We get that sometimes things don't work out as you had planned -- but in our many years of home ownership, we have never had a wood floor that has looked so horrible in such a short period of time than the floor that Reimer coached us to buy and installed. After almost a year of going around with manufacturing reps, etc. and even speaking with Dennis Reimer himself -- Reimer was only willing to give us a small credit toward a new floor. We have one small dog (8 pounds) and our floor is scratched like we have a fleet of dogs running around; the edges of the floor are chipping and pealing and there are significant gaps between the boards where food and other morsels get caught ... and still Reimer will not stand behind the product that they recommended. $30,000 later will be heading somewhere else to replace our horrendous looking wood floors. We are certain that there are stores out there with more integrity and care for their customers than Reimer. We strongly encourage anyone looking for a quality, long-lasting flooring solution to steer clear of this local store with a big box attitude.

Excellent. Riemer has a ton of options to choose from & their staff is great. Sales rep Karl was very knowledgeable and helpful. The installer was very experienced. He did a great job removing the old carpeting and installing the new. Very few smudge marks on the painted walls which I also appreciated. Highly recommend.

They installed new carpeting in house (all rooms) 3 years ago. Two of the rooms developed buckled areas even though they are low use areas. When we called Riemers for service they were not receptive to servicing our carpeting. Maybe it was a misunderstanding between them and my wife. They did call back after a few days and offer to send a service person at no cost to look at the problem. The service person came to our house as scheduled and re-stretched the carpeting in the two rooms with the problem. So problem solved for now.

Salesperson was extremely helpful and reviewed the entire process. Installer was on time and answered any questions I had.

We payed $10,000 for their best carpeting and 3 years later we have to hire a repair service to re-stretch the carpeting. We called Riemer's and they were not friendly and wanted $75/hr per person just to come out and look at it. also told us that there was no warranty for carpeting loosening up and buckling past 12 months. I think we should have just purchased the carpeting from Home Depot and saved $2500..

The sales experience was friendly and the store has a huge selection of products in all price ranges. The super nice gentleman installing the laminate wood floor did outstanding work, including some incredibly challenging areas. The flooring is absolutely beautiful! He gets an A+. The carpet installers' job on the stairs doesn't look as neat, but they were fast and friendly....they get a B. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would happily recommend this organization, and would use them for future work.

My wife and I met Dave Ohlinger at Riemers showroom, he schooled us on carpet and set up a measuring. He is OUTSTANDING, very knowlegable, kind and professional. I asked to have the top installers, and out came Mario and Brad. I am very finicky but these two guys were fantastic ! They came out on two seperate ocassions because we were doing the main floor first and the basement second. I cannot say enough on how pleased we were with the whole experience, from dealing with Dave to the guys who delivered and picked up the old carpet, to Mario and Brad who did the install. Wish I needed more carpeting........

The whole process started when we had to tear up carpet that had been repeatedly peed on by our cat... which revealed some old tile beneath that was starting to pop up. I removed the tile easily since the adhesive had already failed. However, that left a bunch of glue stuck to the cement slab. I removed what I could, but it was still stuck in the pores of the cement. So at that point I was facing the prospect of putting down self-leveling compound across an entire 12x23 room, in order to prevent the remaining glue from seeping into any newly installed flooring. Instead of trying to lay the SLC myself, I decided to see if a carpet installer could do that part of the prep work before the install. Karl at Riemer Floors was very helpful from the very beginning. I explained my situation, and he said it should be possible to do what I wanted (skim coat over adhesive, then carpet). He helped us pick a carpet we'd be happy with in our living room, and set things up as quickly as he could, since half of our house was unusable as a result of the mess. We picked a Karastan brand carpet since he mentioned that those typically come in pretty fast (took about 1.5 weeks). It was a SmartStrand Silk, which hopefully will hold up to moderate traffic, but so far we love it! The carpet was on the pricier end, but we wanted a dense, plush carpet so we didn't mind paying extra. Part of the job was supposed to be skim coating the entire slab with Ardex Feather Finish, in order to lock in the adhesive. However, there was some confusion with the order, and the installers simply used the Feather Finish to patch up two heavily cracked areas of the slab, then installed the padding and carpet directly over everything. I talked to Karl about it, and he was more than happy to make things right. After researching, it turns out the Feather Finish is cement-based so it wouldn't have locked in the adhesive anyway, so I simply got a partial refund for the labor & materials for the skim coating. Also, about a week after I had signed the order for the carpeting, I saw that Karastan was having their "National Karastan Month" promotion with rebates. Unfortunately I couldn't qualify for the promotion, but Karl threw in a free conversion of the carpet remnants to make a rug. I was overall very happy with the process, and will likely go to Riemer Floors again when we carpet our upstairs.

