Property Care Hardwood Floors

They were able to fit me in on short notice on a Saturday. Tom and crew arrived on time and did a great job installing the flooring including transitions to (2) carpeted bedrooms and a ceramic tiled bathroom without the use of expensive transition moldings. For the 2 transitions that did require moldings, they came back out to install them at no additional charge. (I was not able to have them on site the date of the initial install). There was one minor issue with the install of the transition molding at the front entry... I called the office and someone came out a couple of days later to correct it at no additional charge. The house was left reasonably clean when they left (there was some sawdust and they did not haul away the scrap) They were not the cheapest quote I received but were very competitively priced and lower than the company that Lumber Liquidators recommended. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Tom & Barb came to my home to inspect the area and provide a quote. We proceeded to schedule an install date. Tom, Missy & Tom stated as scheduled. They were true professionals with a commitment to precision, quality and excellence. Their finished product was superb and they cleaned up nicely after everything was done. I was very satisfied with their workmanship. I plan to use Property Care for future flooring projects.

Barb "The Mom" fields the Calls and Tom "The Son" is The Estimator/Carpenter. A "Tight-Run-Ship" from Estimate to Finish. Very professional and the whole outfit was really into their Craft. A Very "Workman Like" Job!!!!!! No complaints only Praise. Hard to believe I got all that work and materials for The Estimated Price. Tom even stopped in a few days after work was complete with Floor-Maintenance Instructions and some "Goodies". Will use "P.C.H.F." in Future and I do recommend their Services.

Tom and Barbara were great to work with. They were called in when another company made a mess of refinishing and my floors had to be replaced. They were hired by the first company to come in and rescue a bad situation. patient, punctual, clean, polite, and perfect!!! Could not be more happy. Highly recommend!

The floors turned out AMAZING! Tom and Barbara were extremely knowledgeable and patiently answered ALL our questions. The crew who did the sanding and refinishing were very professional and helpful during the process. They showed up on time, took great care to 'close off' their work area, finished early and left us with beautiful floors! It's only a shame that we don't have more floors to do!

Amazing experience - if you want real pro's, hire these guys. You won't be sorry. From the beginning, they were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Tom listens to what you want and he gets the job done. They always show up when they say they will and leave the house at the end of the day as clean as possible during construction. Their price may be a little higher than other contractors, but trust me, they are worth every penny - they do not cut corners and the end result is absolutely beautiful floors. I couldn't be happier.

This is a family who knows their craft, obviously love what they do and take great pride in their work. Tom first met us at the house to take measurements. He provided us with two detailed quotes the very next day. His quotes made our decision an easy one. They 1st removed 270 sq ft of carpet and installed unfinished hardwood which was blended with existing hardwood floors. They subcontract the sanding and refinishing to another partner company just as meticulous as they are. They were all very patient with us during the project and answered all of our questions. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable with our choices. There were some things that were beyond the scope that they just took care of for us. The floors are awesome and have enhanced our home tremendously.

Of all the people that have worked on our house, they were the best! They were professional and friendly, did excellent work, and had immaculate clean up after the job. I would definitely recommend them for flooring work.

Everything went well. They were reasonably priced and knowledgeable, and I was happy with the work.

I called mid-December, 2012 and asked for an estimate. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and asked for some basic information. She did tell me they have a policy of a minimum price which would be equivalent to 200 sq. ft., even if our room was smaller. This seemed fair to us and we scheduled an estimate. She also forewarned us that they may not be able to fit the actual service into their schedule before the holidays; we were not in a hurry so this was also agreeable to us. The estimator arrived precisely when scheduled, 5pm on a Friday evening. Gave us a quote of $700 for sanding & doing a seal. Explained that if we wanted a stain it would be approximately .25 cents more per square foot. The estimate was right in line with what my husband had figured it would cost. We waited until after the holidays to arrange the service. We called around Dec. 27th and they scheduled us for the week of January 7. Because my husband and I both work, we made arrangements for the crew to access our house while we were gone. This worked out perfectly. When I came home from work the first day, the floor had been stripped and sanded. The 2nd and 3rd days the seal was applied. As they finished the third day, they contacted us and payment was made. Each day the crew made sure the door was locked when they left. There is a half-dollar-size spot where it appeared the sander went too deeply into the wood, but it is close to the wall and not real noticeable. I personally would have liked some contact from the crew as to what had been done each day, but this didn't bother my husband at all. Final bill was exactly what was quoted. We love the floor. It has brightened up the room and has me wishing there was more in the budget so we could do the bedrooms too!

