Mr. Roof of Southeast Michigan

The sales person who came out was very polite, professional, and very low pressure. He asked a lot of questions, took measurements, and gave us a quote before leaving. A big plus for us was that he did not try to give us a long spiel to sell his product. The price was lower than the other quotes I'd been given, and their Thunderguard line of shingles has a 100% guarantee for life of the building (transferable). There are fewer color choices than with the standard shingles, but we were satisfied with the choices. We were given a $500 discount for being able to pay upfront rather than needing to finance it. The point about the guarantee that he didn't mention at the time was you have to remember to call Mr. Roof when the roof is 10 yrs old for an inspection, and every 5 yrs after that. Still, that is not unreasonable although I'm not sure how I'm going to leave a reminder to myself to have it inspected in 2023. Furthermore, the first 10 years are straight-up covered for any quality issues. On the other hand, all the other quotes were higher AND had a "limited lifetime guarantee" on their shingles. In other words, if the shingles have been proven to have failed within their expected life, the manufacturer will replace them. The quality of installation, however, is not covered by that guarantee. If you choose a different company, that is a good question to ask of them. The company sent a good-sized crew of men (5 or more). Only one was a fluent English speaker, but all I had to do was ask for him by name, and someone would get him quickly. Rain delayed the arrival time, but they still came and got started a little late. Even with the late start, the were in and out in the same day. They cleaned up after themselves, too. I found little bits and pieces of paper around, but so far the only nails I've found were ones that bounced up on the porch. They used a rolling magnet contraption to pick up anything magnetic in the yard. We are very satisfied with the end result. The roof looks beautiful. No more leaks during torrential rains. Now we need to get the house painted to match our nice, pretty roof.

Called Mr. Roof to get an additional quote from one of the 'larger' companies just to see how my other quotes were lining up. Once requested a quote online I was bombarded w/3-4 phone calls a day to set up an appointment, and all calls were from different people and different locations. I can appreciate their responsiveness, but please give me some time to call you back. After at least 6-8 total voice mails from Mr. Roof, I finally got a chance to call them back and booked an appointment for a week later. For that appointment I was promised a free estimate and complete roof inspection. On the day of the appointment the estimator arrived early (which can be a bad thing) and seemed rushed. He did not conduct any sort of inspection or job appraisal. Instead he tried to strong sell me about how awesome Mr. Roof is because of their rubber shingle, and how any other shingle/roof company was terrible, often interrupting me when I tried to share some of my own findings . He said he needed/wanted run some sort of software program to get an accurate estimate for me, and return 1 week later to review. In return he was going to leave me w/a DVD to watch. I was left wondering why wasn't this done in advance of my appointment, as every other company I had met with came prepared, reviewed all details of the and left me a formal estimate at the end of the appointment. I let 'Mr. Roof' finish up his sales pitch so that he could get out of my driveway as quickly as possible. One week later he did follow up to let me know that his 'analysis' was done, at which time I had already had 4 fully vetted quotes from other local companies. Please don't feel compelled get a quote from Mr. Roof....they are a complete waste of time.

There weree 5 people on my roof and they found that there were only one nail on each corner of the particle board on the roof and had to go to Lowe's to get nails to nail down the sub roof before they put the shingles on. When they pulled out of the driveway at 5:30 the roof was done, all the old shingles and debris was picked up and not even a nail was left behind. I have two other neighbors that have recieved the same workmanship and I would recommend thtem to anyone.

Mr. Roof arrived at the scheduled time, 8:30 am, and work began immediately. Bushes and shrubbery were covered with tarps and the tear-off began. New sheathing was used to replace old material and in fact more was needed than originally quoted, but the roof did need to be replaced when I first bought the house, so it was kind of expected. The crew broke for lunch for about 45 minuets and then back to work to complete the job. I had the roof on the house and the garage (2 car) replaced and they were nearly done at 5:00 pm. As they were putting the finishing touches on the job much of the crew began to pick up all of the material that was torn off and was now on the ground. They did a very good job with the clean up and in fact used a wheeled magnet to sweep the sidewalks, driveway and lawn looking for loose roofing nails from the tear-off. There were no accidents - no one fell off the roof - and they were all very cordial and polite. I probably could have saved a little bit by looking for several more estimates but I was well pleased with the salesman and they guaranteed that the job would be completed in one day. I would use them again in the future if the need arose and I would give them very good marks as to being able to deliver what they promised ! ! ! Recommended!

They did a good job replacing out roof, so we hired them to do work in our kitchen. They did not finish the job and we ended having to hire an electrician to re-do some of the work that these guys did incorrectly. They would not return our calls or finish the job. To clarify: their work on the roof was done very well and timely, but the kitchen was the main problem.

This company worked with us even as we had an insurance claim and allowed us to wait for their payment after the service was done, they were very good about coming in and getting the job done with great results and they cleaned everything before they left. In all a very good experience and i would recommend them to anyone, they did a great job and it was done in one day.

