Bisson Moving and Storage

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. We were sold on this company as being a family owned company who cared about their customers - nothing could be further from the truth. They showed up an hour late (not a big deal) to load the truck on the designated day. They came with a Ryder rental truck and three guys. Everything was supposed to be tagged with our customer ID, but not everything was. I packed all the boxes myself, taking care to make sure everything had plenty of wrap and was marked Fragile if it was. We were supposed to receive the load in 3 to 10 days at our new home. It took 13 days for the truck to arrive - and several phone calls to the Maine office to find out where it was and when it would show up. Lack of communication is a big issue. Phone calls that are not returned, emails that go unanswered. When the truck did show, the truck driver and his helpers were the only shining light in this whole ordeal. They put everything where it was supposed to go or where I directed them to. Wayne our driver put things together which had been taken apart and fixed an antique dresser which had been broken. After he went on his way I discovered I was missing a number of items. I immediately emailed the office to let them know. Three of the items weren't even on the inventory because they had not been tagged. I shortly heard from Wayne that three of the items were on the truck with him in Florida. I then heard from the office that they simply acknowledged my email and would check with the warehouse. Wayne did stop back in Georgia on his way north to drop off the items on his truck. He apologized profusely for the oversight. One of the items didn't have a tag, so he would have no way of knowing who it belonged to. I also received a phone call from the office four days after the email, repeating that they would look into it and let me know. I have since sent two other emails to the office requesting an ETA on our items. We were charged for 9000+ pounds, and the driver indicated he weighed our load and it was 6000+ pounds. I have made this complaint to office, and it just falls on deaf ears. Several of my boxes were crushed, and a box of drinking glasses marked fragile everywhere were pulverized. At this point - almost a month after our move - I don't know if we'll ever see the last items from the movers, if they will reimburse me for the repairs I had made to the broken china cabinet or if I'll ever really know what our load weighed or if we overpaid for the move. We are just a residential customer, and frankly I don't think they care one bit if we're happy or not! So ... overcharged, late delivery, little to no communication, missing items, broken items ... would you hire these people? Please don't you'll be very sorry!
