The performance of the job itself was fine; everything went well. However, 2 years after paying $700 to have my chimney repaired, the tuckpointing was already falling out and there are chunks of mortar missing already. I've called them several times, each time being told someone would call me back and the owner would call me back. The last few times I called there is just an answering machine. Pretty obvious this company doesn't plan to fix it's mistakes and too bad for me I'm basically out $700. Don't use them.

When we were considering the contract, Jay was professional, looked us in the eye and said the work would be done in a reasonable time frame, that his crew would be working on our house as long as the materials were available, and the total work would take about 4 weeks (with delays due to having to order windows, etc) The FIRST DAY he postponed their start date. The rest of the first week they were there every day and did finish the roof. After that we rarely saw them. We expected him to be there every day but every day there was an excuse. After about 4 weeks of this we finally got angry enough to get his attention and things started moving a little more rapidly. Unfortunately because Jay had been absent so much and hadn't completed the work in order for the plumber to start on his part, the plumber became unavailable and it took 2 more weeks to find a replacement, delaying everything further. This plumber was unreliable too, which extended the project even more. Many, many times we were told "the (fill in the blank) will be done by Friday". That never happened. Long story short, the project started in mid-May and still (end of September) hasn't been completed. The last time we saw Jay was July 23, at which point most of the work was done, just some details needed to be finished. Unfortunately I paid him the full amount owed and tho he promised to return to finish the job, I don't expect to ever see him again. He has not been responsive to multiple attempts to set a date to finish. Also, he left some trash and debris that we had to clean up. The quality of the work was generally very good, but I wouldn't say excellent. He presents very professionally but during the work he is a very poor communicator and is unreliable to show up and do the work. I understand this is par for the course with contractors but we had had hopes that Jay would be different. He isn't.
