We get that sometimes things don't work out as you had planned -- but in our many years of home ownership, we have never had a wood floor that has looked so horrible in such a short period of time than the floor that Reimer coached us to buy and installed. After almost a year of going around with manufacturing reps, etc. and even speaking with Dennis Reimer himself -- Reimer was only willing to give us a small credit toward a new floor. We have one small dog (8 pounds) and our floor is scratched like we have a fleet of dogs running around; the edges of the floor are chipping and pealing and there are significant gaps between the boards where food and other morsels get caught ... and still Reimer will not stand behind the product that they recommended. $30,000 later will be heading somewhere else to replace our horrendous looking wood floors. We are certain that there are stores out there with more integrity and care for their customers than Reimer. We strongly encourage anyone looking for a quality, long-lasting flooring solution to steer clear of this local store with a big box attitude.

Excellent. Riemer has a ton of options to choose from & their staff is great. Sales rep Karl was very knowledgeable and helpful. The installer was very experienced. He did a great job removing the old carpeting and installing the new. Very few smudge marks on the painted walls which I also appreciated. Highly recommend.

They installed new carpeting in house (all rooms) 3 years ago. Two of the rooms developed buckled areas even though they are low use areas. When we called Riemers for service they were not receptive to servicing our carpeting. Maybe it was a misunderstanding between them and my wife. They did call back after a few days and offer to send a service person at no cost to look at the problem. The service person came to our house as scheduled and re-stretched the carpeting in the two rooms with the problem. So problem solved for now.

We payed $10,000 for their best carpeting and 3 years later we have to hire a repair service to re-stretch the carpeting. We called Riemer's and they were not friendly and wanted $75/hr per person just to come out and look at it. also told us that there was no warranty for carpeting loosening up and buckling past 12 months. I think we should have just purchased the carpeting from Home Depot and saved $2500..

The sales experience was friendly and the store has a huge selection of products in all price ranges. The super nice gentleman installing the laminate wood floor did outstanding work, including some incredibly challenging areas. The flooring is absolutely beautiful! He gets an A+. The carpet installers' job on the stairs doesn't look as neat, but they were fast and friendly....they get a B. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would happily recommend this organization, and would use them for future work.

My wife and I met Dave Ohlinger at Riemers showroom, he schooled us on carpet and set up a measuring. He is OUTSTANDING, very knowlegable, kind and professional. I asked to have the top installers, and out came Mario and Brad. I am very finicky but these two guys were fantastic ! They came out on two seperate ocassions because we were doing the main floor first and the basement second. I cannot say enough on how pleased we were with the whole experience, from dealing with Dave to the guys who delivered and picked up the old carpet, to Mario and Brad who did the install. Wish I needed more carpeting........

The whole process started when we had to tear up carpet that had been repeatedly peed on by our cat... which revealed some old tile beneath that was starting to pop up. I removed the tile easily since the adhesive had already failed. However, that left a bunch of glue stuck to the cement slab. I removed what I could, but it was still stuck in the pores of the cement. So at that point I was facing the prospect of putting down self-leveling compound across an entire 12x23 room, in order to prevent the remaining glue from seeping into any newly installed flooring. Instead of trying to lay the SLC myself, I decided to see if a carpet installer could do that part of the prep work before the install. Karl at Riemer Floors was very helpful from the very beginning. I explained my situation, and he said it should be possible to do what I wanted (skim coat over adhesive, then carpet). He helped us pick a carpet we'd be happy with in our living room, and set things up as quickly as he could, since half of our house was unusable as a result of the mess. We picked a Karastan brand carpet since he mentioned that those typically come in pretty fast (took about 1.5 weeks). It was a SmartStrand Silk, which hopefully will hold up to moderate traffic, but so far we love it! The carpet was on the pricier end, but we wanted a dense, plush carpet so we didn't mind paying extra. Part of the job was supposed to be skim coating the entire slab with Ardex Feather Finish, in order to lock in the adhesive. However, there was some confusion with the order, and the installers simply used the Feather Finish to patch up two heavily cracked areas of the slab, then installed the padding and carpet directly over everything. I talked to Karl about it, and he was more than happy to make things right. After researching, it turns out the Feather Finish is cement-based so it wouldn't have locked in the adhesive anyway, so I simply got a partial refund for the labor & materials for the skim coating. Also, about a week after I had signed the order for the carpeting, I saw that Karastan was having their "National Karastan Month" promotion with rebates. Unfortunately I couldn't qualify for the promotion, but Karl threw in a free conversion of the carpet remnants to make a rug. I was overall very happy with the process, and will likely go to Riemer Floors again when we carpet our upstairs.

As was expected, Riemer Floors was professional throughout the process. The sales person was available, informative, and brought out samples or provided samples as required to make our decision. The carpet quality is really what you want to purchase, but the quality of installation was excellent. Installers asked the right questions and when there was a potential issue or question in the installation process, they communicated the issue instead of just doing the work. We were included in the process, where needed, to eliminate future misunderstandings.
We had a minor issue after the fact that needed a service person who was prompt and corrected the situation to our satisfaction.

The first shipment had some stain or discoloration down the middle. Reimer caught it before install when they rolled it out in the store. Had to be re-ordered. About another 1.5 weeks but a 2 day lead time on the install. While it is unfortunate issue, it can happen and was not their issue. They took care of it all as expected. they did such a good job making sure they cleaned up, they took the extra ~ 1 x 12 foot of carpet I paid for (I always make sure I keep a bit of extra). I have a call into them and expect they'll make that right too.

Sales: Bruce was very helpful and not pushy in selecting our floor in store. He was able to accommodate my abnormal flooring situation where I wanted to install over ceramic and hardwood in multiple rooms. Additionally, I was preparing to sell my home and he worked with me to minimize the cost while still maintaining a quality job. Two of the stair trim pieces were not used by the installers as they informed me they prefer the metal version for longevity. They informed me I could return these pieces and receive the cost back but I was instead told these were special order and could not be returned. Due to my multi-level flooring situation, I should have received reducer moldings but instead received T-moldings.
Installation: Jay and another guy (sorry I can't remember his name) were extremely professional and courteous during the installation. I was very comfortable to have them working in my house with my family present. They arrived on time and worked very efficiently for about 6 hours. They made use of the ordered T-moldings as best as possible but the finished look would have been better with reducer moldings. I don't fault the installers for this minor issue. After installation I noticed my half bathroom door was harder to close due to the new molding installed under it. This issue got worse as the temperature rose. A quick sand of the door would have fixed this minor issue.
The finished product looked great and helped sell my home in 1 day. I will start with Riemer Floors for my next flooring job.
