stated the current piece still works and should last a while if we kept it clean. Super friendly. Super helpful. Did not charge a same day fee. Would DEFINITELY recommend this company.

We sold a home in Michigan last year and we had it for several years. We always had great experience with Lakeside. They were the ones we used when we lived there. We had a very positive experience with them. I believe that they had serviced our home before for the owners who had our home previous to us buying it. We were living down here in a different state and had the house up for sale and I could not remember the name of the company and I looked them up on Angie’s List. I think they have always been reasonable and very fair. In that instance, we were not there. So, we had to trust that they would do what needed to be done and at a fair price and they certainly did that.

Prompt from bid to work appointment. I'm a repeat customer and Lakeside is a very honest, professional company who I trust. Great work; Great products; Great price. Very knowledgeable, responsive and friendly staff. Also clean, good quality work.

Jim from Lakeside Service arrived at the beginning of my service estimate window, & was very friendly & professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and took multiple actions to solve it; one of which was due to homeowner error, the other luckily covered by a manufacturers warranty. Jim also went above and beyond, servicing our dual furnace humidifiers, and answered my endless questions about furnace operation, gas lines, water heaters, insulation, etc. Literally over a hundred questions cheerfully & knowledably answered. I have also signed up for a complete home heating/energy audit due to my complete satisfaction with Lakeside.

I left work to meet the estimator from Lakeside at 11am at my house. At 11:15 I call them and was told that they made a mistake and the estimator was at a different appointment. The person on the phone said he would come out to the house if I could continue to wait and for the confusions he would "take care of me". 45 minutes after 11am he showed up. I explained that he was second to quote and that I had 1 already and proceeded to tell the estimator I needed a quote for the A/C unit, line set and A-coil installed. I was not changing my furnace it was working fine. He insisted on doing a complete home survey, measured every room in the house, counted every hot and cold air return, etc.. I tried to explain the 3 Ton A/C system has work perfectly for 20 years and was already sized properly. After he finished I had spent 2.5 house at home plus another 1/2 hour to get back to work. The price he quoted was approximately 50% / $1500 higher than the other well know HVAC company in Howell that quoted me the day before. The Lakeside quote and the other quote were very much apples to apples as the unit were both seer13 rated the newer refrigerant, etc... All and all it was a bad experience.

After having Lakeside Service Company perform service work on our furnace, we knew that we would have to think about purchasing a new heating system. The sales person (Conor), measured all the rooms in our house to determine what type of furnace would work best for us. He suggested a Carrier Infinity Furnace with a Two Stage Variable Speed ECM Blower. We also chose to have an Air Purifier and a Humidifier installed as well as a new Infinity Touch Control thermostat. The sales rep also explained the various discounts available, including a complete refund to us of our prior service call if we purchased a new furnace and components, plus a free 1 year service agreement is included. We decided to purchase this system and had the installation scheduled. I would like to point out that Conor was a no-pressure type of person...didn't try to convince us to buy anything that we didn't want. That was good enough for us! The installers (James and Don), arrived on-time. They covered all flooring surfaces that led to the furnace in the basement. Their attention to the care and cleanliness of our home was greatly appreciated. The installation went smoothly without any problems. After completion of their work, they explained the entire system to make sure we had a full understanding and answering any questions. Don, not only explained the multi-function, fully programmable thermostat, but even programmed it for us based on our needs. James was very thorough in explaining the paperwork and associated warranties. Like our prior experience with Lakeside Service Company, the installers were very courteous and professional. We are currently comfortable and enjoying our new Carrier Infinity Heating System thanks to everyone at Lakeside Service Company.
