Dish Network

We have a contract. We agreed on a two-year commitment and the dish is included in the price. The service is good. They were good at cable offering or listing offering. The quality is good. It has very few interruptions. The only thing is the price is a little high. I've been with the company for 12+ years and the cost is nothing but goes up and the offering are about the same. The technology hasn't substantially increased. We don't have a cable competitor where we are located.

I wouldn't recommend Dish Network. They are very expensive, we had trouble when they were doing the installation. It took them maybe 3 or 4 times before things worked right. The installation didn't go very well. We have the 250 channel package and the hopper. We have tried to get on demand but it takes so long for the movies to download, it is not even worth it.

I had Dish Network for several years. Dish Network never gave us any trouble with our contract. They would just keep charging the same thing unless you called them back and asked if there were any special deals. I like that. The onus was on me to check if there were any good deals, but they did not penalize me or try to take advantage of me. We only lost service through the weather about three times, and the worst was about 12 hours. Customer Service were helpful if I ever had a problem. One of their callers was not interested in saving my account. I don't remember the details but I had this one bad experience with them which affects the grade I have given for Professionalism.

They don't provide phone or internet services unlike other cable providers who offer bundled services. I was satisfied with them, but there turned out to be a problem with dish. I signed up with their service in November, four or five years ago. Their service was fine, and I was happy until April or May of the following year, and then all of a sudden there was a problem. It turned out that the problem was when they came to install the service in November, there were no leaves on trees, so they didn't have any trouble finding their satellite up overhead with the dish, but then the leaves started to sprout on the trees in spring, and all of a sudden their satellite was blocked, so they sent the service man out to try to redirect the dish and move it around and try to find a way, but the dish turned out to be impossible. The guy climbed up on the roof, tried moving off the one edge of the property, but there was just nothing that he could do. They tried to provide service, and they provided service for maybe six months or so, and it was fine until the satellite got blocked, and then I just couldn't have the dish here because the only other alternative was I should have started cutting down the trees around my house, so I gave up on Dish and switched to another cable provider, and their satellite is in a better location, so it worked out better with them. They let me out of their contract without any penalty or anything like that. I would not use them again in the future because of their technical problems.
