Dorian and his subcontractors (excellent crew-very professional) did an excellent job in our home 1) Designed, gutted, structural repair, and installed our new kitchen. 2) Designed and built floor-to-ceiling bookcases for our study. 3) Designed and built floor-to-ceiling entertainment center and bookcases for our living room. 4) Replaced all countertops and fixtures for 3 bathrooms 5) Replaced all lighting fixtures 6) Resolved all issues during remodel 7) Rewired a portion of the home Dorian also doesn't waste money. Example: he took the old garbage disposal and stored it for the remodel. He said there was nothing wrong with it and it didn't need to be replaced. Dorian's work is excellent. We feel very comfortable in our home, knowing he took the time to make sure everything was done correctly.

Dorian does the unusual and awkward work himself. He only uses top quality subcontractors, and he organizes, plans and specs all the work himself. Any rework, which is very rare, is accomplished in a timely fashion. It was our pleasure to work with Dorian Gluckman! We would recommend him only if want the best. Our bathrooms look amazing! In the end we did not use Mr. Gluckman. The cost was over our budget and we are putting the project on hold until we reach the budget necessary to move foward. I will have to say Mr. Gluckman worked very hard to reduce the costs and spent some time with us in trying to do so at no cost. I will use Mr. Gluckman moving foward.

All the repairs were professionally done and in timely matter. Quality of materials and workmanship were excellent. One year latter the repairs are holding up very well.

What I learned is to never purchase any specials from Angie's List. It was a waste of my time and money. I could have just as easily thrown the $50 down the drain for all the information I got.

Mr. Gluckman was punctual and knowledgable. He suggested we do more ground work before he started the job. He spent half a day trying to solve an issue and didn't charge for his time. We were very positivly impressed

Dorian and his crew were punctual and did an amazing job. The attention to detail made us feel like we were his most important customer. He was in constant communication with us about schedules, weather, and such. We LOVE it when our neighbors walk by the house and compliment how nice it looks.

My wife and I have been talking about remodeling our kitchen for years. Our house is a 50 plus year old brick bungalow with a 25 year old addition which creates the large kitchen and upstairs master bedroom and bath. Our concern was getting any contractor to do the job right and account for walls and floor of an old addition and older house that were not close to being square or plumb. We needed to use this kitchen during the remodel as much as possible and were afraid of what the contractor would find as they de-constructed the existing kitchen. We knew our electrical was a mess and the panel was almost full. In short, we were afraid of running into a money pit and even worse, have a contractor do a poor job and leave us hanging. This was a once in a lift time project for us with only one shot at getting it right. Dorien Gluckman came over on a Saturday to give us an estimate. He spent almost 3 hours going over all the details and walking thru the project explaining every step and all our choices. His explanations were easy to understand and he told us the and quot;whyand quot; behind everything. What sets Gluckman and Co apart from other companies is their communication and attention to detail. We always knew what was going on via email and phone calls. Dorien proactively called us constantly and we could always reach him on his cell. His engineering background was evident; not just on major structural issues but also on a number of minor issues we would have never caught. His attention to detail was outstanding. We recommend Gluckman and Company without reservation. Gluckman and Co did such a great job and were such a pleasure to work with we can say without reservation that this was the best contractor we've ever hired.

Their prices are very good. They get all A's.

I was not very impressed by this guy at all. He said he HAD to provide the materials for the job, or he wouldn't guaranty the work. So I asked him why he wouldn't guaranty the quality of his labor if the materials I buy are the same ones that he would buy- it doesn't make sense. He didn't have a legitimate answer, just that he wouldn't do it. Makes me think that he's adding to the price of the tile by quite a bit. I don't trust him and wouldn't use him.

I had a great experience with Gluckman and Co. overall. Dorian was very friendly and helpful, completed the job quickly and without any problems, and he worked with my schedule to make it convenient for me. His work looks great, and we are very happy with it!

The damage to our basement occurred in mid-January 2012. I joined Angie=s List for the expressed purpose of finding a reputable company to perform the necessary repairs. I called one or two other of the contractors that appeared on Angie=s List. Dorian Gluckman was the only contractor who appeared as promised at the time and date that we had agreed. Mr. Gluckman inspected the home and provided an estimate the very next day. Unlike other companies I had previously hired for work, Mr. Gluckman=s initial estimate did not change, and there were no additional Aadd ons@ or any surprises. The estimate that I received the day after his inspection was exactly the same as I ended up paying at the completion of the project. Of course, there were other minor issues that arose as the project was nearing completion, but in each and every instance, Mr. Gluckman did not charge any additional sums and agreed to complete the project for exactly the price agreed upon. Mr. Gluckman and his crew were prompt, coming each day at 9:00 a.m. as promised, and concluding their day at 5:00 p.m. Each day, they would clean up the site, hauling debris from the basement. We felt so comfortable with Mr. Gluckman and his crew that we gave them access to the home, even when my wife and I were not at home. We allowed Mr. Gluckman to make choices as to the tile and the paneling, and we were quite pleased with the number of options that he offered us previous to construction. The majority of the work was performed by Mr. Gluckman personally and he went over and above the contract requirements to make certain that both my wife and I were pleased with the job. Mr. Gluckman was hands-on with the project and he appeared every single day. At times, when other subcontractors were used for portions of the project, Mr. Gluckman made certain that he was there before the subcontractors arrived and stayed until the subcontractors left. He is, by far, the best contractor we have ever hired. He was professional. He was communicative. He answered all our questions. He returned all our phone calls and I would highly recommend him to anyone for any contracting work. The price he promised was the price that he ended up charging for the work. In addition, he worked with my insurance agent to negotiate the maximum amount that I was entitled to under the terms of my policy. Lastly, he was willing to wait until I received settlement from the insurance company before he received his final payment for work performed. He is professional, honest and hard working and a pleasure to deal with.

