Horrible
Description of Work: He looked at my refrigerator and seemed very " put out" because it was a Frigidaire which he informed us was a piece of junk. We paid the service fee and he left. This mans energy was so bad, we did not want him in our house. He was bothered and put out and we were out 40 bucks for nothing. We researched on line and ended up fixing it ourselves.

The service was amazing! The issue was diagnosed over the phone with only a few details. He arrived five minutes early and was done in an hour. He was very knowledgeable about our appliance and even stayed a few minutes longer to look at our broken dryer.
Description of Work: The ignitor on the oven was replaced

I was taken aback by the cost of the part for my Sears Range. I had priced it through Sears at about $70. Ray's cost was $120+ I figured that repairmen always get parts at wholesale cost and mark them up as part of their profit but I thought that mark-up was high.
Description of Work: Ray has repaired by freezer, my washer, my dishwasher and is in the process of repairing my electric range. He comes quickly, knows what he is doing and the price is right.

After he installed the timer, I realized that the machine no longer filled for the first minute or so through the small containers where you're supposed to put the detergent. Instead it filled just through the back, so no detergent went into that wash. When I called to ask him about this, he told me that they don't make timers like that anymore and I should just put the detergent into the machine directly. (It also no longer fills the softener or bleach containers.) A few minutes on the internet, however, which I SO wish I had done first, showed that the exact timer for our washer is available on line, from the manufacturer, Kenmore: "satisfaction guaranteed". At this point, though, I didn't want to pay for his labor, so I've just decided to use the washer as is. I am not, however, a satisfied customer. I was also not happy when he showed up at the house at 7:50 a.m. when we had agreed to 8:30. I'm up early, but this was a bit of a surprise and, I thought, unprofessional.
Description of Work: The knob on the washing machine was stripped, so it would no longer engage to set the wash cycle. That knob is actually the timer that sets the wash cycle. He ordered a timer that he said would fit our washer, claiming that he was unable to get the exact one for our model, he and installed it.

My freezer compartment of my refrigerator quit working. When I called Ray and left a message on his answering machine (he's pretty much a one-man operation), he called back a couple of times before he reached me. He arrived when I had yet to return home as planned and waited for me! He had absolutely everything he needed to complete the job right in his van. He was professional, capable and got the job done in less than an hour. Ray personifies old-fashioned work ethic. His fee was more than reasonable and his work was just what my freezer needed. I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Ray took the freezer compartment apart, diagnosed the problem and fixed it.