They did a very good job. The roof looks good & I got everything I expected. The people they sent were good too.

I would not recommend them to others. The shingles were defective and they have known about it for three years and haven't done anything about it. They are totally unresponsive. They had promised lifetime warranty.

. Mr Roof is only interested in working on very simple roofs.

Made appointment for estimation on this Wednesday 5pm. When I rushed back to home at 5pm, got a call from the Mr. Roof that the rain was hard so they cannot came. But the rain was not started at 5pm, it had been a while. Couldn't you notify the customer early? Rescheduled for Saturday today 2pm. I waited at home to 3pm and none shows up. Extremely disappointed by such behavior.

Things you should know going in: * The estimate took 2 hours. The sales guy was confident and acted as though he knew that we were going to hire his company from the beginning. He brought example of every product that Mr. Roof uses and was very informative. At the end of that two hours, I knew a lot more about roofs that I had previously. * The sales person will provide you with compelling reasons why you should spring for the expensive all-rubber shingle that is designed to outlast the cockroaches. But, ask yourself, do you really need a roof that is going to last for 40 years when, for about 50% less, you could have one that will last for 15 years? * This company will haggle with you. We had estimates from other local companies and when our Mr. Roof sales person gave us a quote that was higher than the estimates, we called him on it. At that point, he had already spent two hours of his time with us and was really looking to close the sale. When we told him that we were not ready to make the decision right away, he beat our best estimate by $500, which sealed the deal. The Actual Job The crew showed up at 7:30 in the morning and worked nonstop until 2pm. They were a lively bunch and did not seem to care that my neighbors were probably still sleeping. So, if you live in a neighborhood where the houses are close together, you might want to warn your neighbors beforehand. They did the job exactly the way the sales person said they would; our sales person had explained in detail what to expect and he was not wrong, which was pleasing. Our bungalow had only four vents on the old roof. Mr. Roof put in an additional 6 vents (recommendation of our sales guy). Our new roof looks wonderful. Very satisfied with the work these guys did.

They did an excellent job. They were great. They came in and got all the work done in one day. They brought a team of 6 or 8 men to get the project done. They did not leave any roof debris in the yard. They were very professional.

Sales rep was courteous and prompt, took time to thoroughly explain everything and answer all questions. In the end I ended up using another company based on price and a friend's recommendation.

They did a shotty job. They broke windows, damaged our landscaping, and we found nails in our yard. They had to come back out and fix a really bad job. This took a good six months to resolve the problems. The price included a deduction for damages.

My overall experience with them was fine. I didn?t use their services since I chose another company based on the ratings that I read online. I would probably not use Mr. Roof again since I was very happy with the company I chose.

They gave me a 50 year warranty on the shingles, plus the shingles I chose qualified for the $1500 tax credit. They went above and beyond, including replacing a gutter which had fallen off of my garage. They were quick and did the whole job in one day. Everything went well. They were very professional. They cleaned up well.

Started at 9am and by 2pm, they were all done. I live in a mobile home and it was no problem to complete the service.

There was a spot on the roof that leaked. So, they came out and fixed it. However, it started to leak again. This happened four years after they had put in the new roof. I had a 10 year warranty on the roof. They came out again and fixed it. Since then, there has been no problem with the roof. I can say that, if they make a mistake, they?ll come back and fix it. They stand behind their work. I feel that I got exactly what I paid for, with Mr. Roof.

The salesman came in and gave us a price and went over some terms for financing the roof, and when we talked to the office we got an even better financing deal. When I tried to contact him for some questions, he wasn't in at the moment, but the office was also available to answer my questions. They came out and built the roof and installed some insulation all in the same day. I did try and call my salesman again but I could never get a hold of him.

They got the job down in one day. After I got the roof done, I realized they had a bunch of advertisements, coupons and such so I'm not sure I did get the price.

The work was done on schedule and the roof looks good. The workers cleaned up after themselves. We are very happy with the work that was done. The only problem we had was that the sales person told us that the installation would be completed "on Tuesday if that appointment is still available" and once we signed the contract, we couldn't get a return call from him to tell us when the installation would actually occur. Once we threatened to cancel the contract, he called us back right away with the installation date which was still within a week of our initial meeting with him.

From the very beginning we quickly realized that we were in the midst of a nightmare. They provided shoddy workmanship, and that is being kind. After much anguish, stress, and finally, threats of legal action, Mr. Roof, begrudgingly, agreed to tear off everything and start again. This was only after we obtained a roofing inspection by an independent inspector; therefore, I cannot recommend Mr.Roof for any type of contractual work. The owner's of Mr. Roof were in the midst of selling the company at the time; therefore, I cannot attest to the quality that the new owners are currently providing.

They came out and did an estimate which they refused to honor. They came out and did another and it was 3000 dollars higher. They were pretty arrogant and I was very displeased.

They did the job in one day. They did a good job. They cleaned up everything.
