Description of Work: I had my house completely renovated. The plumbing was very old, so I had Nate Perkins replace most of it. He also installed a rinnai heater for me. He installed a stink pipe and installed a washer and dryer in one of the bedrooms. He changed the shower location and the location of the kitchen sink. |The $6,000.00 included the rinnai heater and all of the plumbing parts he used. He did a really good job and I have had absolutely no problems with the work Nate did. |I would recommend Nate for plumbing issues.

Description of Work: Nate installed two new propane Rinnai heaters in my home, as well as fixed my old water heater (which had a burned out heat coil). Installation of the Rinnai heaters included drilling holes through the exterior walls to install the exhaust vents, and running all new lines for the propane feed, as the house had not had propane service before this time. (Also, the cost included the 2 heaters.) Nate arrived promptly, worked quickly and efficiently, and put up with my constant hovering and questioning. I am the type that enjoys watching someone working and questioning why, in the hopes that I can learn something along the way -- maybe I can save money the next time if I learn something today. Nate was extremely informative and a pleasure to have working for me. When it came time for the water heater, he informed me that the new coil was essentially a "patch" and that the tank itself was pretty old and would need to be replaced eventually. He gave me a quick lesson on what to do when that happens. Sure enough, about a year and a half later, we needed a new tank. I called him to see if he could come and do it, and to his credit he did not take the opportunity to take advantage of me,... rather, he reminded me of what he had earlier told me and assured me that I could do the job myself. After that, I did! Since then I have helped my wife's parents install a new water heater at their house, too. I realize now that this particular job is relatively easy, but without his advise and the confidence he helped build in me, I would never have dared try. Description of Work: Nate did several jobs at my property over several years approximately 2007 -2009. He replaced a toilet, fixed drains, put in hot water economizers and timers on the furnaces to regulate the hot water, yearly maintenance on the furnaces, as well as few other things. First couple experiences weren't bad, which is why I stayed with him. Finding a plumber in the Steep Falls area is tough. The trouble started when he put hotwater heating system economizers and timers. They were several hundred dollars apiece. One didn't work or was not adjusted right after installation. When they came back I was charged for it! For something that was not done right in the first place. After the second visit it still didn't work correctly and still doesn't today. Not too long after the second visit for the water regulator issue, one of the furnaces wasn't heating the water properly. They quoted me several hundred dollars to replace some kind of coil- said they go like every 5-7 years or something like that. Eventually I had the heat tech from my oil company look at it- he made an adjustment for free and I never had another issue with it! In the spring/summer 2009, I called because the heat was stuck on in one of the downstairs heat zones. After a number of calls from me and no-shows by Perkins, three weeks later the heat was still stuck on. Again I had the heat tech from my oil company come and he fixed it. The last year I worked with this company it was a lot of phone calls from me and no-shows and empty promises by Perkins. It still urks me to this day I almost paid many hundreds of dollars to fix/replace the water heating coil/element that was totally unnecessary and my poor tenant had their heat cranking in the spring/summer for three weeks! (not to mention the wasted oil I had to pay for- same with the hotwater economizer that still isn't working). If you have heating issues think about using Rob at Heat Tech- he rocks. Too bad he can only do so much and is not a plumber.

Description of Work: During the course of replacing a washer/dryer, I was told that I should have a hot/cold shut off valve in the bathroom. As it was, the valve was in the cellar. I also needed a leaky kitchen faucet replaced.
