Description of Work: My air conditioner quit on one of the many super-hot days. It had been making a weird noise, so I made an appt for the soonest available, which was 5 days away. When it quit completely, they sent someone out and installed the new motor. I could breathe again, so I was extremely grateful.

Description of Work: I asked the service man to check our fireplace for carbon monoxide, since both carbon monoxide detectors went off simultaneously when I used an infrequently used gas fireplace for the first time this season. It was after normal hours, so I had to pay a premium price for the home visit. He suggested that we purchase new batteries for the CO detectors, even though it said on the detectors that they were purchased only 7 months before. I nonetheless replaced the batteries, and the detectors went off again about a week later, the next time I used the fireplace. I scheduled another visit this morning, waited for 4 hours, and when no one showed up I came in to work. The guy called at 3 PM saying that the schedule had gotten messed up. I canceled and called another furnace outfit (from a name from Angie's List this time).
