Rainmaster Irrigation

We have always felt that any work recommended has been legitimate and was completed within the expected timeframe. Paul Hollow, the owner of the company has always taken the time to explain the repairs to the system and has instructed us in how it should be maintained. We are very pleased with the work and are we have a lot of trust in this company.

This year I turned back on the sprinkler system after a couple of years off. Rainmaster did a great job. Upgraded my system to match my landscape additions and fixed all the broken parts and offered great suggestions. Really happy with his work and the price.

Sadly,this is my first bad review that I am posting. Thank you to Angie's List for helping me navigate the vendor landscape. I did not come to Rainmaster by Angie's List...it was by neighbor referral. I have been a customer of Rainmaster for several years...and our relationship started off very promising. Problems with my system were resolved fairly promptly and for the most part they showed when promised the first year. Last year was far from the original year's experience. They never came when they promised, leaks were fixed eventually, but getting changes made took weeks of nagging calls, emails and texts. A leak in my main line had me calling/emailing/texting with no responses for about a week. I ended up fixing it myself so my lawn, landscaping and gardens wouldn't die as it was the middle of the summer. They did finally come out to replace the main line...and installed it exactly where I told them not to (across a planned landscaping bed), and not where the flags were located indicating where the current line was located. They promised to move it in the Spring of this year. When they came to blow out my system in the fall, the compressor trailer leaked oil all over my driveway and they did not clean it up. I texted pictures to the owner of my driveway and said what the... Paul responded and said the would be back to clean it up. They came a day or two later (can't remember which...but it wasn't the same day) spread cat litter and left the litter for me to clean up. This year I had planned to go down to the Gold plan from prior years being "Platinum" as I just didn't see the value. Rainmaster was scheduled to come out and do the startup but then did not show - then rescheduled to a different date without telling me and amazingly wondered why I wasn't home. I ended up turning on my system as I needed to water my garden, lawn and landscaping. Later, Paul and his team were fixing my next door neighbor's system and I inquired when they were planning to move my main line. He indicated they would return when it wasn't raining and move the line and also discuss a new landscape bed being added that I requested. They did show up, but did more of a check of the current system (I told Paul it wasn't needed..and only one nozzle needed to be replaced as I had already turned it on and checked it). Paul said they would come back and move the main line to the correct location and install the new zone the following Saturday. Never showed...and I didn't call. Lots of empty promised from Paul (owner) and Brian (office manager). Staff that do the work are great - when they show up...which is more of a Brian/Paul issue I think. Be prepared for a lot of frustration in dealing with Rainmaster. If you value your time and expect vendors to be prompt or at the very least communicate with you...look somewhere else.

They were very thorough, friendly, and knowledgable. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely have them back in the spring to complete maintenance on our sprinkler system.

Everything went great! I had some bad luck with the previous irrigation company I called. However, I called Rainmaster Irrigation and spoke with Brian. He was very courteous and professional. In trying to work out a time for them to come out, I told Brian my location and he said he could swing over since he was in the area. Work preformed was great! Brian even gave me some pointers about the system and sprinkler components. I am very appreciative of Brian and the Rainmaster Irrigation team and will be calling them in the future!!

This company installed my irrigation 10 years ago and I have been continuously impressed with their professionalism, friendliness, responsiveness, flexibility and quality throughout the years of maintaining my system. They are easy to contact by phone or email and are willing to work around my schedule. I emailed them on Sunday when I noticed my exposed section of hose, they returned my email on Monday and were at my home on Tuesday morning. The job required a trench being dug in my lawn to install a new line away from the tree roots and they replaced the sod so that the trench is now undetectable. In addition, they have a great service plan that covers the start up and shut down of their system and a discount on repairs. Great quality, great service.

I have used this company before, with good service. But starting last year, the company has missed scheduled appointments without even calling to cancel! The professionalism has gone out the window. Tried last year and the exact same thing happened! NO SHOW. Tired again yesterday...NO SHOW!! Not very happy with the lack of service..

They were really great. We have used them multiple times. We chose them because they had good reviews on Angie's List. They would fix one issue, and then realize that there was another issue, and you couldn't know that there was another issue until things were fixed. The owner also came out to evaluate what was going on and so that when they came out the next time, they would be able to resolve all issues.

They came out to perform the job, could not complete it as they said they didn't have the right equipment to finish the job. I had two sprinkler valves that were not working due to an electrical issue (the line had been accidently cut by landscaper) and they said they were not able to blow out those lines and would have to return. They returned and charged me for another $72 to winterize the remaining two valves. I keep getting invoices and have refused to pay as I agreed to pay $72 for my system to be winterized. No additional work was completed, yet I continue to get invoiced for double the amount. This is disappointing as I used them the prior fall and everything went well.

