Domenico Brick Paving & Landscaping

The workers were prompt, professional and fast. . What I estimated would take two or three weeks only took two days. This was a transition much like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly!

From our first contact, everyone at Domenico's was friendly and knowledgeable about their services. Domenic himself came to the house to plan the job, and gave us a reasonable estimate (not cheap and worth every penny) and an approximate date for the work. We went on vacation and when we got back, they were ready to do the job as promised. The work crew was extremely professional, careful in their work, thorough, and willing to listen to any questions I had and respond to small design changes. The foreman Karl was very organized, finding the right materials for the permeable Unilock pavers (a new product, which I also recommend if you have a drainage issue) and getting both jobs done in a day and a half. We are completely satisfied and would highly recommend Domenico's if you are thinking about a driveway or patio project.

This is the second time I have used Domenicos, and they do a wonderful job. They removed and replaced the pavers in my courtyard in one day. They worked with me to get the job done before my move-in date, because my front steps were dangerous. They send a big crew so the work gets done quickly. I would highly recommend them.

I was in the hospital during the job. I was not available to answer questions. They did a great job. Everything looks even, flat, fresh and new. Virtually no damage to adjacent shrubs, flowers and ground covers.

Unfortunately, I am not happy with this provider. I dealt with Diane and it started off pretty good from her response time to my request thru Angie's list and getting a time to come out and see the property to complete the estimate. I was looking for an estimate to put down river rock and possibly pavers around my deck in the backyard. The estimate came back promptly in the end of April after her visit. It started to all go down hill from there in regards to repsonse time, follow up and the actual want for the business which is extremely unprofessional and just a lack of respect for possible customers. I had let her know that I was going to hold off on the pavers until next year but would like the river rock and some low growing ground cover to break up the appearance of the river rock. It took two weeks to get a response from this revision in total and an email follow up from myself after a week of waiting to ask if I needed to contact another landscaping company to get this completed. I received a voicemail message stating that they were not interested in providing service to me becuase I'm not spending enough money. There were no MINIMUMS listed nor communicated to provide a service and jsut came off plain out tacky. Would not reccomment using this company to anyone unless you were planning on spending an amount that was suffiient to them.

Put simply, they did a fantastic job. Met with Dominic to go over what I wanted done and received an estimated within a day or two. A few days prior to the start of the job, I met with the project manager to go over again what I wanted and to pick out the color brings from the catelog they provided. We went over everything in detail so I knew exactly what is being done and how they were going to do the work. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and offered some suggestions that I didn't even think of which ultimately made a huge difference on how the project turned out in the end. But most of all, they take pride in their work and care just as much as I do on how the job will turn out. The project took approximately a day and a half to two days. I didn't needed to be present for the work to start (saved me from taking a vacation day). In between the two work days, the workers (without being told) stored their equipment neatly in the back yard hidden away from view. That helped keep the neighbors from complaining for being an eye sore. That was much appreciated. Upon completion, everything was cleaned up and washed down. Great job. They guys doing the work were friendly and very professional. I chose this company based on their "A" rating and they did not disappoint. I am already in contact with them for my next project.

I had a great experience with Domenico - from the estimate through to completion of the work. I had received three quotes for the patio. Karl was the only one who submitted a drawing of the patio along with a well detailed estimate, thereby lowering the possibiity of future misunderstanding. He worked with me on cost. Then, prior to the start date, he came out and painted the outline of the new patio for my approval, again avoiding any misunderstanding later. Jose and his crew arrived early both days . They were professional, meticulous, courteous and respectful. The work was done quickly and very well. They had to come back a third day to apply more polymeric sand, so I had to leave everything off the patio. When I got home, I was surprised and delighted to see they had put my furniture back on the patio (so I didn't have to do it). The patio is beautiful; I am very happy with it and with their service. I'm telling all my friends and neighbors about my experience.

Carl was very nice to work with and was very prompt and attentive when installing the brick paver patio and lawn. We would gladly work with him and Domenico in the future for items that were under Carl's control However, when the flower beds were installed they were slow to complete the project. After completion we had a serious weed problem in the flower beds. Diane (who was in charge of the installation of the flower beds) promised a number of times to take care of the problem, but she never showed up. She even gave us specific dates that she was coming out and then didn't show up. We finally pulled the weeds ourselves and are having the flower beds redone this year by a different company.

They were professional in their heart.

Boy, do these guy work! A team of about 6 men arrived, stripped out the pavers, and a portion of the patio. They reused our pavers, added others in buliding a fine looking, sweeping set of steps and a small deck. At the same time, they removed two concrete steps and replaced them with a European-style step-set and small landing. Exiting either door is not comfortable and very safe. Great job, quickly and professionally done. It looks terrric!

My husband and I had an appointment scheduled with this company. The day before the scheduled appointment we got a call from Michael asking about the scope of the job. My husband explained we needed a 500 square foot deck removed and replaced with a brick patio. Michael said OVER THE PHONE that we were talking about a $10,000 job. My husband suggested that he should come out to answer some of our questions and see the actual work site. Michael replied that he "just" wanted to make sure we could "afford" the cost before he came out. Now I grant you that living in Trenton may not be as affluent an area as Birmingham. However we can afford the $10,000 dollar price tag. This condescending attitude was not appreciated. In this economy I am quite surprised that companies would look down their nose at any job. We cancelled the appointment and will find a contractor that is happy to have the work.