We found property care on Angie?s list and decided to quote them. We were quoting a refinish of our kitchen hardwood floor. We were pleased with the competitive quote as we quoted 3 other companies(from Angie?s list). We went with Property Care because they seemed to be really genuine about customer service in answering all of our questions with patience and promptness. Some of the other companies weren't as focused. They told us what to expect during the process ( takes about 3 days) and were very accurate in their description. They even helped move the stove, refrigerator around, which was a big + in our book. Most of the other companies didn't offer that service. Our floor looks brand new! I really liked the suggestions of what finish to go with from their staff. It worked out very well! We are very well pleased with Property Care?s: professionalism; pleasantness; integrity; pricing and customer service focus. We would highly recommend their services.

These folks are professional, conscientious, responsive and hard working. I originally decided to contact Property Care after seeing an Angie's List review from someone else that had also had a small job done. My husband and I knew that even though the overall square footage was low, most companies can't even touch it without applying a minimum charge to cover the basics, and we understood that. But we also didn't want to have to overpay for such a small project. Some companies only want to handle the larger jobs and want nothing to do with smaller ones. I initially contacted them in November with the hopes of completing the installation before Christmas, and was informed right up front that they were pretty booked and couldn't promise anything. They came out right away to do a measure/quote (in the evening after a long tiring day of doing installations, I'm sure) and said they would try to fit us into their very tight schedule before Christmas. A few days later, I was told that Tom had hurt his shoulder and that they were scrambling to cover all their jobs, and the soonest we could be scheduled was mid-January. They also said they would keep a keen eye on the schedule and try to fit us in before Christmas if at all possible, but that it might be on short notice. We accepted that, since we knew we had waited until the busiest season to contact them and what could we expect? I was very pleased when they called on Monday, December 17th and said they could fit us in on Thursday, December 20th! Tom Sr. and Tom Jr. got right to it and completed the work in less than 4 hours. I should also mention that the amount of flooring we purchased was just what was needed for the measured space...there was no extra and really no margin for error because we did not want to have to purchase another whole box. They made it all work out with just a couple small unusable pieces left. The installation is everything we had hoped for (better, since we didn't have the time to do it ourselves), and we will definitely keep Property Care in mind for any future hardwood flooring needs we might have. Despite having just a small job, we received the same courtesy and attention one would expect for a much larger project and payout. Thank you so much Barbara, Tom and Tom, for fitting us in. They were the only ones I considered after getting a quick response from them and no response from the others...from Angie's List...that I contacted. The quote was reasonable and the estimator professional. The job was quoted as three days, out of the house the last day. It only took two days and I was only out part of the day. Everything was clean and neat and there was very little dust throughout the house.

They were able to fit my job in their schedule with very short notice. We were moving into this house soon and the floors in the main portion of the house needed to be refinished before our furniture arrived. The entire experience was professional from start to finish and the floors came out fantastic. I would recommend Property Care to anyone who needs hardwood floor refinishing.

Everything went really well from the initial contact through the actual refinishing. Property care was responsive and answered all our questions and concerns. When they came out to the estimate, we had a copy of what it would cost before they left that evening. Our friends had warned that we would have dust all over the house. Property Care took all measures to isolate the area and when they were done, there was little to none dust in the area and absolutely none in the rest of the house. The floors came out wonderful, better than we expected! It looks like a new floor. I already have recommended them to my friends and family. They are a top notch company to work with.