As was expected, Riemer Floors was professional throughout the process. The sales person was available, informative, and brought out samples or provided samples as required to make our decision. The carpet quality is really what you want to purchase, but the quality of installation was excellent. Installers asked the right questions and when there was a potential issue or question in the installation process, they communicated the issue instead of just doing the work. We were included in the process, where needed, to eliminate future misunderstandings. We had a minor issue after the fact that needed a service person who was prompt and corrected the situation to our satisfaction.

The first shipment had some stain or discoloration down the middle. Reimer caught it before install when they rolled it out in the store. Had to be re-ordered. About another 1.5 weeks but a 2 day lead time on the install. While it is unfortunate issue, it can happen and was not their issue. They took care of it all as expected. they did such a good job making sure they cleaned up, they took the extra ~ 1 x 12 foot of carpet I paid for (I always make sure I keep a bit of extra). I have a call into them and expect they'll make that right too.

They were so nice when they came out but they did not have the product that I would like. They treated me so good and they made me feel very comfortable and felt like I was related to them. Very professional.

Sales: Bruce was very helpful and not pushy in selecting our floor in store. He was able to accommodate my abnormal flooring situation where I wanted to install over ceramic and hardwood in multiple rooms. Additionally, I was preparing to sell my home and he worked with me to minimize the cost while still maintaining a quality job. Two of the stair trim pieces were not used by the installers as they informed me they prefer the metal version for longevity. They informed me I could return these pieces and receive the cost back but I was instead told these were special order and could not be returned. Due to my multi-level flooring situation, I should have received reducer moldings but instead received T-moldings. Installation: Jay and another guy (sorry I can't remember his name) were extremely professional and courteous during the installation. I was very comfortable to have them working in my house with my family present. They arrived on time and worked very efficiently for about 6 hours. They made use of the ordered T-moldings as best as possible but the finished look would have been better with reducer moldings. I don't fault the installers for this minor issue. After installation I noticed my half bathroom door was harder to close due to the new molding installed under it. This issue got worse as the temperature rose. A quick sand of the door would have fixed this minor issue. The finished product looked great and helped sell my home in 1 day. I will start with Riemer Floors for my next flooring job.

They worked a long day and did the work all in one day. We really appreciate the work they did, and we love our new carpet. I would recommend them to anyone.

We have used their services for about twenty years. Karl Oberer is the salesperson we always deal directly with and he has been great! Their service is excellent and their performance is professional. We would definitely use them again for any other needs we may have.

Disappointing & stressful! Went to the store to make selection ( a laminate product) & sales rep came out to measure. Accepted quote & scheduled an installation date. Removed all items from kitchen except refrigerator (table, chairs, etagere & counter items such as coffee pot, toaster, microwave). Flooring was delivered & stored in garage but on day of installation, we were told the product we selected couldn't be installed due to the unevenness of the existing floor (obviously, not a consideration when floor was measured). Explored other possibilities & went to another company which was identified as a major distributor - the sales rep there recommended a Mannington Adura product, came out & measured & gave us a quote; however, we decided to go with Riemer (despite their quote being higher for the same product) because we weren't comfortable with that rep & had been initially impressed with the Riemer installer's knowledge. Several weeks later (all the while, continuing to live in disarray), the floor was installed over a 2-day period. Glue & marks were left on the newly installed floor, the kitchen cabinets were chipped, nails were exposed, closet doors not rehung properly, black fingerprints on the walls & doors. Had to postpone kitchen painting until issues were resolved. After phone & written complaints, a service tech came out, assessed the damage & took photos. A week later, two service techs came out to make repairs, the only professional people we dealt with during this process. I was planning on purchasing carpeting from Riemer next year but will not use them again based on this experience!

