Response from Elysium Painting Company
Member, thank you for your review and feedback. I apologize for the huge difference between our quote price and your next nearest! 90% of the time, our quotes are within 10% of all other professional estimates. A few reasons there could be a large discrepancy: 1) We carry a very good liability insurance policy for everyone's protection. This and Worker's Compensation do add a small amount onto our project cost, but are pretty essential and may not be reflected in quotes from independent painters. 2) Were the quotes apples to apples? We provided a very thorough 2-coat estimate with an outline of prep work to ensure the job lasts 12+ years. We can write very sparse quotes for less work - often priced at 50-60% below our standard quotes - but found out that most people really rather have a good, thorough job. Sorry if we didn't include a cut-and-dry option on your quote [and sorry if you only got such an option from other painters - especially if they didn't present a thorough painting plan for you to choose!] 3) Our quotes often incorporate labor and materials. Were the other quotes labor only? if so, that could account for a 15-25% difference. We also project using very high grade materials unless requested, and this was brought up with you at the quote. If someone quoted you planning a lower-grade paint and economy products, that could increase the difference to 20-30% on top of other items above. 4) Our quotes usually include a small surcharge for extended 8-10 year warranties, if requested. These can be sectioned off and eliminated, and that option is usually written on the quote and expressed during the estimate. 5) If there was anything else not mentioned above, please let us know and we'll see what we can do to better work within your budget! Thanks again so much for your time, your feedback and the opportunity to work with you, -David Landau Owner, Elysium Painting Company
