A & M Painting and Powerwash - Robert Meschke

Everything looks great. Had a little mix-up on the color of the garage door, which was quickly and professionally rectified. The men who did the work were very polite and nice. Very reasonably priced. Would hire again.

The owner came out and gave an estimate and made a good impression. But, it was downhill from there. Half the time, I was not told when the crew was scheduled to come out. Once I called to check, and was informed that the crew was scheduled to be out in a couple of hours! They were here a total of 6 times. During the powerwash, one whole portion of the deck was omitted, and left bright green with algae. A different crew came to stain the deck the next week, unannounced. The crew chief never introduced himself, and his appearance was not what I consider professional. I showed him the algae. He said he would scrub it off. His first concern was selecting his playlist, and he supplied the whole neighborhood with his music. Stain was applied without my confirmation that the green sections were cleaned. It rained in the middle of staining so the workers had to leave the deck halfway finished. When it was completed the next week, the crew did not touch up places where the freshly-applied stain from the week before had washed off. So, I sent photos of the spots that needed touch-up, and a worker came out the next week (unannounced) to fix them, but he did not consult the photos, and he didn't see anything to fix. He came back later that day, after I had marked 17 spots for touch up. He expected to find a portion of stain that is usually left behind for the owner's use, but no stain was left with me. So, he came back the next day with the supplies, painted the spots where stain had washed off, places that had been completely missed, places where stain had been applied over bird droppings and already chipped off, and he removed stain that had sprayed on my doorwall. He left a gallon of stain with me, and apologized. "These things happen sometimes." I have hired other companies in the past that did much better work, for less money. Very disappointed in this experience with a company that advertises themselves as "specialists in premium and high-end work". I have not heard from the owner.

The team was great. During the quote Robert walked me through around the house and showed me areas that would required special attention and how they would handle it. We discussed the issues I had with the property include the combination of Wood, Aluminum and Vinyl siding and making sure the paint was going to stick. The communicated what was going on was outstanding and I knew when and where the team would be. On the day we started I was met at the house by one of the workers and Robert and we again walked the job. Day one - power washing - just that made the house look really good. We then had some rain so the job was delayed - they called and let me know what was going on. We lost 2 days due to the weather - but then they were right on the job working the weekend to catchup. I got a call to let me know about when the team was going to be done. As I walked the finished job the team was looking over the house as well and checking for touch-ups which they did on the spot. The job site was cleaned up well and honestly the house look so good. Outstanding job. I would certainly use them again.

Overall paint job not bad. Bur they forgot to paint the doors as asked. Guys left dried paint splatter in several areas of wooden floor and window sills. Had to carefully scrape off dried paint. Not worth rheir price!

A&M came out and power washed deck. The next day they came out and stained repainted the deck. Everything went well. The deck looks like brand new. Company did an excellent job. Very professional and helpful.

When I look at the finished job, I believe it went pretty well. The quality of the overall work is excellent and the painting crew were both personable and skilled at their jobs. They managed to work around some weather and neighbor (one grouch that didn't want to move his car) problems even though the job seemed to take a little longer than it should have because they would sometimes show up for a couple of hours with a smaller crew and leave early. My only concern is that it seemed that they might have overextended themselves by taking too many jobs, thinning out the work crews and not accounting for the type of bad weather that we had this year. Once the majority of the work was done, they were off to another job site, as per their schedule, yet my house was not fully completed. However, they did get back after almost a week and within about 4 hours or so had finished every detail of the job. The only complaint is that it took too long for them to clear the time to come back and finish the job. I liked the people, am completely satisfied with the quality of the paint job, they used quality materials/paint and attended to every detail before they would consider a section completed. They are very quality conscious, which is a major strength for Aand M. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, although I would insist that they finish the job before moving on to another.

It didn't go at all. I called Robert, of Aand M Painting for an estimate on repainting two exterior doors to be painted along with their jams. There was also one White interior pocket door that needed to come out and be repainted with an oil base paint and sanded to a fine finish when done. A basement bathroom Cherry pocket door had to be sanded and re-stained and urathaned also. And last there was a basement hallway that needed some minor drywall work and a fresh coat of paint. Bob did an EXCELLANT job selling his company, employees, and service ethics and attention to quality and detail that I wanted. At that point I told him he had the job and just give me the quality I was looking for and we would be good. Bob said that this is the busy season for painters and he was about was about a month or better before he could do it. I said that wasn't an issue but I really would like to get the cherry door done asap. I told him that he could have access to the house anytime so if there was a job that went fast or he was delayed for construction reasons he had a place to send one or two guys out to fill in the non income producing hours if need be. He promised that I would have an email quote by the end of the day. Several days later I called him to inquire as to the status of my bid. I got his voice mail and left a message. I left several more messages over the next two weeks with the last message telling him to let me know if we were further out to get my work done or whether there was not enough for him to do. Just let me know because if he decided my job was too small I could go on and find another contractor. I never received a call back.

Excellent. I callled Robert Menchke on Thursday, May 8. He responed to my message in about 10 min. We arranged for my estimate the next day, Friday, May 9- called before coming. Came on time. He said they powerwash on rainy days- planned to do the job by the end of next week. Monday, May 12th- Rain expected all week - I left a message- let him know I wanted to be home when they worked. He responded within a few hours- would arrive the next day. Tuesday, May 13 at 9:30- called right on time with a crew of 4 ( one of them was him ). The guys were polite, courteous and very conscientious about their work. I had concerns about wood paint trim with craved details and wanted cerein areas to be treaded with much care- Robert was there to let the crew know about my wishes and concerns. They were also interested in "repeat business" which I value as a vey good sign of a company that is concerned about how pleased I was with the job. They did a wonderful job- no damage at all to my trim-they moved storage cupboards around my house- cleaned up leaves on my driveway- moved plant shelves I didn't expect them to- put everything back- all my flowers around the fence were unharmed and didn't upset my mother robin nesting by my garage :) . Other than a wonderfully clean house and fence, I wouldn't have known they were there that day. Absolutely no water inside my house ( main part of house is older, 1928 with original, restored windows, weather stripped very well but I had my concerns.) No bad language- a group of very pleasant guys. Finished job about 4:30 that afternoon. I am extremely pleased- Thank you Robert and your crew

Robert came out to take measurements and show us some sample colors a day or two after I called. He has several binders with photos of past projects in case someone needs inspiration. And it lets you see different colors in real situations. Two weeks later they power-washed on a Saturday and painted on a Sunday. Extremely meticulous. The painter taped around the edges and covered up areas where the new color didn't belong. Cleaned everything up and took the stuff with him. Left us the rest of the can of paint for touch-ups, etc. Superb!

He was punctual and gave me a detailed bid. He power washed the house for me and his team did some exterior painting the following day. They provided the service they said they would and communicated very well. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

Terrific. They are honest, efficient and reasonably-priced. I've used their services many times in the past, probably going on 10 years now. If I'm not home I just leave the check in an envelope taped to the door.

Robert is great. In the past he has done my gutters and he powerwashed my deck before I painted it. Reasonably priced and efficient.
