The interior job was excellent. The painters did a beautiful job, were responsive and polite, and a pleasure to work with! The price was good too. It looks really lovely. The exterior job was a bit of a nightmare. The preparation work was not done well and the paint job itself was haphazard and sloppy. Clarke painters and mgmt were unresponsive to repeated requests to remove old hardware from the trim before painting it, they did a poor job on the carpentry work that was required before painting, and the paint job itself was messy. After they had painted the trim around the roof and the bay windows, I asked them to alter the color slightly on the rest of the house and to repaint the bay windows. The new color was so close to the original that you couldn't really tell them apart from a distance unless the two colors were right next to each other. They agreed to do that, and then only repainted half of the bay window! If they had been worried about time and cost in order to complete this part of the house they should have asked for more money, but they didn't. In addition, the guy who was painting the detail work had no attention to detail. Paint ended up all over my storm windows, my basement window trim is half black and half yellow, the old paint on the front door showed through the new paint, etc. I asked the detail guy and his boss to please wipe the great streaks of paint off the storms, which he did in a couple of places, but after repeatedly complaining about the quality of the job with no response I eventually stopped asking and just wanted them to leave. It's incredible: there are no straight lines in this paint job -- this guy and most of the crew couldn't have cared less about the quality of their work and the owner of the company didn't really seem to care either. His response was that they had never painted a house as large or complicated as mine before. I've had to go over much of the job at eye level myself. The crew was young and inexperienced. I won't use this company again because I can't trust the quality of their work. It's too bad too, since they did such a nice job on the interior.

I spent $1500 or less on that work and they were really great. I did not need them because this is longer since planned and they actually ended up seeing my house before I did. They were very responsive and are young guys and have a really good web site and respond to my E-mail inquiry very quickly. The estimators were great, especially Mark who was in charge of the painting and he took pictures on his cellphone and sent them to me so I can see parts of the house that I hadn?t been able to see. He gave me some feedback about the house and reassured me. He was a really nice guy and I felt that he definitely took care of us and wanted to make sure that we consider using him in the future. His prices were reasonable.

They first came and checked around. They told us what needed to be done. They did not hurry through. I was going away for a few days and wanted the estimate before I left. The person knew that the estimate would not come on mail on time, so he personally delivered it. He was very professional and we were pleased with him. I interacted with the person just twice, and he was very professional both the times. We have gone ahead and signed the contract with him.

Kurt did an exceptional job. I cannot tell where the hole was.

I liked them and they seem to know what they were talking about. They seemed to have their stuff together to be ready to discuss the project. They were prompt with the estimate and the guy was nice. They are on the short list, but I am still waiting on some other estimates to come in.

Perfect in every way. Timely quote, work and excellent quality and professionalism. I would and have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

Kurt did an excellent job. He was very professional and cares about the work that he performs. It took several coats of spackle to fix the wall but the end result is excellent. I am glad he took the time and effort to do the job well. He was punctual and very pleasent, as well. The prices were reasonable.

They have fixed things that they didn?t really need to like our mailbox that has been broken for some time. They knocked it over when they came in, which happens sometimes, and they just fixed it without charging me. That was a really stand-up thing to do.

I must confess I was somewhat concerned when I found the painting crew was two ladies. But, as it turned out they were fast, very good painters and the climbing was not an issue. Genie even told me that she paints ski lift towers regularly! The caulking, which is often a problem with painting, was very well done. They were careful to ask if there was anything that they were doing that was not satisfactory, and were motiovated to do an excellent job. Each night the equipment was stacked in one ploace and for the most part, you would not know they were there. I was just delighted with the entire experience

Due to the rainy summer, they got a later start than they had estimated. We expected that, so it was okay. They sent someone first to power wash the house. Then there was about a week or so before they started scraping and painting. At first it was slow going, because there was only one of them, but once they had the whole crew here, it was fantastic. Very professional, carefully-done work. Also, great folks--very pleasant. Clearly, they cared very much about the job they were doing. At least one of the three owner/partners came each day to make sure the job was being done correctly. This same group had done a house on our street, and we had seen what an excellent job they had done on that house. These guys really care about doing a job well-done. Would hire them again. A fantastic group. Don't know how their costs compare to other painters.

We called several painters (some from Angie's List) and thought Clarke's price was the most fair. They showed up when they said they would and their young crew was a pleasure to have around. The work was well done and they've assured us that they'll return if we have any issues.

Great experience from start to finish. Very thorough estimate of services; met price requirements. Scheduled work in professional manner ahead of schedule. Great communicators during the process. Quality of work was fantastic. Extremely satisfied with end product. It was a pleasure doing business with them!

They completed the job in about 20 minutes and I was amazed by their work.

The Clarke team is fantastic at communication, setting and delivering on expectations, and performing the specified work on time. Their estimates are on the money, and they have never "surprised" me with additional costs, timeliness, or issues. They are a pleasure to work with, and I would recommend them highly.

Overall this was a good experience. The estimate was set up promptly after I had given my information at a home show. The estimate was done on time and at the convenience of my schedule. The work was efficiently and with good quality, including the repairs. The crew worked cleanly and quickly, the job was done before I knew it. After the work was finished, the company followed up with me to make sure I had a good experience with the company, which I really appreciated since many other companies wouldn't have done the same.

My experience was great. I had an estimate in hand 2 hours after I called. We had a rather tight schedule to get the work done. It was done without a problem. The work crew was very kind and courteous. They even helped me with a few other tasks in the house. The work is great and my mom is extremely happy!

We had been 'abandoned' by another painter over a long weekend. We had exposed wood and some damage caused by the prior painter. We gave Clarke Painting a call and they were here to save our home and investment. In about a week, were were proud to see the fine job they had done, both in repairing the prior damage and preparing and painting our home. We'll use Clarke Painting as our exclusive painting contractor from now on. First class service and really fine people overall.

I am still shopping around to compare prices.

They never showed up and they never called back. I called them and they apologized saying they had lost track of the appointment and they would be out, but they never showed up. A few months later, a guy called me to tell me he would be out the next day. I had no idea who he was, so I asked who he was and why he was coming out, and he told me he was with Clarke. It was some guy I had never spoken with, and I told him we would not be needing their services.

The job went very well although our largest problem was Mother Nature. Right after the power washing was done we had several days of rain to contend with but while I witnessed other painters on other jobs continuing to paint through the humid wet days the Clarke painting crew waited until they felt conditions were perfect to begin painting. I can't say enough about their concern to work under the right conditions, their attention to detail and their professionalism.

It went well. The team who painted were great arriving early & worked hard. The job went smoothly AND quickly. Especially liked the primary painter who talked w/us daily & listened to our concerns(and worked crazy hours). He definitely wanted us to be satisfied with job results. Would hire again.

The Clarke Paint crew did a great job of listening to what I needed, setting expectations on what they would do and how they would do it, and over delivered on those expectations. I would hire Clarke Painting for any paint job, and recommend them to anyone looking for top-quality work in a timely manner, for a reasonable and fair price.

They final job was fine, but my wife had to keep calling them to come fix things and make it better, because they did not see the problems themselves. I would say they returned 4 times.

Overall it went very well the crew worked on our house on the hottest two days of the year. Other than a couple of minor mis communications, the work went well and has held up.
