VIOLETTE SEALCOATING

I have mixed feelings about writing this review. The first time I used them, the result was such that "A" ratings, across the board, were warranted. Very good work, very well done, fair price, etc. After that work, I was informed that I could wait two to three years for a recoat of my asphalt driveway sealer. Two years later, I called and left a message to schedule an appointment/estimate. I did not hear back. After two weeks, I left another voice message. This time, someone showed up at the house about a week later to verify the address and the phone number; supposedly the number was not working (in use for several years; unsure what happened.) As someone showed at the house, I figured we would be able to get the driveway sealed in time for Winter 2012-2013. Repeated phone messages went unreturned and we wound up losing the window for having the driveway sealed until next Spring, 2013, at the earliest. There has to be an explanation, but I have not received any word. If the quality wasn't so good (they were careful about my wife's shrubs, cleaned everything before leaving, ensured that we knew what to do, when to do it, etc.; all "A" quality work) we would not consider them, again.

They arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled, and the crew did an excellent job cleaning the driveway, tying back plants that overhung the driveway, and then applied the material They drove stakes along side the driveway and placed a highly visible tape to keep vehicles/people off the sealcoating. Joe Violette was there with two of his crew and they explained subsequent care, recommended a two to three year reapplication (discouraged more frequent based upon the granularity of the underlying asphalt), etc.
