Guardian Tree Experts

After having used another local tree service in the Ann Arbor area, I called Guardian for their opinion and pricing. Garret visited us and took his time explaining issues with our pear trees, one of which we decided to have cut down, as well as the pruning required on our Red Maple, Service Berry, Magnolia, and Willow Bushes. The crew that came to do the work was excellent. Garret had ensured they were well-briefed on the work, and they efficiently, and quickly removed the 30+ foot Pear that was in our courtyard. They carefully cleaned up all the areas that they worked in and completed all work within a day. We won't hesitate to contact them for future work and would highly recommend them.

All was very good, but the tree straightening didn't turn out as good as I thought it would.

Our experience was very good working with Garrett who is a certified arborist. Our 35' blue spruce toppled over during a storm, along with a lot of other folks in the area. They were quick to cut up and remove the downed tree laying across the driveway, then left to help others with their downed trees. They came back a week later and removed the stump and ground it down. Meanwhile, Garrett came out and we discussed a replacement tree, deciding on a 6'-7' concolor fir. The tree was planted shortly after but did not survive the summer thus they replaced the tree and this it is thriving.

Guardian Tree Experts has provided us with top notch service. They were amazingly responsive with cutting up and removing a post storm fallen tree laying across our driveway. Garrett is responsive in returning calls and has been by a few times. He helped us pick a tree replacement since Blue Spruce are no longer recommended for planting in MI and then made sure we were satisfied and discussed care after its planting. He gave us options for the fungus affecting our crab apple trees and we opted for trimming and spraying, bringing them back to health. The replacement tree is a beautiful concolor fir but sadly died. Garrett took care of replacement per their 1 year warranty without issue and it's doing very well. We will definitely use them again when the need arises.

Guardian Tree Experts does a really good job. We use them every spring and fall.

Kris came out to look at the fallen tree and gave me an estimate. His team was able to come out within the week to remove the old tree. They were then able to come back a couple weeks after that to perform the stump grinding, prepare the soil, and place a new 7 foot tree. I watched the operation and appreciate the speed and efficiency they perform the tree removal. After the extreme cold winter of February 2014 turned some of the tree leaves brown, they came out immediately at my request to inspect the health of the tree. Their great service has turned me into a lifelong customer.

The only knock against Guardian was their pricing. I contacted 3 providers for quotes on tree trimming and removal. Two were comparably priced but Guardian quoted me 30-40% more than the other providers.

Scheduling and the work were both great. They are trained arborists. The work took a team of about 3-4 a half day to complete. They brought their own chipper and they mulched the branches down and the clean up was very thorough. You couldn't tell they were ever here. They were very professional. I would use them again.

They were polite and informative. They even took a glance at my 3 year old trees the city planted in the easement and gave me a couple of suggestions for their maintenance. I truly would recommend them to anyone.

The experience was terrific. They know their stuff. I was just surprised at how smoothly it went. The staff was great and personable. They were very nice.

We saw their ad in the Ann Arbor Observer. They came to inspect, gave an accurate and informative estimate, and answered all our questions and concerns. Kris Adler is very intelligent and sensible in coming up with a plan to help our trees. They did structural work (a support cable) on the aging apple tree, and sprayed for fire blight on this and the crabapple, They pruned both trees. Garrett Brun did this work and notified us when he was starting and finishing. He was able to explain what the chemicals were (organic!) and how long to stay out of the yard. Both trees are happier and the apple is hanging in there despite its age. In 2012 they inspected our ailing white pine, and recommended an oil coating to deter aphids, and deep mulching. They did this work and the pine is looking better. Next we will ask them about our balsam fir. These are knowledgeable and talented people who know about trees but also understand that trees are like family pets to those who love them! They take safety and aesthetics very seriously and will help you to do the best for your trees, both to protect your investment and to make nature part of your life. They have a seasonal newsletter that has valuable information and is a treat!

Guardian Tree Experts removed the broken branches from my White Pine after the February 2013 storm. That work was done promptly and efficiently with a minimum of mess. Since then, I have contracted them to carry out some remedial treatment on my Pine because it is looking undernourished and unhappy. I'm really pleased so far with the work that has been done and look forward to many years with a healthy tree.

Work delayed due to weather, but contractor communication was great. Work done on new date as agreed to. Workers were polite and worked without break until finished. Cleanup was acceptable after requesting they remove wood chips and sawdust from sidewalk.

Guardian didn't just bid on what I asked for, but assessed the situation and gave good advice. Their bid was the lowest of three local companies. Removing a massive elm tree takes most of the day -- I was very impressed by their skill, teamwork, and professionalism. They also followed up to make sure I was happy with the job, and came back to make sure the lawn was totally cleaned up. I will definitely use Guardian again -- great job!

The bid seemed fair, and the work was done rapidly and with great care not to damage surrounding plantings. Stump grinding was promised within a week, and that was taken care of without any reminding. Very professional, and the workmen were all strapping lads. I could not keep my wife away from the window.

This company is phenomenal! I truly believe in certification, and they have one of only two ISA certified master arborists in the state. I received my estimate from this arborist, and the writing was very clear and detailed. I knew exactly what to expect and what I was paying for. They do not use spurs when climbing trees, because they understand the damage spurs cause. Their price is a little higher than others, but you're definitely getting what you pay for with Guardian.

From our first contact, the examination of our trees and the providing of the Quote for service, to the final clean-up this company's personnel never failed to impress. They were on time, neat and orderly, polite to a fault, and left my trees and yards looking beautiful. I am not prone to gushing on about getting a service that I pay for, but this was one of my best experiences when dealing with any contractor.

They were great, and we really enjoyed them. Their prices were fair, they were quick, and they did the work well. they also gave us good advice.

They did a fantastic job through-and-through both front and back. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I haven't even gotten the bill yet. The job was very good and I would recommend them.

Did an excellent job with efficiency, carefulness as well as a very good clean up after finishing. I have had some college classes in forestry and the trimmers couldn't have done the job in protecting the trees and thinning appropriately. The company estimate was a bit higher than others but I have a Gingko tree which is beyond 30 years old and had some limbs that were rubbing one another. I wanted someone who really knew how to trim the tree without risking its health. If there is more tree work to be done in the future I'll ask for this company in a New York minute.
