Hank was awesome! He came over and inspected the work I was trying to accomplish. He explained that there was a more cost effective way to get the job done and saved me a lot of money. He was quick and fit me into his calendar. Loved the experience from start to finish. I will definitely use Hank for any future electrical needs.

Marsh River traveled over an hour to come out to my house to redo my electrical from the panel to the pole, put the wires underground (because they were not before) put a new electrical box and meter on the pole. Did a great job and knew exactly what they were doing! Just a side note: I thought the reason the outlets on the back wall of my room didn’t work was because of mice eating our wires. Whoever did the electric before must not have done it correctly because the outlets are now working!

Marsh River Electrical answered my call on the day after a holiday and promptly came out to assess my electrical problem. Despite being very busy, he prioritized my situation as an emergency loss-of-power.

It went very well. The electrician arrived on time, replaced the receptacles in a way that was cost efficient as well as safe, and patiently explained things when I asked questions. He also cleaned up the work areas when he was finished.

Outdoor light was disconnected at my request because I need to replace the fixture. Laundry room switch was replaced. Perfect!

Gave me a quote, I accepted and was told great they would set up a time with CMP so they could install it. Then never heard from them again. Contacted several times with no response. That was over three months ago before I gave up.

Hank and Ray did a great job updating some wiring as well as installing lights and sockets for a bath/bedroom renovation in our farmhouse in mid coast Maine. They responded quickly, were on time when they said they would arrive, work was professional, and pricing very reasonable for two days work. It was a welcome response in working with someone “off peninsula” who actually takes customer service and responsiveness seriously. Will definitely use them again!

OK. He only worked for about a half hour and charged me $100 so I thought it was very expensive for what it was. I could have done it myself but I wanted a Master Electrician to check the lines.

Hank is fantastic because if he does not believe something makes financial sense, he will tell you rather than get you involved in a project that costs more than its worth in the end. His pricing is consistent with his estimates and he's a professional who I recommend to people often when asked for an electrician.

Todd did great work for us. This was at a summer house, and he was very responsive and flexible in terms of getting in to do the work when it fit our schedule. Good communication - kept us informed of what/when he was doing the work. All around he was great to work with.

Hank was a life-saver! We needed an estimate to do the job while negotiating the price of the house. Hank understood the urgency, was right there, and produced a very accurate estimate for a job of uncertain parameters. We closed on the house, and continued to live 1.5 hours away while Hank did the work on the house - he had to make many decisions himself, and all were the right ones. He did the job with as little damage to walls/ceilings as humanly possible due to forethought and expertise. We moved in, and the most frequent comment as we got settled was "How 'bout Hank? That is exactly where the outlet should be!" or "we didn't think of that, but Hank did!" A true professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful, respectful of old houses - we highly recommend Marsh River Electrical!

Mr. DeRuiter is an excellent electrician. He is completely knowledgeable in all areas needed. He is dependable and was always punctual. He is a good listener and we found him very helpful in advising on future projects/ideas. We highly recommend Marsh River Electrical.

I was very pleased with the work done by Marsh River Electric. Old houses are difficult to work with and Hank DeRuiter got right to it and upgraded all circuits giving me new grounded outlets and switches. He came every day and completed the job on time. In many ways, I think Hank went above and beyond with my electrical job and gave me outstanding results. I couldn't have been more pleased with the work done. I would strongly recommend Marsh River Electric as an electrical contractor.

All work that we needed done was finished in the only (limited) time available. Have already recommended Marsh River to several friends.

I have had them do several work for me at my house. There was just one worker. He answered all my questions for me, and was thorough.

We contacted them Nov. 15 requesting a quote as we were looking for the work to be done by early to mid Dec. As of this review (Dec 5), we have yet to hear from them.