Everything went well. Work was well done, workers were good. Job was done in a timely manner. No problems until job was done and the following became apparent: Now we are having difficulty getting the company to resolve one remaining issue, areas of polymeric sand stuck to the surface of paving bricks. This is unsightly. They have stated they will come out to power wash the area sometime before the end of the season. We are waiting for this to occur. Our last contact was 26 days ago.

I was contacted by Karl the project leader to go over sample brick. He was punctual and professional. Work began that day with the work crew prepping the area. They finished installing pavers the next day. They were quck and courteous. I communicated with the lead bick layer about wanted to expand my flower bed area the was receptive and courteous. I had a very positive experience with Domenico and would highly recommend. Only two issues occured: one is that the estimated time for the work to begin was less than actual time. Second, the estimate was off by $300.00 due to two down spouts needing to be burried. These were small issues and did not impact my overall satisfaction of the service and job done.

Overall the experience was outstanding and we recommend them highly. The only difficulty we experienced had to do with buried cables (power, TV/data, phone) but Karl, the project manager, helped solve these problems by running the cables through conduit and reburying them prior to digging. Domenico provided artistic design consultation and made several recommendations in regards to landscaping and cosmetic choices (as did Karl). Pricewise, we had several estimates offered, and Domenico was the most expensive but by the end of the project we felt we received the greatest value from Domenico and his team. They arrived on time, worked hard in blistering heat, and installed and attractive patio in a short period of time (2 1/2 days) that we expect to last for many years. The crew was very experienced, polite, and responsive to our questions and concerns. We recommend Domenico Brick Paving and would consider using them again when the need arises.

Everything looks really good. They were very efficient. They only took three days. They were always on time and easy to schedule with. I had a list of things I wanted done, and they did everything I wanted. He is recognized in the area for the quality of his work.

Overall I give this company an A++. It has been a very long time, and I cannot remember the last time, that I have dealt with a company with such professionalism, had prompt responses and got the job done right, the first time. Everyone involved with my patio extension and fire pit install knew what they were doing, backed by many years of experience. As is with most building projects, last minute changes were made and they were accommodating and took care of them without issue, still completing the job in a very timely manner and on schedule. I look forward to working with this company again in the future should I need any other work done and I highly recommend them.

They did a really good job. I had to have them come back and adjust part of it. We also had to change the plan after they got here. A few things needed to be added. They did what they had to do and the price was reasonable. I appreciate they were willing to come back and make the changes I wanted.

They didn’t charge us for the quote but we have not used them yet. They were very professional and we couldn’t have asked for more information.

Domenic was great to work with throughout the entire process. He was very responsive, fair, and highly concerned about making sure we got what we wanted. The craftmanship was excellent and they even improved the drainage from what had been installed by the custom builder. We are very pleased and would highly recommend Domenico to anyone considering a large or small brick paver project.

Domenico came to our house and gave a thorough presentation of his approach to our job. He and his crew were very professional and prompt and responsive to our requests. He had some good ideas for design, some of which we used. The job itself went quite smoothly, despite some challenges they encountered with removal of the old pavers. They completed the project in 4 days, which was faster than any other estimate we had. We were very pleased with the end result. The price was higher than some other quotes (not the highest), but worth it because of the beautiful job they did in such a timely manner. Would recommend them for any paving job. They are very experienced, even using uncommon pavers, like for our job.

Intentions were just to raise the walkway from the driveway leading to a circular entrance patio. The patio had a step up that always had given us problems. The entire circular patio pitched towards the house and caused issues in the winter as the bricks rose due to frost. Karl came out and gave us an estimate for the work and in conversation, he demonstrated that I could eliminate the step and pitch the entire patio and walkway in the correct direction. While the job was more expensive than I originally intended, the outcome was excellent. The entire design exceeded my expectations. The crew was hard working, cleaned up well and finished the job in good time. Karl assured me they could match the old pavers with new ones and he was correct. The finished job looks fantastic. I found Domenico on Angie's LIst and very glad I did.

They started the work on a Thursday and before they got a good start, it started to rain and continued to rain on Friday. They returned on Saturday and worked again Sunday to complete the job by the date agreed upon.

I could not be happier with their work. The crew was friendly and responsive to my questions and ideas. They worked hard incorporating an old stone architectural piece I owned into the retaining wall and making it look as if it belonged there. The entire job looks terrific. I got bids from 4 or 5 companies prior to making a decision; Domenicos price was about midrange, and they offered the best guarantee. I would recommend this company to anyone.

They did a superior job on the pavers and I am super pleased! I have hired many contractors in the past to work on my house including 2 to do brick pavers and have been told that my expectations are too high. This crew is the best I have ever seen! These guys are very meticulous in every detail and cleaned up the site in excellent fashion. The job exceeded my expectations! I have already hired them again to do my front porch and walkway.

Very good experience overall. Got a call within 3-4 hours of my original inquiry and the owner was at my home later that day to provide an estimate. Work was done on time, with very little damage to the significant landscape and plants surrounding the patio. Cleaned up very nicely. Called me back daily to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. When a concrete step needed replacement, got a call immediately and given a price for replacement, which was installed at that price. No surprises. Would recommend them highly.
