All Under One Roof Construction

Description of Work: The builder, Chris Lachance, was contracted to reroof existing home, construct a 22x10 addition, and remodel/expand existing kitchen and bedroom. He was paid approximately $13,000 at the start of the project to begin the work and order materials. The total price for the project, when complete, was estimated at approximately $27,000. He began work on the roof but completed less than half of the work related to the roof. The roof remains mostly unshingled at this point. He claimed to have applied for appropriate building permits, but the local town hall confirmed that no paperwork had ever been filed. The builder has now been absent from the job for 3 weeks. Upon confronting Mr. Lachance with knowledge that he had not submitted building permits, he agreed to return the money paid to him. On three occasions, he failed to show up at appointed times. Now, he no longer answers his phone or returns phone calls.
