THORNTON BROTHERS SEWER SVC

This company has been great to work with for several years; however, they changed owners sometime this year. Their rates have nearly doubled and they no longer stand by their work. I called them in when the sewer drain from my washing machine backed up. The tech was fantastic and worked very efficiently, but I was surprised to see such a drastic increase in cost. I paid it and didn't think much of it. Less than a week later, the same exact problem happened. When the tech came again, he and I discovered that the clog was actually in a different part of the line so he cleared that. He then expected me to pay a second time! I, of course, refused since this was the same problem that hadn't been appropriately fixed the first time. The new owner then came to my house and was very unprofessional. I will definitely never call them again and definitely do not recommend. It's a shame to see the new owners ruin what was a good company.

From the first phone call to schedule an appointment to the payment when the job was completed, the service was exceptional. The gentleman who scheduled our service was polite and professional. Randy did a through job cleaning out the lines and unclogging the drains. The price was very reasonable for the amount of time he was here and the work that was done. This is the second time we have used their service and would highly recommend them.

The whole experience with this company was positive from the phone call to a very polite and reactive receptionist/secretary/dispatcher all the way to the end of the project. I called on the mid-morning (10am) of 9/16/2016 explaining that we had our basement drain back up and make a puddle of waste, water and toliet paper on the floor surrounding the drain. She said she would work me in the schedule and would call back mid to late afternoon to let me know when the workman would arrive. Approximately between 1:45pm and 2pm , Randy called and told me he would arrive in 12 to 15 minutes. He did just as he said and I showed him the problem and he brought his auger equipment in the back door so as to avoid any mess through the house and he set up shop and went to work as I explained what had happened and I expressed my concerns for tree roots or broken lines (the house was built in 1929) He talked me through his whole process as he did it and was explaining how he could feel through auger line that there were no roots, because the auger would be working harder to cut through them. He got to the city sewer and started to withdraw his auger and explained he saw on my shelf the package of Charmin and said we had a clog of toilet paper and that Charmin is notorious for that and recommended we switch to one more apt to break down like Northern or Angel Soft. He said he couldn't feel roots and that the auger was clear of roots and that there didn't seem to be any breaks in the line, or that too he would feel through the auger line. He cleaned up the area, packed up his auger and said he what the price would be and said he would write me up a receipt, all of which he did and he thanked me and said not to hesitate to call again if we had anymore troubles. I went with this company based on Angies List ratings and other customers feedback. I am new to the area and literally know no one in the service industries here. So Thank you Angies List and thank you Randy from Thornton!

They stated they were busy when I called but would get someone out in the afternoon. I told them I was waiting to go out of town. I called at 11am and Randy was here by 1230p and completed the job within an hour.

There was a leak in my mother's basement . The sewer was backing up. The pipe was extremely clogged and Bob did not give up until he knew that the water was running through it well. My mother had called and asked for Bob in the past. He is thorough and very pleasant. He explains the problem well.

He showed up as promised and called first. Tech explained procedures that needed to be done and completed the work promptly. The tech had been to the house in the past for previous owner and so that helped.

They were very helpful and fair. I would recommend them to anyone. They came when they were supposed to and didn’t try to sell me anything extra.

He gave us suggestions. He was very good about his work.

Excellent; all around. I called and got the secretary, five minutes later the repairman called; we arranged a time the next day around my schedule; came on time. Friendly, knowledgeable , skilled. They gave me choices according to my budget. They completed the work quickly and it works! They also improvised and threw in a couple of minor fixes to my dryer legs and a drain from the AC that was also making my basement damp. They were great. I wish all of us worked as cheerfully and competently as these men did.

Great! My basement flooded, and the water had not completely receded, I thought the sewer needed an auger. On the phone he was knowledgeable about the conditions in my subdivision and explained and offered choices. I was exhausted and at my wit's end from hauling wet junk to the curb. I told him I wanted to try the auger he was here 10 minutes later, on a Sunday late afternoon. Did wonderful job in adverse conditions- it was still very wet-. He was polite and professional, took his time to do a good job, even though he must have been pretty tired himself with all the emergency calls this weekend.When I asked ,he advised me what type of service I needed next to clean up the basement. He even lit the water heater for me, which I couldn't do .... and wouldn't charge me for that- he said "It's just being a human being" Thanks to him I have a service coming tomorrow to extract and disinfect; and get to have a hot bathtonight. I really appreciate his kindness.
