We offer whole house inspection services for home buyers and pre-sale inspections for home sellers. We can perform septic inspections and water testing for rural areas. Additional single item inspections are available such as; foundation, roof, or structural. Mold Assessment and Radon testing are offered as well.

Description of Work: Ryan did a thorough evaluation. He pointed out each strength and weakness of the home. Unfortunately there were more weaknesses and we decided against purchasing the home. It was money WELL spent. It also was a learning experience for us. We know more about what to look for when considering buying.

Van Wert Inspections were on time. Did a complete inspection of the property. I have renters in the home at the present time, and asked that the inspection was not discussed with them, since I will be placing the property on the market for sale. I recieved a detailed report, with plenty of pictures and descriptions of the issues that were found. I would use them again. The only negative, if this would be considered one is that they don't take credit cards. I wanted to pre-pay for the service since I am out of town. They said no. Okay-fine. However once the inspection was finished Mr. Van Wert addressed the issue of payment 3 times in two days- and that was two days after the inspection. This did rub me the wrong way-it felt like he thought I was going not pay the bill. He did do outstanding work- he just needs to figure out a policy for out of town customers so that he feels more secure in doing business from a distance.

Inspected roof, foundation, electrical, furnace, basement, garage, insulation, ventilation, etc. The following day a detailed 17 page report with photos was available on line. Very thorough. We are very satisfied.

The inspector was very thorough and knowledgable about what was ok, not ok and why. He pointed out some obvious issues that we missed. I have had inspections before and I felt this guy was the most high tech which worked to our advantage. In the end with everything that was pointed out that was negative we decided not to buy the house but will use them again when we find another house.

I have in the house and have not found any more problems. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Home was inspected, he pointed out several small problems and one major problem. Roof need to be replaced, he knew the manufacture of the shingles and when they produced the bad batch. Larry was at the house early and had started the inspection before we arrived. He recomended local contractors to repair the problem.

Overall, he was a great help in our decision about whether to purchase the home. We saw that there was a great deal of work to be done and he covered every area of the house from basement to attic and porches to roof. We were grateful to have him and look forward to working with him again,
Description of Work: Mr. Van Wert had arrived an hour early for the appointment and already inspected the roof of a two story brick, 1900 farm house. Determined that the main roof had asbestos shingles and needed new underlayment. He spent the next approximately two hours explaining, in plain english, what needed to be done to what, where and in what order he thought it should be performed. When told of our hopes for how the house may be remodeled he also explained how that could be accomplished and the approximate cost to make the building up to code and habitable. He pointed out what would be major issues (plumbing, sewage and electrical) and what would likely be non - concerns (some tuck pointing and settling issues with the brick exterior), along with what could be down right dangerous and needed immediate attention (exterior electrical to out buildings). He also gave a cursory look at the out buildings even though we had no plans for them other than to demolish them.