We worked with our salesman, Dave Ohlinger, who was such a nice guy. We started out with purchasing carpet for 2 bedrooms. It was a good experience - so we got the master bedroom carpeted. His installers were great......I had already signed an agreement with our contractor to install our wood floors - so after looking for floors at all the places he wanted us to go, without satisfaction, I went to Reimer. Dave helped me so much - pulled out numerous samples, let us take samples home over and over again until we found the one we wanted. My biggest regret is we didn't have Reimer install the flooring. It looks great. Then we started looking at carpet for our basement - went and saw Dave - same thing - numerous samples, changed my mind several times, but Dave was patient as could be until I finally made up my mind. We LOVE our basement carpet. Working with Riemer was a great experience and Dave was the best !!

They did an awesome job. They worked with us to put the seams in the carpet where we wanted it. They whole job was professional from the start to the end.

Got 5 different quotes from quality contractors. Really wanted a turn key job where I was only dealing with one company. Most of the others wanted me to provide the material for installation or be responsible for hauling away the old carpet and tile. Riemer provided the most complete quote and a very competitive price. My wife and I visited their store and decided on the color and style of hardwood. The wood we chose was not in stock so we had about a two week wait to begin. We were told that the job would take a week to complete the demo work and hardwood install and an additional day for the baseboard. It actually took two weeks and a couple of more days to install the baseboard. Mike did all the demo work, subfloor leveling, squeak repairs and hardwood by himself. He did a superb job. We had an awfully squeaky subfloor. So bad, in fact, that I couldn't walk into the bedroom without waking up my wife. Mike is the squeak terminator! He also did a particularly nice job of mixing different lots of wood to give the floor a very interesting look. Larry installed the baseboard and we were very pleased with his work as well. Overall I thought we got exceptional value and quality work. As I said, the work took longer than expected but that wasn't a big issue for us. I was kind of surprised that no one from Riemer ever followed up with us to make sure we were satisfied with the work or to explain how to clean and maintain the floor but I believe they would have stood behind their work had we encountered any issues. I would recommend them to anyone.

It went very well. Dave Ohlinger was my sales rep. He was wonderful to work with, very accomodating, understanding and easy going. Mike Bechtel installed my wood floors. He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to have in my house for a few days. Even my dog liked him, and he doesn't like anybody! The carpet guys were fine, very quick. I'm very happy with how my floors turned out and I would recommend Riemer Floors.

We started looking for a kitchen floor in Oct. of 2013; I had no idea how complicated and confusing this project would be; we considered ceramic, porcelain, linoleum, wood and tile; each, with the exception of tile seemed to carry some sort of baggage, be it price or not being able to find the right color or issues with the product. I did a lot of research on the internet about products and how the job should be performed and after we decided on tile, "Alterna Luxury Vinyl Tile" we started with companies on Angie's List and after having a couple of companies out to measure and explain how the project would be executed, we chose Riemer Floors Inc. Pat Gahman came out to our home, measured, answered all our questions and was right on target with what I had read on the internet about how the job should be executed. He was patient and understanding with our questions and understood what an undertaking this had been for us. He set the order date and start date of which took place exactly on time. Our installer was Pat, another Pat; he was very professional, respectful of our home, on time every day, courteous, social, worked hard, and took pride in is work; a perfectionist, which is exactly want I wanted. The whole experience from start to finish was a success and I would recommend "Riemer Floors Inc. for your project. LW

I called them out because there are a number of cracks in the wood, the product itself. I've gotten splinters from the floor because the product isn't good. The workmanship is bad as well. I can't say how many planks you can actually roll a nickle between the planks. The whole floor is like that. I called them out and they said it meets the Michigan code so there is nothing they have to do to fix it.

My review about this company isn't good or bad. It just is. I called this company and asked them if they could install hardwoods that I had just purchased, their answer was: "No". I asked them why and he said: "Because we are better". I asked him what his name was and he said: "Brute". Very unfriendly
