They company finished the installation but was supposed to come back and do some more caulking and another add layer of sealant. The company has now closed for business and the owner never came back to finish the work.

Les and crew from Stonecraft came to my house to repair my roof overhang after an accident involving a tree service felling a tree directly onto my house. Stonecraft was here within 30 minutes of the tree falling on my house to assess the damage. After getting a bid on the damage the tree caused I asked them to give me a bid on replacing my asphalt shingles as well. I then hired them to do both jobs. They completely rebuilt the crushed overhang and replaced my entire asphalt roof system within a matter of a few days despite inclement weather. Their price was great, they were here when they said they would be here, and everyone on the crew was very professional and knowledgeable. In addition, Les also informed me that my house did not have proper venting in the attic/soffit and took the extra time and materials to fix the problem at no extra charge (insulation that had been improperly packed into the soffit area had to be removed and baffles affixed to allow air movement). Les also replaced some vinyl siding on my house (which was melted by the BBQ grill :)) at no extra charge. The finished roof looks great and I am pleased with their services. I would recommend Stonecraft builders to others looking for a contractor to get the job done correctly the first time at a great price.

We obtained 2 estimates for pole barn construction, one from a company who only builds pole barns, the other from Stonecraft Builders, LLC. The other company put us #30 something on the list to start, Stonecraft said they could start immediately. Stonecraft's estimate was $4000+ more than the other company, but we went with him because he could start immediately. It started out OK with the poles being set properly and the framing was square; it all deteiorated from there. The cement floor was to slope towards the doors, it slopes toward the middle. The siding was to be an off white with black trim. It is off white with white trim which does not match anything. The only black trim is on the corners. A loft door is black with awful white trim. The windows all leak both rain and snow. The sliding doors and walk through door also severely leak both rain and snow. The roof leaks both rain and snow. The metal roof and siding were not properly installed, the roof underlayment was improperly installed and not installed in some areas. They did not insert the foam pads under all the raised areas of the metal roof or sides. The doors are installed too low, snow falls from above the doors into the interior to the point that each horizontal 2x4 is covered with snow in the INSIDE of the pole barn. The doors bow out in the wind and the larger set of doors even separate in the wind, despite being and quot;securedand quot; at the outer edges. You can see daylight through the roof. There are snowdrifts inside the barn. He did not have the proper equipment to install this type of roof. A verbal comitment from Les that specific corrections would be made has yielded no response. Les has been called many times about these problems and eventually shows up with a case of caulk, sloppily applied and ineffective. His employees also come with a and quot;fixand quot; which does not correct the problem. They manage to leave behind a bunch of cigarette butts, a lot of trash, caulk and foam slopped all over the floor, walls and doors. A registered letter has been sent to Les with a list of the complaints, it received no response from him. We have pictures of all of these problems. During the process of building, which took months longer than promised, the yard was littered with hundreds of cigarette butts and trash. None were ever picked up and I know there are hundreds of them under the cement floor. We always kept the driveway clear for their trucks but they insisted on driving all over the lawn, treating it like a super highway or massive parking lot. The building materials and tool crib were stored on the lawn for months, killing large areas of the grass. Large areas of the lawn were destroyed by trucks, both delivery and employee vehicles. Jeff told me they would repair the damage, it was never repaired. There were days on end when they did not show up for work when they said they would, or would show up for an hour or less and leave for the day. We, personally, incurred additional costs by having gutters and downspouts installed by Mand M Gutters. They did an excellent job but it did not alleviate the problem of water in the pole barn when it rains (which obviously is due to a construction error). We also had Thomas Electirc wire the barn, they did a very professional job; we are very satisfied with both of these contractors. We also had Great Lakes Hydro grade and seed the area around the pole barn and are very satisfied with his work. All of our complaints are solely toward Stonecraft Builders LLC.

I didn't actually hire him to do the work, but if I hadn't decided to give the work to a relative in the business, Stonecraft Builders would have been my choice. He was prompt with looking at the roof, he was detailed, and prompt with the bid. I was impressed with his professionalism, his bid was fair, and so close with the other bids I had it was difficult to make a choice. I ended up going with someone I knew well and actually a relative. That was the only reason I didn't choose Stonecraft Builders. I would highly recomment Stonecraft.

They do cover everything around house and excellent clean up. They were on time and completed the job when they said they would. Everything was done with professionalism.
Description of Work: I had gotten 3 estimates for doing my roof. I picked Stonecraft Building Specialists because of the professionalism, price and how soon they could get the job done. Stonecraft remove existing shingles and install 6' ice and watershield, 15# felt, pipe boots, new can vents and Landmark 130 MPH shingles and caps. They covered all bushes and even the in ground pool. Their clean up was excellent with picking up any nails that might have fallen with a magnet sweeper. They even fixed the brick on the chimmey that was falling apart. The roof looks beautiful and I would highly recommend them. I also found out they do other servies such as Concrete, Replacement Windows and Home Improvement to mention a few.
