Monday, 3/31/2014 I took the morning off from work to make appointments. I called Summertime Concrete Precast after looking at the information from their website. I talked to a guy about buying 1 new, precast, cement step for my front porch. 1. He explained that salt was the reason why my current step was crumbling, and that I needed to put a protective coating on my new step to keep the salt out. This coating would also make the step water resistant. He stated that hardware stores carried this product. 2. The step would cost $49. 3. I told him it would be necessary for him to delivery it . He said because he needed to hire someone to help him, he would have to charge me another $50. I said fine and gave him my address. 4. Though the guy said they are normally closed on Saturdays, they could bring the step next Saturday, 4/5, around 11:00. After the call I realized that I forgot to ask him about getting rid of my current step. Maybe I can get my son to break up and remove it. Saturday, 4/5/2014 I had a previous appointment for this morning that I had made a month ago but I canceled it so I could be home for the delivery of my cement step. Eleven o'clock came and went. Summertime Concrete Precast didn't show up or contact me. Since the guy said they were normally closed on Saturday's, I couldn't call to find out where they were. He should have said at any time in our conversation last Monday that he doesn't deliver, and if I wanted the step I would have to pick it up myself sometime during their business hours of M-F 8:00 to 4:00. He didn't. If he would have, then I could have looked for another cement business to buy and deliver my step. Since he was inconsiderate and dishonest, I cannot recommend Summertime Concrete Precast.
