Purchase and financing went extremely well. (The 14% finance charge may seem high, but understandable, since it is virtually impossible to get financing for a used Mobile Home.) The only problem related to storage was damage to be the vinyl flooring, which was likely caused by having to store the home through the winter with no heat. Not anything Pine View Homes was responsible for. Delivery went OK, but it would not have gone so well if our contractor had not kept a bulldozer on site.
Description of Work: Sold us a used Mobile Home, provided in-house financing, and securely stored the home for 7 months (until our site preparation was completed), delivered home to site and placed it on pad

Very stressfull but after negotiation and firm demands, the work was done to satisfaction.
Description of Work: I am so glad to pass on the frustration I experienced with Pine View Moble homes. I purchased a new home, upon delivery they didn't take off wood securing roof shingles. When I called them back, they attempted to tell me it was my responsibility. Soon after, some shingles came off. They said they didn't know when they could get to it and also they didn't carry that color shingle in stock. I told them they could repair it with any shingle right now, but they needed to order the right color, this was a new moble home and I wanted the roof shingles to match. I told them this would cause a leak and they would then be repairing the inside ceilings of my home because the home was under warrenty. Within a few days, they came and replaced the shingles with the right color and removed the wood braces they left on originally. Also the bathtub was installed in such a way that it was impossible to take a shower without a large pool of water on the floor. Their repair person said it couldn't be fixed. Being frustrated and fearful that my floor would be ruined, I told them I would have someone else fix it and send them the bill, again because the home was under warrenty. Finally he agreed to adjust the tub which he did, taking a few hours and the problem was solved for good. I would never buy from Pine View Movle home again because they act like they are doing you a huge favor to make minor adjustments on a new home, and initally they try and refuse the repairs on a new home under warrenty. They told my busband at the time a whole different story, saying I refused to let them repair the roof. This is far from the truth, I had to convince them to repair the roof before damage was done to inside ceilings. This is a poor way to do business. I am surprised they are still in business.

The removal of the "belly insulation" was removed poorly, no clean up was done. We had to contact Pine View Homes to come and clean the mess that was left. The removal of the insulation and the installation of the trough beneath the duct work was performed on a Friday. The person who removed insulation and installed the trough left about 3 pm stating someone would be back on Monday to clean up the mess and no one showed up on Monday. All in all we are very dissatisfied with the shoddy work and handling of the entire issue.
Description of Work: When Modular Home was purchased we bought central air conditioning through Pineview Homes and was informed the duct work needed to be insulated to prevent condensation in the cellar. When home was delivered it had "belly type" insulation that hung approximately 4 feet into the cellar. After about 3 weeks of discussion with them that we could not utilize our cellar because we could not even stand up, Pineview contacted the manufacturer to come and remove the belly type insulation and insulate the duct work to stop the condensation. The duct work was insulated only on the sides and bottom, leaving the top open. This causes a trough of water when the air conditioner is being used and it is only a matter of time before the water trough falls into the cellar. The crossovers from the main duct work was not insulated and causes condensation still to drip into the cellar. The duct work also has air leaks in some areas that causes loss of heat/air conditioning when they are running. We were sold an Energy Star Modular Home and according to an energy audit that was performed we have used approximately 40 % more fuel to heat the modular home then what should have been needed. Since the duct work is used for both heating and cooling this home is far from "energy efficient". Pineview has failed to address and rectify the issue that prevents us from utilizing our central air conditioning that we paid for in good faith.