He was very knowledgeable and had helpful points and opinions. We just elected not to finish the basement at that time. If and when we do any building, we do plan on using him. He was personable and a really nice guy.

We are at the last stages of this project and have asked him to give us a bid on refinishing our floors. Highly recommended.

From the moment we contacted the company, the owner was very responsive and prompt in providing us with a detailed estimate. He also took the time we needed to explain to us our options (construction materials choices, pros and cons for each, etc). We received a large number of samples to make our color / texture decision easier. Once we agreed on the scope of work and materials and signed the contract, the work began on the agreed upon date and was finished according to the schedule. There were no surprises when the final bill arrived. Everything took place exactly as expected, with no further involvement from our side. The workers were careful not to damage the flower beds and pots, and left the yard very clean; throughout the project they behaved very professionally. Overall, it was money well spent, and the repainted house and new roof look very appealing.

Duckman and Co. was everything you could ask for in a contractor. They were very responsive and timely throughout the quoting period. Once the work commenced the entire crew was prompt, clean and professional. They would listen to any and all questions and answer courteously. We are now in the process of using them again for block window replacement and additional repairs in our house.

We started the work in August and it is paused for the moment because of some issues with the basement that's got nothing to do with Gluckman that we have to get done before he can start again. We will be using him again in the next couple of months. We are pausing the project but he has started the work and he will finish the work. We removed the carpet and we were redoing the basement. He had the asbestos guys come and check for asbestos tile and they came and tested it. It turned out positive and they came and removed it and that was sub contracted. He replaced out ceiling tiles as well and added another fixture like recess lighting. He tested for mold behind the drywall in the basement. The previous owners had put the drywall in and discovered that there was plastic in between the drywall and cinder block and it was soaking wet. He was able to find the source of the dampness problem in our basement and he made a really good suggestion. He suggested we get rid of the plastic and drywall and use a de-humidifier to dry out the basement. We have to strip the paint off the cinder blocks and we are going to put a permeable paint on the cinder blocks so that the blocks can breathe and the room can dry out and air out naturally. We also had some glass blocks put in where our windows were and he also put a vent in as well to increase air circulation in the basement. He is very honest and he is just above board on the prices of things and about the pros and cons of every situation and we really just trust him. He does a lot of the work himself and he really works hard. He is really professional about cleaning up and he is just one of the best contractors we have worked with in our experience of being home owners.

Everything went well. They were on time and very professional throughout the project. Additionally, they were very neat and clean. I would use them on my next job and would highly recommend Gluckman and Co.

Gluckman and Company were a pleasure to work with from the initial quote through completion. Starting with the quote, Dorian performed a thorough analysis of the work required, explained the work he would perform and offered several options to further reduce the project cost. As an engineer he is very meticulous and if asked can explain any element of the project in considerable detail). Once he was selected for the project, he started on schedule. Although considerable work was accomplished daily, the job site was always thoroughly swept at the end of the day! The project was completed on time and at the quoted price. The overall workmanship was excellent and Dorian's attention to details was readily apparent. We would readily recommend Gluckman and Company to work on any home renovation project, particularly the more complicated types of projects inherent in older homes. Gluckman and Company will not be your lowest bid, but the dependability, technical capabilities and quality of the work make this contractor a very good value. Finally, Dorian himself is a thorough, honest and reliable individual who works very hard to earn your future work.

They finished the work in a shorter amount of time than I expected. It was done right the first time.

Dorian is extremely trustworthy, reliable, and professional. No problem leaving him a key to the house. He's an excellent problem solver(degreed engineer), does meticulous work. Both projects I've had him do had tricky problems related to original construction that needed to be resolved-was glad to have someone like him who could work them out. He does a lot of the work himself although oversees work of subcontractors when required. He is organized, keeps work-site very clean. Very knowledgeable about construction products and all aspects of construction. Also very good about recycling/reuse--sensitive to and knowledgeable about environmental issues. I've found his prices to be very fair. He doesn't necessarily come in the lowest bid but his estimates are comprehensive and by the end of the project, the total price is very competitive.
