They were fine. I called them for a second job the following summer and they never showed up. They said something about being really busy and they would follow up with me, but they never did. I would have rated their responsiveness better if they had called me back.

Arrived on time and quickly resolved a problem I have been attempting to fix for many months. The worker was fast and efficient with his repairs. While not a massive job by any stretch, it was clear the worker knew his trade and was the consummate professional. This is a wonderful family-owned local business. I would recommend them highly.

When I called Mr. Collins about repairing my roof, I had had several other roofers who had made appointments to come and give me an estimate and who never showed up or called, even after I called them again to find out why they didn't show up. When I talked to Mr. Collins, I mentioned that and he said "well, sometimes a job goes longer than expected and you can't make it". I said, "the least they could do is to call and tell me that, that is just rude and discourteous". We made an appt. for him to come and give me an estimate a week later. He lives in Berkley and I live in Royal Oak, so not a long distance. I asked him to promise me that if he couldn't make it that he would call and let me know. He promised. I had to wait a week for his visit, which was to be at 11 AM. I waited all day and he never appeared or called! This is rude in any event, but more so since he promised to call me if he couldn't make it. I wasted a whole seek waiting, to no avail. I took a chance on him since he had 2 other F reviews due to not showing up. I guess it was my fault for not realizing he was a jerk right away. I wish I could give him something more than an F. Maybe a G or an H. I wasted a whole week that I could have been trying to get someone else. Hope someone else gets the warning and doesn't even call him.

I was dressed and ready by 8:00 A.M. on my day off and ready for him to come and he never showed up for his 11:00 appointment. I called around 11:30 and left a voice mail, but he never called back. I called once more in the evening and left another voice mail and my husband called and left a voice mail as well when he got home from work. We still have not heard a thing from him.

Scheduled an appointment for initial assessment of the roofing job. Nobody from this company showed up or even called.

Company arrived at 7:30 am, guys on roof by 7:45..job completed at 4:30..roof looks very nice best pricing i received out of 5 other quotes.

Came out to my mom's back in April, gave an estimate. Couple days later she called and said she wanted to go ahead with it. Said they would look at their schedule and call her back. After two weeks she still hadn't heard from them so she called back herself. They told her they still had to work out a time and would call her back. She hasn't heard from them since. She was hoping she could get the roof fixed before the summer storms but now I'll have to find another roofing company and start the process all over again.

I called him a couple times to have him come out to do more fence repair. He promised that he'd come out but he never showed. I called him a couple more times and he continued to promise that he'd be coming, and he never showed.

Very punctual on arriving. Got the work all done in one day. Cleaned everything up and left the place looking great.

These guys were great. Fred came out and gave me the quote. He was able to tell me exactly what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. I had other roofers that looked and couldn't tell where the leak was. His son and another man showed up to start the work. They removed my siding and shingles very carefully so it could all be reused after the repair. Then, Fred and the other guy showed up the following morning to complete the job. The picked up all the garbage and you could barely tell they were there. I would definitely recommend Fred for any roofing work. I just may need him again when I buy my next house.

Great. They showed up when they said they would, and got right to work, and worked hard. Very professional, gave great advice when asked. Would definitely hire them again.

They replaced the valley by interlocking new shingles. They replaced the boot around the chimney and added new shingles around the chimney.They also replaced needed plywood that had rotted out from the water leak. I watched from time to time. It was a lot of work to be done. A lot harder than just laying down a new roof. Alot of companies just want to sell you a new roof and not be bothered with doing repairs. There were three workers. It took two days.They worked in the rain part of one day.Any debris was cleaned up and hauled away. Mr. Collins came to the site several times to check on the work being done. Initially,I left a voice mail message requesting an estimate.He called back in a couple of days.We set a time for the inspection and he was on time calling ahead to let me know that he was on his way.He inspected the roof and we came to a mutual decision on the work to be done. The price seemed fair and he knew exactly what needed to be done. I had a long list of questions to ask him. He took his time in answering the questions and explained things to me until I fully understood. I felt good about our meeting and did not feel it necessary to get another estimate.The result of all of this was NO Roof Leak

They performed all work quoted professionally, expertly, courteously, and at a reasonable cost. I will definitely use Frederick Collins Construction in the future when needed.

Collins Construction tore off the old roof, put the new one on and had the chimney repairs taken care of in one day. The work crew was efficient, polite, and cleaned up around the house before they left. The did not leave any mess. They added soffits where needed. Fred Collins came back to inspect the finished job, himself. I would recommend and use Collins Construction for any project.

He did repairs on my roof two years ago and said he would fix the valleys on the roof. But when I had another service provider clean the chimney, they informed me that the valleys weren’t fixed, and even provided pictures of the “repair”. I also had a painter inform me that they were not fixed. I wanted to give Frederick Collins Construction another chance to correct this, they came back out, told me that they had patched the valleys, not repaired them. We made an appointment for them to come out, but they never showed up.

The guys arrived on time and were very professional. They did a complete tear off and haul away of 3 layers of shingles on both the house and the garage in a day. They had most of the garage complete on that day as well. Unfortunately for the guys, the shingle delivery couldn't get the shingles to the roof for them so they had to hand carry the shingles from the front yard. Over the next couple of days, they completed the shingling and trim work on the garage and house, and it looks great! They cleaned up daily, even running a rolling magnet over their work areas to pick up nails and keep the site clean. Once the job was complete, the owner stopped by and verified the job was done and that I was happy with the work. He even got up on a ladder to take care of a small thing for me that I could have done myself. Since the completion, we have had rain storms that have been the worst in 30 years and not a sign of leaking inside at all. All in all, I am very happy with the quality, professionalism and speed of the work. Definitely have and will recommend to anyone needing work on their house.

I would use them again in the future.

Fred gave us a competitive detailed quote for a new roof. He was prompt, knowledgeable, professional and very personable. The job was completed quickly and want perfectly from start to finish! Best of all, they did not leave a mess!!

I liked their workmanship and they seemed professional. I didn't like that they had scheduled us for 1 day. I called to see what time they were coming because we hadn't heard from them, and he said that he wouldn't be able to make it that day because they were pushed back. They had forgotten to call us. They were supposed to drop off the materials on Tuesday, and didn't show up until Wednesday. Then they started to stain which was supposed to have been done prior. It looks wonderful and they did do a nice job.

Work got delayed a bit because of some family medical problems...... Chimney work was done first by a mason that the contractor hired, no problems there..... gutter and caulking work was done by the contractor and his crew, had a small problem originally with the caulking that was done, contractor understood and agreed about resolution of the problem and sent his crew back out to take care of it........ I believe I received a good value for the money that I spent with these folks

Company had a scheduled appointment for an estimate between 10AM and 11AM. They did not show up for the estimate. Nor did they call to reschedule or state they were running late. Still have not hear from the company since the estimate was scheduled.

I spoke to him a few times and he kept saying he would come by to fix the issue but he never did. I keep trying to get a hold of him but he doesn't pick up the phone. I need my fence fixed and must look for another provider. It's a shame because when I did speak to him on the phone he was very nice.