I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews - especially about the pricing. The first visit cost me ~ $100, in which a person came out, inspected and gave an estimate of $400. My understanding was that he would start the work in the first visit, but he did not. I called the office, and they said $100 was a fair price for coming out for a start up, and that the repair/replacement/move would cost me $400 or less, certainly not more. For the second visit, they charged me ~ $500, saying the lawn required much more work than they had anticipated. They said they gave me this price after a discount. Cost of labor ~ $100/hour.

Owner came out on first call. Sold me a service contract and I was happy to have someone handle my system and get it off my plate. They left saying there was more work to do and would be back. They came back a week later to do more stuff and left again saying their work wasn't done. In the meantime I received a $400 invoice. I assumed that covered everything. Wrong. I never saw them return and was going to call them complaining they hadn't finished their work. I received yet another invoice for $ 200. At this point I'm wondering when the end of this will come and when will I have a working system. The office manager is a sweetheart who swears they take customer service very seriously. The co-owner is a sworn professional who absolutely "will get to the bottom of this." He never called me again. I paid the last invoice and while the check was in transit the only other contact I got from these thieves is a collection call from the nice lady office manager. Lesson learned. Never trust again.

Done on time and replaced only parts that were required, did not pressure me into replacing parts that were not the brands they sell and service.

They did a very good job on adding additional sprinkler heads.. Did a very good job.

Called Rainmaster on 5/20 at 2:49. Gave a thumbnail sketch of what I needed done. Start up and at least 5 new sprinkler heads. The gentleman said he would call me back in 10 minutes. Didn't receive another phone call until 5/22 at 1:24 from Trish. I again explained what I needed done and she said she would schedule someone to come out on 5/31. She said someone would call me well in advance for the exact time. 5/24 at 2:20 spoke to the same man I spoke to originally. He called to find out what exactly I needed to have done. I told him I had a conversation with Trish and she said someone would be coming out on 5/31. Today is 6/5 and I have not heard from anyone. I am no longer interested in their services and will look elsewhere.

Well, business must be good. My initial call to Rain Master was made mid-April, which was for a quote on a new sprinkler system. My call was returned... almost a month later around 5/15. Since I had yet to get any work done I decided to have them come out for a quote. I set the appointment up for Friday, 5/17. On the morning of 5/17 I was called to see if I could reschedule for the following Monday (5/20), which was not a problem. Monday came and went, and nobody ever showed up for the quote. I haven't heard a peep since. The only reason I'm not giving them a complete F is because the women I spoke with to set up the appointments was very courteous. Like I said, business must be good if they feel they can blow off appointments like that.

I attempted to schedule service in May but the technician did not show. The operator called me the next day and let me know they had car trouble. They did a good job following up with me and confirming the schedule. The technicians did a excellent professional job. I would not hesitate to recommend them based on their work but I was overcharged on the controller/timer. They installed a Rainbird ESP-ME controller and charged me $279.00 - After a quick look at store.rainbird.com they charged me over $100 more than the list price!

It went very well. They were very professional and knowledgable. They were on time and left no mess behind.

Exceptionally well, efficient and expedient. Owner and service reps were more than satisfactory in response and completing the work.

Although Angie's List warned me that there was a big demand for this Big Deal and that it may take some time to schedule, I had no problem getting scheduled quickly and conveniently. They were very polite, efficient, and professional. Very satisfied.

My sprinkler system had not been used in several years, due to receiving a huge water bill the last summer I used it. So RAINMASTER came out and turned on the system, and tested each zone, and helped me re-program the controller. They found a couple broken heads, and replaced them for a reasonable additional charge. They were very courteous and professional, and did not make me feal pressured to buy anything extra. I hope they offer another "$69 for Spring Sprinkler System Tune-Up/Opening!" deal next spring, as I would definately use them again to open my system, and repair the items that broke over the summer!

New sprinkler heads and sprinkler relocation were not a problem. Problem is that during their visit they also had to replace a leaking valve. They said they would come back the next day and reconnect, and since I was traveling that day I could not look at weather they did that or not. After 1 week of vacation I came back home to find that the newly planted grass in the backyard was no longer green. They never came in to reconnect the faulty valves, I made the mistake of paying the full ammount because I was traveling the next day and I expected they would be responsible based on previous Angie's list reviewes. It was a total dissapointment. I would certainly not recommend this if you cannot do some work by yourself, but if you are willing to do some of the work, and have the time, you might get a good deal.

I had them come out to repair a few heads that weren't working, and talked about the problems getting the entire back lawn covered. We discussed how to move some heads around and add a new zone with additional heads to get proper coverage. They came back later and performed all that work. Back yard is fully covered now, and they tweaked other areas so the heads were spraying better. I appreciated their input and their extra efforts.