From start to finish, Property Care was a true example of high standards and professionalism. Barbara returned my initial phone message very promptly, and also each time I called for any reason. Tom Jr. came right on time to give us our quote. He addressed every question we had, even if they seemed "dumb", and believe me, we had MANY questions and concerns. The day installation was to start, the crew was right on time. It consisted of Tom Sr., Tom Jr. and Missy. They were all extremely polite, friendly, and professional. What can I say? They worked hard ripping out all that old flooring, installed the new, and were not bothered with the fact that we were still trying to live in the home while they worked. They answered any questions we had that came up along the way with the utmost of care and concern. They put up plastic to protect the cupboards, and cleaned up very well when they left each night. The whole process took 6 days. I will say that the amount of dust created during the whole process was something more than I expected, but it could not be helped. This was due to the actual sawing of the new flooring to length, and not so much the sanding of the new flooring. I should have known, but it never crossed my mind. Each day, the crew took a scheduled lunch break. It was all very planned and efficient, like they were punching a clock. It was really neat to watch as they ate their lunch and read the paper or did crossword puzzles. Maybe that is too much info, but I thought it was cool. On the final day, Gary and his crew of finishers came to apply the Glitsa. They were equally professional in every way, answering all our questions no matter how silly they seemed. We did leave the home, as instructed, for about 2 days to allow the fumes to dissipate. We had done our research prior, so we knew what to expect. However, I will say it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. (We just purchased new living room furniture that smells far worse than the Glitsa.) Thankfully, we had GREAT weather and could open doors and windows, which really helped a lot, I'm sure. The finish is just beautiful, and we do not regret using it and would definitely do it again. One member of the finishing crew came down really sick during the day (I felt SO bad), and they still got the job finished on time with no excuses or setbacks! We had a couple tiny areas of concern in the finish after reoccupying the house, and Gary came right away and fixed it perfectly. These were concerns that most people probably would not have bothered calling back about, but I am a perfectionist and figured it might bother me forever, so I called. Neither Tom Jr. nor Gary made me feel bad about it....they just fixed it. Barbara would not even accept final payment until she knew we were 100% satisfied. Tom Jr. came back after the finish had dried and installed the shoe molding. He even cut and left extra pieces that we could use if we chose to under the kitchen sink area once we reapplied new cove base. He really went above and beyond our expectations. Please note that ALL finishes are toxic, not just Glitsa. You should not be in your home breathing the vapors regardless. Some finishes don't smell as strong. That does not mean they are not just as harmful. In a way, a strong smell is a good thing because otherwise you might be tempted to stay in the home when really you shouldn't. Just my two cents. I can honestly say we have not dealt with a company like this in a very long time. They were 100% helpful and professional in every way from start to finish, and NEVER made us feel bad for asking any question at any time. We would recommend them 100% to anybody wanting beautiful, hardwood flooring installed, or just sanding and refinishing of existing wood flooring. Our experience was near perfection. They were even compassionate regarding a family crisis we were going through at the time, and did not charge for their mental health care! :) Thank you so much, Property Care and Gary and the finishing crew. Quality of Work: We are very happy with the results. The floors in general look like new. The finish is a dull finish which we like. We had some pet and water stains that did not come out but they do look much better now. Tom did not recommend we replace these areas as the wood color would look dramatically different. The crew worked very long hours over 5 days. They had to scrape quite a few areas by hand which they did beautifully. Tom did a post visit about 1 week later where he removed all the tape and plastic as well as help us move our washer/dryer back in place. He gave us chair protectors and a cleaning kit as promised on Angie's List. Overall: We highly recommend this company!!! Do's: 1. Spend time understanding the the Glitza product; this product is highly carcinogenic- read the material safety data sheet which you can get from Property Care or just Google it on line 2. On the day AFTER the application, open up the house to the outside with your windows and doors but DO NOT stay in the house. Let the house air out 1-2 days after you open it up. The smell is VERY strong. It takes about 3 days to completely clear out the smell. 3. You can stay in the house while the crew is sanding but remove all pets during the complete time of the project. We had two birds and 3 cats that we boarded. 4. Ask the crew to cover any paintings or art work that is left on your walls and also put up a plastic barrier from the rest of the house. It still gets dusty even though they use a machine to collect the sanded wood. 5. Thoroughly discuss any difficult stains so that you have realistic expectations for the outcome 6. Inspect the crew's application of the wood filler. This application is critical to a achieving smooth finish and connecting the boards together. 7. Schedule your refinishing in the spring, summer and fall when you can open the windows. Just using your heating/air conditioning to air the house out is not safe enough. Don't's 1. DO NOT under any circumstances stay in the house when the crew is applying the Glitza finish. Take this seriously. The crew wears respirators in order to apply the finish. You do not want any exposure to this product. 2. Don't expect the crew to move your furniture; hire a moving company.

