About us

We are a company that provides radon air, radon water, and water quality testing. You will have " peace of mind" knowing that your test was conducted using the finest continuous radon monitors available. Our continous radon monitor reports are easy to understand and include hourly readings of radon concentrations, barometric pressure, temperature, and humidity. They also have a tilt sensor and battery backup so you can be confident that your test is accurate and has not been tampered with!

Services we offer

Home Radon Detection Company has been testing buildings in our wonderful State of Maine for over 25 years. We offer our client's a choice of three radon air tests; short term (48 hour) Continuous Radon Monitor or Dual canister kits. Long term (90-365 days) Alpha Track kits. When we discuss the benefits of testing with one of our CRM's ( accuracy, hourly readings, up to date calibration, etc...) almost all of our clients opt for this method. We also conduct radon water and water quality tests.

*Please Note* We do NOT do radon mitigation or water treatment systems. Why?... Because we feel it is clearly a conflict of interests. You deserve a company that will test your home and give you accurate results while not trying to sell you an unnecessary repair.

Description of Work: Drilled through basement floor into the peripheral drain system. Installed a pipe system and fan that vents through the garage roof. Sealed one basement floor drain and installed a drain valve in another. They did not seal the basement floor/wall junction. I had to do that. Reduced radon level from >4 to around 2.1.

Dan performed air testing for Radon, and water testing for a wide variety of possible contaminants as part of pre-purchase building inspection. Responsiveness was fabulous, results were quick and very easy to understand, including very clear information on what the various EPA limits are for each item. The realtor said he's the best provider of this service he's ever seen, and he's been in the business for at least 10 years.
