 + -1 moreTri-Lakes came out with 48hrs of us contacting them. Their tech diagnosed the problem as the compressor needing to be recharged but that since the fridge was over 10yrs old, the compressor may need to be replaced if it didn't hold the recharge. They gave us a price for both and we had them recharge it. Sure enough, a week later the fidge wasn't holding temp. Since the cost of the new compressor was as much as a new small apartment fridge (all we need at our cottage), we decided to buy a new fridge vs have a new compressor put in a 10yr old fridge. About 10 days later, a check arrived in the mail from Tri-Lakes refunding our service call fee for the recharge because they didn't fix the problem. WOW!! We didn't expect a refund. We took our chances by choosing the recharge. Tri-Lakes has our business for life.

 + -1 moreDan had to trouble shoot why our side by side refrigerator door would not close tightly. He determined that it was not the cam and found the hinge was riding too low. Once the hinge was raised, the door closed correctly. Dan also figured out why the drawer on our stove would not open (drawer wheel nut and bolt fell apart). This was not a simple fix. Dan had to remove the oven door, loosen the drawer handle screws, remove the drawer handle, and then figure out why the drawer would not open. Dan was punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, and did an outstanding job. We highly recommend Dan and Tri Lakes.
Description of Work: Fixed side by side refrigerator door that would not close tightly and unjammed the drawer below the oven on the stove (drawer could not be opened).

Description of Work: We had two service issues - one on a Sub Zero fridge and one on a gas grill. Service on the fridge was terrible. Charged the unit with freon and said if it lost cooling again it needed a rebuild and they recommended another company for that. It lost freon immediately. Called other company who rebuilt the unit and had Sub Zero cover the parts. Our grill needed a new vie and he tracked down the part and installed it. Note: two different technicians! First one was obviously not interested in resolving the problem , second tech was thorough and professional .

Service staff was very knowledgeable and made several helpful suggestions by phone to help us assess the problem. Company was recommended by sales person at a local appliance store.

Description of Work: We have a very expensive, outdoor gas grill that is approx. 7 yrs. old. The burner unit was not working and the manufacturer said they could send us a new burner, but they had no idea who could install it, as they have had little to no experience with their products being in Northern Michigan. They suggested a company in Traverse City, who said they don't bother coming to Petoskey. We called Tri Lakes in Oden and they couldn't have been more responsive. First, they called the manufacturer and talked to them about the new burner unit and how to install it. Then, they arranged to have the part shipped to them and then they promptly came out and installed it. Their charge was $200 to come out and install the new burner - the manufacturer charged us $900 for the parts. This was well worth it to us as a replacement grill now sells for over $11,000. We'll definitely recommend Tri Lakes. They are fantastic!

Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I called this company for a service repair on a stove and refridgerator. The stove was not heating up and the refridgerator needs to be manually defrosted about once every two weeks. The appointment was set up for approximately one week later. I was forced to take the day off work because they gave me a window of 8am - 4pm for arrival. When the day arrived for service I waited around all day and they did not show up. I called the company at 4pm and asked for the estimated time of arrival. I spoke with someone named "Peggy" who stated that she must have copied my phone number down wrong and the technicians were done for the day so the best they could do is come out tomorrow. I explained to her I cannot keep taking days off work in hopes they may arrive, and reminded her I gave her my number the night before, to which she responded, "Sorry but there is nothing I can do".
