The installation was delayed for almost two months because a pad needed to be installed to house the generator (another contractor). Then, a buried Propane line had to be installed (yet another contractor). Finally, the Propane tank was installed after numerous discussions about number, size, and mounting location (my wife did not want two vertical tanks mounted on the rear of the house.) I was away on a trip when the "final hookup" was performed, returning home around midnight on a Friday. I was scheduled to leave on a plane Sunday morning. So, Saturday, I looked over the "finished" installation. I identified three problems: (1) the generator switch was set to "OFF" instead of "AUTO" - it would not have turned on, (2) the generator circuit breaker that isolates the generator from the main power panel was "OFF" instead of "ON", and (3) the main power panel circuit breaker that allowed generator power to be switched to carry the whole house also was set to "OFF". The contractor could not come out that day and I did not want to leave my wife without a working system, so I had to RTFM to deduce the three problems I identified, above. I then corrected them, by myself, and the system has worked fine. The "C" rating is because the system works, but the experiences were not what I would expect for a turnkey system. The contractor is pleasant and seems to listen, but obviously does not check the work (he has younger workers do some of the work and it may be a problem wiht supervision.) Regardless, I had requested a turnkey system and wound up acting as the general contractor and final inspector / fixer.