I wanted to install hardwood floor in my living room, dinning room and hallway. Original contractor who started the floor didn't have any experience in installing solid wood floors. He messed up the entire installation process. The other two contractors who started later couldn't finish it because of the mess the original guy created. That's when we came to Angie's List and found Property Care. Barb answered the phone and was very sympathetic to our situation and promised the they would help. They sent Tom to give us an estimate and set a date 2 weeks from estimate date. We didn't like the 2 weeks delay. But we didn't want to take another chance with another contractor who didn't know what he was doing. Right from the start, Tom from Property care was confident and gave a very reasonable quote even thou it is a small job. Barb promptly called the day before reminding the appt. Tom showed up exactly on time and finished the job as he promised. His son came and finished all detail work with perfection. I am glad I waited 2 weeks to get Tom to finish the job. I wanted to install base molding and shoe molding on the same day. But they didn't have time on the same day and told me that they would schedule me another day when time permits. Tom promptly called 4 days later and came in and finished moldings as promised. I highly recommend Property care to do a big or small job. You can trust them doing a good job. They show a professionalism and care in what they do no matter what the job size is. Tom is very busy. Don't hurry up. It is worth waiting for him and his crew to finish the job. I would definitely use property care on my future hardwood flooring installation.

Property Care Inc. was always quick to respond to phone calls, arrived on time, every time, and showed great skill and quality in their work. And they always leave my home as clean as it was when they arrived. We are going to hire them for future projects.

Property Care Hardwood did a great job from start to finish. In the bidding process, all the companies who bid were all highly regarded and submitted bids very close to one another. I chose PCH because of their past reviews, and the fact they could get the job done at an earlier date due to a cancellation. I had no idea of the amount of work that would go into this project. Week #1 M-Thursday was about removing old carpeting and installing the new hardwood. Week #2 M-Thur was primarily sanding and buffing. On Friday of Week #2 they put the stain on, and then applied the coating on Sat and Sunday. The finishing touches were on Week #3 Monday and Wednesday. The floors look amazing. The did a great job syncing up the old flooring with the new. The new was more of a 4 inch plank which contrasts a bit with the 2.75 inch of the original flooring. After the staining, it all looked brand new !!

This is the first time we have ever lived in a house with hardwoods, and we LOVE how they look and how clean we can keep the floors---carpeting holds so much dust, dander, mites, etc. Thank you Property Care Hardwood Floors for making our hardwoods purchase such a fun experience!

We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company to anyone that needed a floor put in, a floor refinished, or whatever your hardwood flooring needs would be. We went to Angie's List specifically to find someone to do our floors and we are not the least bit disappointed. Don't hesitate to do the same. We've had bad experiences with contractors in the past and this is definitely one way to avoid that inconvenience. Thanks Angie :)

We had a great experience with Tom and his team. He came out to perform an estimate months before we actually decided to do the work, but he stuck with the original price when we finally told him we were ready to schedule the work. The team of 3 removed our old flooring (a mixture of vinyl and carpet) and installed our beautiful new Lauzon hardwood floors. The entire process from start to finish took about 3.5 days. We were thrilled with everything, from their customer service to the care they took in shifting the larger pieces of furniture we could not remove from the rooms. The only thing we were not prepared for was the time they showed up on the first day. We expected them around 8 a.m., but they did not tell us that they would be picking up the wood from the warehouse that same morning. When I called Barb at the office to find out their ETA, she gave me Tom's cell number and explained that they had to pick up the flooring that day. They did not arrive until a little before 10 a.m., but that was the only hiccup in the process. We are very, very picky and detail-oriented, but so was the work they did. Our floors are beautiful, their price was great, and we would definitely use them again. In fact, we hope to have them come back and install hardwoods throughout the rest of our house when we have some extra cash.

Tom and his family met us at the house upon possession. They went right to work, tearing up carpets. They laid new floors in our hallway, living room and dining area. They were prompt, friendly and careful. Next the refinishing crew came in to sand the old and new floors. We had problems with the parquet floor, which was black walnut when the finish bubbled up. The rest of the floors were done beautifully. We were frustrated with the amount of time it took to complete the family room, but I am not sure it could have been prevented. We appreciated that Gary was persistent and now the floor is beautiful.
