David and his team exceeded expectations. The new deck is better quality than the original one and included rails around perimeter and pool area. They even put cement under the stairs that was missing from original deck. They came in on budget and on time. Very friendly, responsive and easy to work with. They cleaned up all construction materials and took away the old deck. I will ask them for other projects in the future.

David and his team are professional, polite, and arrived when he said they would. I had status updates throughout the process. We discussed options so I could stay within my budget. I love my new composite deck. It’s beautiful and it will last for years! Thank you Backshore Home Improvement!!!

Over the past 5 years, David Clough and his crew have done a number of projects for us at our Yarmouth home ranging from jobs both large and small and from fine cabinetry to straightforward buildouts and repairs. In every instance, we were entirely pleased with the results. Given that we consider ourselves to be rather particular about the condition of our home, this is saying something. Every stage of each project was done in a way that either met or exceeded our expectations. David came up with some creative solutions when we were unsure of the direction that we wanted to take. He was comfortable providing estimates for more than a single approach and each was clear and complete and, most importantly, accurate. There were no surprises. Despite the understandable demands on his time from other customers, David was honest about timeframes for each project and kept us apprised of any changes due to material availability and the like. In short, his communication with us was exemplary. When the job was underway, Daid and his crew took great care to keep the house in good condition and by minimizing disruption to us. When appropriate, the crew cleared and/or cleaned the workspace at the day's end. I recommend David and his crew without hesitation and without qualification. It has been a pleasure to work together with him to create the kind of home we love.

We had three separate projects; A new front porch, A new deck and sunroom, A new floor and repairs after some water damage we suffered. Throughout each project they were professional, fair, diligent and accommodative to our needs. I felt their pricing was fair and competitive. Most importantly, their communications were timely and accurate. We are very pleased with their quality in the end product. We are moving forward with our next project, A new shed and workshop added to our existing garage.

Fantastic. Dave and his crew did a spectacular job with both projects, especially repairing the floor. To repair the floor it was required that a kitchen island be moved, side panels surrounding the refrigerator had to be removed and replaced, a dishwasher had to be disconnected and removed and then re-connected when repairs were finished. Dave also provided assistance with removing the furniture from the 1st floor so that the entire floor could be refinished. His quote was inline with 4 other quotes for the work but his selling put was that he could perform all of the work without me having to source separate contractors (flooring, minor plumbing, carpentry, etc.) to schedule and do the work. He committed to a schedule and showed up when he said he would. Highly recommend.

Project hasn't started. Contractor came promptly to review the job on June 11, said he would have estimate to us within 2-3 weeks. We called him after waiting over 6 weeks and he said he'd get to it right away. About three weeks later we get his brief e-mail estimate with little detail. We respond in a positive way with some details to be confirmed. He has yet to respond to us after another week plus.... We wonder if he can even do the project this year (before Oct. 31 was our requirement back in June....) Our patience is running thin.

David and the team were great to work with. They worked with us to fit the project into our budget, got the work done quicker than expected, and we are pleased with the outcome. David was good at communicating with us so we always knew what was going on with the project and when to expect workers at our home. Will be using Backshore Home Improvement for our next project.

I purchased a house with an apartment on the property; the apartment stairs were not to code. The stairs built by David are magnificent, and unequivocally, the showpiece of the apartment. They are beautiful to behold and command awe from others (friends and other tradesmen) in whom has visited.

David at Backshore Home Improvements was fantastic. Our job was a challenge because we live out on an island yet David made it work and it all went smoothly. The deck was large - 40' x 15' and it's a thing of beauty now! He and his crew were very helpful and professional and worked really hard and long hours to get the project done for us on schedule. He cleaned up the job site every night which we really appreciated and he removed all the old decking - which was above and beyond - when living on an island. Our deck is gorgeous, we love it and we loved working with him and his crew. Will definitely hire him again for other jobs and referred it to others on the island looking for deck or construction projects. TWO THUMBS UP!!

The Contractor worked with us to build exactly what we wanted even though we gave him a very tight budget to work with! The deck came out awesome! We plan on using Backshore Home Improvement for any additional projects around the house in the future. David was very professional and is Highly Recommended!
