Geek Squad - Best Buy

We had someone there set it up and we’ve had trouble with it ever since. We took it back to them and had gone a little over the 90 days. They charged us $100 and they said it had no problems. The management had a bad attitude and showed no sympathy to our problems.

I am a big fan of the Geek Squad at this Best Buy, generally. In this case, the Geeks looked at our old PC and told us it needed more service than it was worth, given its age. Fortunately, BB had a special price on the newer version of the same PC; unfortunately, they didn't have it in stock in Topsham; fortunately, they did have it in Portsmouth; unfortunately, it took over a week to get it up here (I had offered to pick it up as I was almost in Portsmouth earlier in the week; fortunately, they were able to transfer the data on the original hard drive to the new PC; unfortunately, that took nearly a week; more unfortunately, BB said they couldn't honor the special price because the PC came from Portsmouth and it was past the date of the special offer; fortunately, The Manager responded to my plea and decided to extend the special price, saving me $80. All in all, I will return to the Geeks.

They did a phenomenal job! They showed up on time and were very good at what they do.

My 2 and a half year old Dell desktop wouldn't boot up and made a beeping sound every 3 or 4 seconds. We feared the worst (a sick beyond repair computer). But I took it over to the Geek Squad and the young Geek said "sounds like a memory stick." He opened the cpu and took out one of four wafers; hooked it up to his monitor and said "looks like I got lucky on the first try." Re-installed the wafer; started the tower up and voila! started right up and has been running ever since. "How much do I owe you," said I. Said he, "oh, nothing; it only took a minute to fix." I took them some cookies the next week and they seemed really surprised and pleased that someone thought of them.
