Paul and his son Paul were very pleasant and professional. My husband and I were quite pleased with their work.

Paul responded immediately to my initial call and scheduled the work within a short time frame. He arrived on time and on the pre-scheduled days. He was responsive to our questions and concerns. The work was completed to our satisfaction and in a very timely way.

Paul and Paul arrived when promised, looked over the job and explained what work should be done. They gave me a quote plus a few options to consider. Once I agreed to do the work, they arrived on the promised day and time, and did some prep work for patching the damaged stairs and chimney (maybe two hours). They returned the following day to execute the actual repairs (maybe five or so hours), and a third day (30 minutes) to check that things were curing appropriately, and to put some protective spray on the brick chimney. Paul Sr explained what materials he was using and why. They were very professional, and friendly. I am currently unemployed, so the price was a bit higher than I had hoped, but I also didn't price shop or negotiate before accepting the price. I applied the company's Angies list coupon, and he threw in the chimney cap for free, so I am satisfied with the price paid.

Just gathering estimates at the time, but wouldn't hesitate to hire. Very professional. Showed up on time and returned phone calls.

I would like to start by saying that after searching for a mason and getting several bids, I came across Southern Maine Masonry, a father and son team. From the get go, we were very impressed with their professionalism. They explained the scope of the job in detail and worked in a very timely manner. We were living on the premises during construction and they kept the job site clean and organized. They were respectful and courteous throughout the job. I would highly recommend them for any skilled masonry work, and would certainly use them again in the future.

Paul & Paul….father/son team absolutely exceptional. They were immediately and beautifully responsive to our call to assess what was a partially torn down fireplace front (resulting from major house renovations) and building an arched brick separator within an existing fireplace that was much too large to be cost effective in burning or having a gas/electric insert that would be appropriate to its size. Result: log storage on one side (for our wood burning stove) and a much more reasonable size for our insert. They showed up when promised and worked quickly, cleaning up as they went along. These guys are great! Very friendly and reasonable. I was so pleased with the chimney and fireplace that I had them do a stone patio/walkway and cultured stone all around my foundation. Prices are very reasonable. Their experience shows highly in their work. They were recommended by stone yards and residents in the area. A pleasure to do business with and will be using them again in the near future!
