Classic Tree Service

Please note. Classic Tree Service, which shows up in the Olathe Kansas market does not service this area and not to be confused with Classic Tree Care which does service the Olathe Kansas area as well as surrounding areas. I am sure Classic Tree Service is a fine company, however, not in the league of Classic Tree Care. We have been asking Angie's List to rectify this issue for several weeks to no avail.

I had Mike come on 2/26 for estimate. Was also planning to have another tree company come in afternoon for estimate. Mike was in morning and gave me estimate at time since I was home. Told him I wanted another estimate from Hendrickson before deciding. He kept pushing and pushing for me to use them and they could come on Fri. Gave in at the time and hired and regretted it. Hendrickson came in afternoon to estimate while I was not home and didn't email their estimate until Classic came and did the work. Their estimate was $950 cheaper than Classic Tree and included grinding AND removal of stump debris. I had to pay another service $300 to fill in all the holes left from stump grinding and haul away remaining debris. Obviously Classic Tree is way too expensive and they got several other jobs on my street same day going around knocking on doors.. Emailed Mike at Classic after I got other estimate and told him I was very unhappy I didn't wait for Hendrickson estimate and use them instead. He said Hendrickson is their competition. I hate pressure sales asking you to make immediate decision to hire and will get more than one estimate from now on. Used them because they were in Angie's List book, but Hendrickson had been recommended to me by another Lawn Service and that is why I wanted their estimate also before deciding.

This is a review from my brother-in-law: He called Classic Tree Service 3 times in the past 2 months for services that included tree stump removal and 4 to 5 brush piles removed. A somewhat profitable job for maybe an hours worth of work. The owner each time said he would be out in a day or two to put together a quote. Each time no response. Seemed like a nice guy on the phone so my brother-in-law gave him a few chances. Unfortunately, this was a job that could have lead to 5 to 10 trees being removed over the next 1 to 3 years.

I already left a good review last year (11/18/12) but I want to leave another one: We had these guys remove another big pile of brush from my yard (it's woodsy and the previous owners didn't do squat to maintain it), and they did another great job. Great price, did it all while my wife and I were at work, and left no mess. Brush was there when we left in the morning and gone when we got home, simple as that. If you're looking for a good tree service, give these guys a call and be done with it.

In a nutshell: They did a GREAT job for me, and I highly recommend them. They were very responsive, their price was very competitive (beating out several other tree service companies), and they did the entire job during the day while I was at work (I didn't even need to be there). They were also very careful to leave the yard in good condition -- they hauled everything out by hand, and never took any heavy machinery onto the lawn. They do great work for a great price, and I'll be using them again!

Classic Tree Service arrived on Saturday afternoon, as agreed, and started to remove a large, 35 or 40 foot Locust tree from my front yard. The tree was about 15 feet from the front of my house, and a few branches overhung the house. The crew removed all the smaller branches from the tree, resulting in a huge pile of brush in the yard, and then started on the larger parts of the tree. As each very large chunk of tree was removed, it was carefully lowered to the ground with a block and tackle, and stacked by the curb. Then they removed the stump and all of the large roots, and filled the resulting hole with wood chips. Finally they chipped and disposed of the smaller branches, loaded the large logs on a truck, and carefully raked the yard, leaving a neat worksite. The job was interrupted several times by rain, but the crew always came back as soon as possible, and stayed on the job until it was done. The whole process was done in a very professional manner, and nothing was damaged by the potentially dangerous release of large and heavy sections of the tree. I would not hesitate to use Classic Tree Service again, or to recommend them to a friend.
