Jim Gardner

Jim is quite the professional. He was prompt and explained the work to be done, how long it would take and the overall price. He met all my expectations. His helper was also polite and respectful. When the job was done you would have never known that he'd been there - he cleaned the area just as he found it. I would defintely hire him again.

Jim did not respond to my inquiry for four weeks. Poor response time, will not inquire or hire Jim in the future.

It went absolutely fine. He's a little pricey.

So far, great. Not everything is finished yet, but that's on my end, not Jim's. He is really good at what he does and if he can't do something he tells you, talks it out with you and works to find a solution. I like the fact that even though my husband is usually the one here when Jim is working, he conducts all business dealings with me. He respects the fact that I hired him and does not take that lightly and is not at all dismissive. I can't say how much I appreciate that.

He definitely gave me the unfiltered truth on what needed to be done. For me, it would have been cost probative to have the work performed. However, Jim gave me some good advice to help mitigate the issue myself. While he did not perform any actual work, I appreciated his professionalism and thoughts on the job. I definitely would hire him for future work I would need done.

Jim was nice but overwhelmed and instead of saying so, wanted to hire others and charge way more than reasonable.

Jim was responsive and able to fit us right in. Quote was slightly less than another and with the ability to get the job done sooner, we went with him. He worked with another guy and they completed the job in a week. There was a spot that my husband attempted to DIY that needed extra attention and Jim kept coming back until it was right. He was very friendly and a good communicator.

Excellent, repairs were made and not only was water damage repaired and door properly sealed, after he re-hung it, it opens and closes smoothly. Something it hadn't done since house was new.

Great. He picked up the door, mounted the new one well, cleaned up and that was that.

Jim knows what he is doing and is very resourceful/creative at solving difficult problems. He has been updating my 45 year old home since last summer. If you expect a rigid 9a - 5p schedule, that may be difficult due to his purchasing of supplies, crew scheduling, and so on, but he will be there and do what needs to be done to get the job completed well. Jim does not have a problem with fix-it/touch-up issues which may arise after the big job is done. I recommend Jim highly and have other future projects, which he will be doing as well. In addition, Jim has replaced a outdoor basement window-well, custom built shelving/garden station in the garage, power washed the house exterior . . . the list is long!

When initially called he was very busy and said he couldn't get at my job for a couple of months. He promised he would get to me before snow came. Some 75 days later he called me and made arrangements to assess the job. He arrived punctually to do the assessment, set the price, and agreed to do the job a couple of days later. He was on time to do the job and completed it. His work was good and he cleaned up. I will use him again.

Good plumber came gave good estimate bought the parts did the job in less the 9 hrs.

Jim came promptly and did an excellent job on the deck and the windows. I couldn't be more pleased.

Jim promised to come early Spring for a project at my home. Called in March 2015 to say he would come shortly after the snow melted to perform the job. Not only was he a "no-show" but no call saying so. All things work out for the best but beware, the man is not good for his word.

Jim is a nice guy, and his services a pretty good value. I would definitely work with him again if I were strapped for cash and I didn't value my time very much. Jim came over promptly the very same day I emailed him asking if he could give me a quote on replacing a couple of spigots. Then he took ~2 weeks to email me with a quote, which was simply his hourly rate. We scheduled a date for him to perform the work on a weekday at noon; he was an hour late, which was inconvenient, but not a huge deal. He replaced the spigots, and the work looked good. However, about a week later, I noticed one of the spigots was leaking into the basement at the point where Jim had hooked it up to the pipe in the basement ceiling. Jim came back to look at it, and he insisted that nothing he did would have caused the leak. He then went on to say that he really doesn't prefer to do plumbing (that would have been helpful to know before I asked him to do this job). Despite his defensiveness, to Jim's credit, he did call a plumber friend of his to come repair the leak at no charge to us (P.S. The plumber said that Jim was definitely responsible for the leak). I wanted to give Jim the benefit of the doubt because he is a nice guy, and because he's a great deal, so I asked him to come back to take care of some old wiring in the basement ceiling (I figured I'd try a non-plumbing job). We agreed to meet on a weekday at 1 o'clock. Of course I took off work to meet him here at the house, and he was a no-show. When I called him to ask if we were still on, he apologized and said he got caught up at another job and forgot about our appointment. That's when I decided to call it quits on him. He's just a little too unprofessional for me to want to work with him on a consistent basis.

Great guy. Very busy man. Very glad he has had to stop work with is.

I highly recommend Jim. He cam with all the wood pre-cut and painted. He did all of this at his workshop sparing the time and clean-up required to do it on site. We were fitting him into a 1 week of owner occupancy on a summer rental. He came precisely when he said he would and finished on time. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and will definitely hire him again. In fact, we've already had him quote a price on another project. I don't often post reveiws . . . generally only when the service was very good or very poor. I'm happy to report that in this case it was really great!

The service was performed as promised. He did leave some extra grout mix.

Jim was personable and a straight-shooter. He provided legitimate estimates on a number of projects we were considering but didn't push us to spend money on a project we were not prepared to address right away. I will definitely approach Jim for future jobs at our rental property.

Jim was very professional. I felt comfortable with him in my home even when I had to step away to run errands. He was on time, very thorough, and a pleasure to work with. He did a great job! I would definitely refer him to my friends and family. And I would like to work with him again in the future as well!

Everything went great and we would use them again in the future.

This provider really knows what he?s doing. First, he made sure he knew what I needed and came up with building custom shelves that fit into an otherwise wasted space allowing me to free up floor space and organize art and office supplies. He was professional in every way and completed the shelves very quickly. The price was right, he came when he said he would and arrived promptly, workmanship was top-notch, he was easy to work with and listened carefully to what I wanted and applied that knowledge to the job. He even took the time to clean up after the job! How often does that happen? Love, love, love my new shelves!!!

He was prompt with an estimate and did the work right away on budget. He is pleasant to have in my home, I'd hire Jim again whenever necessary. Glad to have found this resource.

After nearly three years of in home care for my mother Senior Helpers were there for encouragement and personal care to prepare not only my mother but the family as well for leaving her home. Her husband could not care for her anymore and they both were removed to assisted living with memory care. They were careing and compashionate and in touch with us on a daily basis.

This was complicated work and Jim did a fine job diagnosing the problems and fixing them. He was on the job very quickly and stayed with it until done! Excellent work!
